Finally a great Laptop!

The price for a laptop always seemed to be too high for me. But after much hesitation on whether or not to spend the money and with guidance from my IT guy Mark, I bought it. I wish I had bought it many, many years ago. It takes a bit of time to get used to compared to a regular laptop but once you do, it's fantastic. I would recommend the MacBook Pro to everyone.

First Time Mac Owner

I have always wanted to buy a Mac but money was tight so I always chickened out when it came to the price. Last week after my laptop stopped working, I finally had enough and bought this MacBook. I will admit there is a bit of a learning curve at first, but once you figure it out and get the hang of it, you really start to enjoy and admire the quality of the MacBook. My only gripe about the MacBook is that there is no HDMI output. There is however an adapter you can buy to allow for HDMI output. That is the only issue I had, other than that I am extremely happy with my purchase. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting this MacBook Pro, it is a high quality laptop and has everything you need and then some when it comes to laptops. You will NOT be disappointed with this purchase!

Good machine but expect more for the price

Really a good purchase than I thought. Only concern is the software of mac is more expensive than the windows. Why? Already we pay more for this machine. I believe there is no virus protection in macs which is not necessary to purchase but all other software is expensive than windows. When u compare windows laptops it is pretty much same expense in 4 yrs. if u buy a mac no problem in 4-5 yrs but it'll cost the same amount of everything in windows for within 4-5 yrs each year.

Really an amazing machine. I like it. When seeing reviews didn't feel any until I got this. It's taking most of my time and saving lots of time by speed in everything and easy to use. I'm very proud to recommend it to any age group people

great switch

We recently had to switch from the windows based machines and are so happy we did. The mac is performing flawless, it is surprising us how similar and easy it is to use. So far the experience has been great and when we replace any others in future it will be with a mac.

great laptop

i have an iMac and a windows laptop.I don't see the windows laptop much as it is always in getting fixed... the rest of the family has taken over the older iMac and prefer it. So i picked this up for work and play. I wish it didn't cost so much but i guess for such great quality it is worth it. My iMac is almost 10 years old and has only needed to be taken in to be fixed once...any windows products i have had don't make it to the 5 year mark.

sturdy litlle computer

I drag my MacBook with me everywhere and it gets more than its share of getting knocked around, spilled on etc. You couldn't pay me big enough bucks to go back to a PC again. The only weakness is the cord - which you'll likely have to replace at least once because the plastic splits exposing wire if you fold it into your back pack often enough. . Also Sharpie your initials onto your cord because other Mac users seem to leave the room with any Mac cord on hand - like the newest.

Just an amazing buy

I bought this laptop back in March of 2013. I was going back an forth between this model and the new Retina display one. I didn't need the more expensive one, so I went with this. It turns out that this was probably one of the best purchases I have ever made in my life (besides a vehicle). I cannot even begin to explain how reliable this MacBook Pro model really is. Compared to a PC laptop, it is light-years better in every aspect. I will NEVER go back to using a PC again. It is worth every penny I spent. It's ease of use is another thing that made the switch smooth to me. I first thought to myself that I would have to get help or watch tutorials on how to use this thing, but I was wrong. It was so easy to understand and navigate through from the moment I pressed the power button on. I HIGHLY suggest buying this laptop, or any Apple computer/product for that matter. They last a life time, or at least it seems that way so far. Cheers!

Excellent Product

I had a friend who lent me his Macbook for about 7 months so I could use it for a video he wanted to create and me being one of those video tech guys. I wanted to also test out new apps like iPhoto, iWeb, iMovie for something different. I have always been a PC person until I used a MacBook. They are more reliable, neat design, and overall a great machine to use. I am handing his Macbook back to him soon, then picking up my own Macbook!

Not Complaining

I recently bought my first Macbook and instantly fell in love with it. About a week beforehand I bought an HP Envy 15.6" and I thought it was great at the time and it worked well for a few days until I got home from a trip. The wifi card was just horrible in it and would not connect to my wifi at home but somehow connected to my hotels before. I ended up rebuilding it and it still would not give. Endless to say I returned it and bought the Macbook Pro. It is the most simplest computer to use. I have an iPad and an iPhone as well so that may have given me a head start. This computer is very compatible for students! Love it :)

GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

This is my first Mac and let me tell you you get what you pay for I was sceptical at the initial price tag as well. It turns out every thing about the Mac is better the build quality is the best in the business. Comes with full featured programs that are great Do not need to worry about virus issues. Does not come loaded with junk and stuff running that slows down your computer. Doing stuff coping or moving a lot of big files took 30 minutes on my quad core pc it only took 12 minutes on the Mac.

