Best Buy and the Environment

Best Buy and the Environment - Best Buy is strongly committed to doing its share in protecting our planet and conserving the earth’s resources. As an electronics retailer company, Best Buy has a responsibility to prevent old and unwanted electronics from making their way to Canadian landfills, and it is making strides to reduce our energy and material goods consumption as well as environmental footprint.

Tech It Away - Student Electronics Recycling Fundraiser

Tech it Away is a unique program designed to make it easy to safely and responsibly recycle consumer electronics. Every year Best Buy partners with schools to host e-waste drives, helping students collect unneeded electronic items from the community. In return, each participating school receives a Best Buy grant towards new tech as well as funds to create student-led eco-conscious projects.

To date, Best Buy has collected over 125,000 kg of e-waste with the help of local schools and Best Buy volunteers.

Best Buy continues to provide its customers with opportunities to recycle their old and unwanted electronics. Please click on the map below for details on Best Buy’s recycling programs in your province.
