Home theatre projectors
from top brands like BenQ and Epson bring the movie theatre to the comfort of your
own home. Just add popcorn.
Enjoy a cinema-like experience in the comfort of your own home with a home theatre projector. Designed for high-definition entertainment, a home theatre projector lets you bring your favourite movies, shows and entertainment to the big screen in brilliant picture quality. Find a great selection of home theatre projectors at Best Buy from Vivitek, Optoma, Epson and BenQ.
Resolution determines the quality of picture you’ll receive from your projector. A higher-resolution projector has more pixels, so images will appear crisper and clearer. To enjoy HD-quality entertainment from your Blu-ray player, HDTV or video game consoles, look for a projector that supports Full HD 1080p or 720p resolution. For watching the latest 3D movies, choose a model that has 3D video support. Just make sure you have a 3D-enabled video source and 3D glasses.
Brightness from a projector is measured in lumens, and the higher the lumens, the brighter the picture. If you mainly watch movies in dim or ambient light, a projector with 1000 to 1200 lumens is ideal. If you use your projector in brightly-lit rooms such as a sun-soaked living room, opt for one with higher lumens of 2000 to 2500.
A projector with a high contrast ratio will make colours pop and bring out the brightest of whites and darkest of blacks. This will let you enjoy all the little details in your entertainment, whether it’s the crisp red polka dots on the leading lady’s dress or the cotton-white clouds in your favourite video game.
A home theatre projector with HDMI connectivity will let you hook up HD-equipped devices like your Blu-ray player, HDTV, Xbox and more. Other connectivity options include component video, VGA and USB, so you’ll be able to play all sorts of entertainment on the big screen, including the YouTube playlist from your PC or your favourite holiday DVD.
