Somewhat excessive, but perfect for what it does

While I despise Apple's marketing technique and use of third-world employees, you can't ignore their quality of product. The iPod Classic is the perfect mp3 player for someone who is not tech-savvy. The current user has so far found it very easy to operate and upload songs onto it. It's a shame Apple has a monopoly on the mp3 market, but they rightfully deserve it.

Ipod Classic

Having trouble trying to figure it out. Downloaded songs and movies. Had to buy a lot more extras to have this costly beast work. Not sure if worth the $ yet but i finally figured out how to work it in my car...personal best!

160GB Apple iPod Classic

i really like this product so far. its the first ipod i have had and there is a bit of a learning curve trying to figure out how to use it, but it has been pretty good (considering i have not looked at any instructions). it was easy to load and has a lot of space available for music etc. so i wont run out any time soon.

Lots of space, does what it says it does

I needed an Ipod that had lots of space so I chose the 160GB classic. My only complaint is that it doesn't really have any special features. It is not Bluetooth compatible but as far as playing music it's fine. It's very fast running, does not take long to charge, and synchs automatically with iTunes on my PC.

Great unit, huge memory.

The classic is easy to use. I have been converting old vinyl to mp3 using Audacity and an MP3 converter program and some song files are not picked up when I sync the iPod with iTunes on my MacBook Pro.

While the unit works well make sure that it never crashes. There is no way to backup this Ipod !! You are expected to keep all your music on your PC so with 360G you better have a big PC.

It's All About Disk Space

I wish Apple made the iPod Touch with this much disk space. I easily filled up the 160 GB with music. My dream machine would be a 2 TB iPod Touch.

The Best Value Ever

I bought my ipod classic at Costco five years ago when it first came out. Most people were amazed at the storage capacity and asked what I'd do with all that space. I now have 126 GB of music, audio books and family pictures. The first movie I downloaded was Mash, my favorite. While the screen is very small movies play clear and bright enough to watch in any airport lighting and on planes. I've downloaded many classic movies to play while waiting and flying. As I do with my audio books, as soon as I finish a current collection of movies I replace them with a new one. This device is rugged, small and sounds fantastic with a pair of Apple buds. The battery is still as good as when I first bought it. While the screen (and the back) has fine scratches from being in my pocket all these years the picture is still bright and clear. The primary use for my ipod is an audio book reader. When I start my daily, 90-minute walk I continue on the latest chapter of a book, strap on my sneakers and hit the street. Traffic noise is almost completely blocked out and the walk just doesn't seem to be the hour and a half long when I'm listening to a good spy or mystery book. It would be nice to have the touch screen design that my Android tablet has but for me there is more value in the small size, ruggedness, audio quality and video clarity.

Most underrated iPod ever

I've had a classic for over three years now, and it just died on me. And the only thing that broke was the headphone jack - it's just a little loose. I've dropped it dozens of times without a case, and I definitely got it wet more than once. This iPod is a tank, and it holds a ton of music, and podcasts, and tv shows, and movies. The video quality is really great, and for 250 bucks, you're getting more than your money's worth. Sure, you can buy an iPhone without the phone, but that just had a bunch of flashy little gadgets that make it look cooler. If you need to play music, this is your best bet.

The Perfect Ipod for music lovers

I've had an ipod classic for a long time, while the ipod touch has more features if you love music I reccomend getting this over the touch for a few reasons: -it's tougher: most of my friends who have the ipod touch or even an iphone have cracked the screens within the first few weeks after a 2 foot drop, my ipod is still completely intact after surviving several accidental drops more space: I have A LOT of music (15,000 songs to be exact) and only on this can I store them all more cost effective: sure its about 50 bucks more expensive than the 8 GB touch but it's cheaper than the 64 GB one, and with the 160 GB of space it seems like a better deal to me and if you want to use the apps on IOS to their full potential just get an ipad

Best iPod

This is by far one of the best iPods I bought, I tried the iPod touch and thought it was overrated, iPod classic holds up to 40,000 songs! That's crazy on its own! Battery Life is amazing, lasts up to 20 hrs of continuous music (Still can't comprehend how !) Overall the iPod classic is the best iPod out there.

Great Product, But

It's true to it's original ipod looks. Click wheel is easy to use for those of us who has been using it since the days when they first came out. Lots of storage for your songs. You can also store videos, but I wouldn't advice it since the screen is just too small. So everything is perfect right? Wrong. Since it is based on hard drive technology and not flash memory. Transition between songs can be a little laggy, but thats negligible. The only beef is because it's a hard drive sometimes there would be bad sectors. Which translate to problems which all hard drive based ipods are accustomed to. That is it skips some songs. Hopefully it does not skip your favourite song.

Lose the Wheel !!!

If Apple did away with the wheel, and made the screen the entire surface of the device, it would of been infinitely more useful. As it is, watching video on it is a non-starter due to the weeny screen size. If Apple really wanted to make it "must by" they would add the iTouch interface to a 160 Gig product...but they insist of keeping what should be an obvious marriage...quite divorced. They may do it eventually, but will charge twice what this device costs, and only after everyone has already spent their money of seperate devices. If you want a device that will play 100,000 songs buy this...if you want it for video or pictures, why bother !?!?!?!

Amazing iPod

By far one of the best iPod's in my opinion. The wheel is a bit hard to use at first but you get used to it quickly. Honestly, this ipod is the best bang for your buck... your getting 160gb of space for less than 3 bills, awsome deal in my eyes. Only downside is its nearly impossible to find a case for this bad boy and when you do their expensive and not worth the price.

Best Ipod ever

I agree, I can hold my extensive music collection on this. Easy to use, sounds wonderful and no glitches. I have owned this since it first came out September 2009. Tons of battery life. Don't have a bad thing to say.
