Excellent machine, and need to know limitations

I love this machine. I have this machine for one year already. Since it has 2 Gig RAM, I don't install CPU or RAM intensive software. I hooked up a big 24 inch monitor using a micro HDMI cable. At home, I use it as a desktop with both USB plugs for mouse and keyboard. One of the USB plug requires OTG USB cable from Best Buy. When I have to leave my house, I use it outside doing tethering to my cell phone. At work, I use it as a smart terminal connecting to virtual machines such as Citrix. For productivity, I don't install Microsoft Office or Open Office; I use the Google Docs in Chrome browser.

No Longer Works

After just over a year, mine no longer works. The 'tablet" portion on it will not function with the keyboard. Common problem, cheap quality.

laptops have come a long way

nice little machine to use as an auxilliary gadget while in an area away from the main computer. pulls apart to become a pure stand alone tablet...even while plugged into the sturdy base unit the touchscreen works and that's a real plus when using a smaller screen...with windows 10 installed when purchased you pretty much just have to turn it on and go to work or play...haven't had it long enough to check out the battery life but I'm pretty sure it will be excellent. The machine itself is quite sturdy and attractive...I think it is great!

Reall GUUUD

It`s one of my first devices, and is an amazing deal. It is actually really good for the price, and is really durable. I`ve even run it over with an ATV and it survived without a scratch.

Love love love😊

I love this device, very flexible i mainly use it for school so its a perfect size to fit in my handbag. Only thing is the screen resolution is not as bright as I would have liked but over all it a good buy.

Less than impressed

I've had my Acer Switch One 10 for less than a week and both times it has died completely, upon restart the touch function no longer works. The only solution is to do a factory reset. I have brought this to Acers attention and apparently there's nothing they can do. I will be returning this piece of junk tomorrow and buying something from a brand that actually takes pride in their products.

Great value

Bought this to tide me over while my laptop was repaired. Love everything about it. I love that it has a detachable keyboard and a usb port. Does everything I need and at a reasonable price.

Decent tablet for light multitasking, very easy switching between a tablet and small laptop!

I've had this tablet for several weeks and am very happy with the value for what this can do. Packaging was excellent and documentation easy to read (although the features are intuitive). Upon first power-up, you are taken through the run-of-the-mill Windows 10 setup, which is largely the same as regular OEM setups of Win10. Initial asus "bloatware" is actually useful, such as Acer device registration and driver updates, although this can be uninstalled since the acer account website can help keep the tablet drivers up to date. There are about 6-7 Acer apps that you can uninstall with no impact to the tablet. Acer does provide drivers on its support site. The 2-in-1 functionality is very good. The keyboard reach/finger travel is decent for the size of laptop and doesn't feel squished. The magnets that connect the tablet to the keyboard are quite strong. Windows 10 detects and enables/disables Tablet Mode very will, with no issues so far when connecting the two. Also a nice feature is the ability to turn the tablet around and use the keyboard as a stand to watch movies or if you just want something to hold the tablet while in Tablet mode (Windows 10 smartly doesn't switch to Desktop mode when the tablet is backwards). While the tablet has a MicroUSB port, the keyboard also has a standard USB 2.0 port if you want to plug in a thumbdrive and don't have an adapter. Regular desktop apps can be installed, which is great for this tablet. Even with Avast and f.lux running in the background, there isn't any noticeable performance drop. Although there was some lag noticed after opening 8-9 tabs with Chrome. The Anniversary update installed easily as well. Space hasn't been an issue as the OS takes up about half of the onboard SSD. If you want, you can get a Micro SD card to use for files, pics, and vids. The screen is bright and vibrant. 100% brightness is so bright though, I had to turn it down to 50% and even lower if using at night. The brushed aluminum casing has a nice touch and adds a premium feeling to a cheap tablet. The keyboard however doesn't have the same metal finish (plastic) but also doesn't feel cheap. Comes with Mobile versions of Word, Excel, Powerpoint. This tablet comes with a power charger with a 3.0 Amp output, charging the Tablet from dead to full in about 3.5 hours. With heavy wifi usage (browsing and watching Netflix), I've seen about 6-7 hours of power. The tablet will also charge via the micro USB port, although most phone chargers at a 2.1 Amp output will charge the tablet much more slowly. Charging is even slower if you're just using a 500amp USB 2.0 port. I'd recommend not using the tablet if charging via USB port on a computer. The one thing that this tablet DOES NOT do well is sound. Speakers are tingy and lack bass. However, if you have Bluetooth speakers, these connect easily. Also, if using as a tablet, headphones work much better. Don't expect to have a music player if you don't have audio alternatives to connect. In all, the tablet is great for general browsing, streaming video, and light productivity. The detachable keyboard makes it very easy to switch to a small laptop, or stand if you need it. It is a great size for travel and as a 2nd laptop. PROS: - Great versatility between laptop/tablet. Streams video great at 1080p on YouTube and Netflix. - Screen bright and vibrant - Decent battery life. CONS: - Keyboard doesn't have metal finish like tablet - Charger is a bit short (6 ft). Unless you have a power outlet at desk level or beside the bed, you won't be able to charge and use without an extension cord. - Stock speakers are TERRIBLE. No bass. Don't expect to play Spotify or watch movies without external speakers or headphones.

Great, basic, computer.

As a very average computer user, I'm very pleased with this, basic, portable, computer which is very reasonably priced. Can grab and go to meetings, basically taking my office with me. I use it for, 1. stock trading (real time data receiving), 2. word processing, 3. video watching, 4. Using Google phone (microphone and speakers work great). 5. My photos are on Google Photos, so are stored in the cloud, so are not an issue. I do not watch movies, so cannot comment on that.
