Really REALLY bad

first unit I bought didn't last 2 weeks, it just fried, then I replaced it with another one, which lasted 3 weeks and then fried for no reason (no outage / surges throughout the house). So, I would stay far far away from this product.

Let out the magic smoke

I would normally give an APC UPS a 5/5 - however after 4 months of usage this little gem let out the magic smoke. A complete failure of the onboard charging system, which blew a few capacitors. I own several APC UPSs and none of them have ever done this. I am likely unlucky, but as it stands am returning it to get another one ... let's hope the new one will work for longer than 4 months.

Ignore Sam's review

Laser printers can use upwards of a 1000W when powering up. They will throw any but the highest end of UPS's into panic mode. Do NOT plug laser printers into UPSs. And it is YOUR responsibility to correctly size the UPS to YOUR needs. Not sure? ASK. This unit handles it's rated load (up to 480W) just fine. In terms of computers, thats an upper-midrange gaming system's wattage. I'm happy with this unit, as with all the other APC power products I've used over the years.

Good unit

Waited to submit my review until there was an actual power outage. Well,l the power went out for about 1 1/2 hrs last night, and the unit worked as advertised - the unit had kept the plugged-in accessories from powering down. The physical design of the unit is good; It fits on the desk nicely, and the plug spacing is well laid out. The back-up battery is easily replaceable if and when needed. The only minor shortcoming is the capacity; if accessories are drawing full power, you likely will have to power everything down within a few minutes. But I knew that when I bought it, so not the unit's fault. Would get five stars if the capacity was a bit bigger.

Good Product

The unit has worked flawlessly for over a month. Only time will tell how good the battery life is. The UPS arrived 2 days before the scheduled delivery, which was nice. Would have given it 5 stars, but the distance between outlets is too small. The power supply ( normal 5 v ) that I had to plug in still blocks the next receptacle.

Good, but not good enough

I bought three of this item. One is for my good friend and he needs it only at his brother laser printer. He connected his computer and monitor along with the laser printer on the battery backup outlets. But when the laser printer started up, the UPS led turned into yellow and kept beeping. Around 3 mins later, the computer shut down. What the....!!! It forced me to put the laser printer on to normal surge protection outlet.. Then, everything is fine...I gave 3 stars only because of its on sale price.

Seems OK

I have used APC for a number of years and the products seem ok except when the battery goes there is no warning. This product is very easy to install and use. The Monitor system seems to work well.

Lots of outlets

This UPS is good for short term electronics backup and is simple to set up. 6 UPS outlets plus 3 surge protected outlets are enough for most home applications and help to organize wiring. I got it on sale.