I can't believe I waited this long

There really is a reason why all you see are Macbooks at your local Starbucks. Yes, it's trendy and hip, but really, the Mac works seamlessly and flawlessly. Start up and waking up from sleep is incredibly fast. The battery life on this thing is awesome, even thought I'm mostly using it as a desktop connected to an external monitor. Having used PCs up until now, switching over to the Mac OSX was a bit of a learning curve. Two weeks later, I'm still exploring apps and functions and shortcuts. Apple really does think of everything - just as an example, when you download a (legal) song, it automatically knows to open it through iTunes. No more copying and pasting it from your downloads folder! I've always held back because of the price, but given all the headaches I've had with PCs in the past, I'm looking forward to using this as a long-term investment. And with Google Docs and other Apple apps, I haven't yet had to purchase Microsoft Office for this yet. Very happy with the decision to go with Mac.

Unbeatable

This is an awesome laptop! Buy it! I know people would be like, "oh Apple fanboy on the block!", but I have had this macbook for almost a year now and I never had a problem. The OS is one of the best out there! No annoying Microsoft like updates, blue screen errors, and some other problems with PC. It is fast, and no lags or whatsoever. The most basic version is enough. 4GB of RAM is enough for me, and I use it everyday for intensive graphics as I am a graphic designer. Although, it is pretty heavy in the backpack. Quite frankly, for the money you are paying for, it is the best value for you buck...

Fantastic

Was always a Pc user until I bought this machine, This is my first Apple will never buy another Windows laptop again. Everything from how Mac runs to how it is constructed is better, you start to notice how much better they are right away the minute you boot it up more efficient, quicker, faster a lot more stable the computer is solid polished aluminium no plastic, very quite no fan noise on the mac at all no registry no need for an anti virus I could go on and on why they are better they can even run Windows AWESOME COMPUTER

Pretty, but slow

We had high expectations for this, as there were some good reviews here We were disappointed with the speed of this. It was outperformed by a 2 year-old laptop that cost (when new), and even came with Windows (you have to pay extra to get Windows with this thing, if you want them, which-trust me-you do). The Mac OSX operating system is pretty, but many things which we took for granted with our Windows machines are simply missing on OSX (we confirmed this by calling their support), and the operating system is counter-intuitive for anything but the most-basic usage (like surfing the web or using Office). The laptop also crashed on us almost every day. We replaced it at the store for another one after a few days, which improved the situation, but it still crashed 3 times in a week. Battery life was good (but not the best) for a laptop. Bottom line, even with its looks, it's not worth bothering with. You can get something much-better, more reliable and faster (albeit most other laptops aren't as pretty) for the money. Or pay a bit more and get something that looks just as good, but comes with reliability and speed and Windows. We returned this.

You Get What You Pay For.

I bought the MacBook Pro recently because I was interested in writing code for the iTunes app store, and also heard that Apple makes a reliable computer. All I have to say is, you get what you pay for. Everything is amazing, I know some people might not like the fact that it is 13.3 inches, but trust me, it is big enough to meet most peoples daily needs. This laptop is also perfect for school!

Questionable

I bought my MacBook Pro a little over 3 years ago. I loved it - great design, really fast, no worry about viruses. One week after my extended warranty ran out it failed. Needed a new hard drive. Two days later computer wouldn't start again - Logic Board was fried. Apple says my computer is unrepairable and unuseable. Sorry about your luck but you'll have to buy a new one. A great looking product but I've owned much cheaper laptops that have out lived the MacBook three times over. I understand this is typical with Apple computers - wish I knew that before I bought it. If money isn't an issue then this is the computer for you. I just can't justify buying another one at this price for a useful life of 3 years.

MacBook Pro 13"

This is my first Apple computer and it has not disappointed! Ease of use, features available and sleek design are unmatched. You only have to play with it for a few minutes to realize the superior craftsmanship to the PC. No issues with virus's...I'll take that any day! The only thing it misses as with standard software is the Microsoft Word Pro and Excel applications which I will have to get as an add on. Overall I have more than happy with this purchase!

NEVER GOING BACK TO PC.....EVER

When my dumb old dell inspiron was failing me I decided to get a new laptop with windows 8 and a touch screen because they were just so cool and promised myself I'd never get a Mac because of things I heard about them being overpriced for no reason. After weeks of research I had my heart set on either the HP envy 4 touchsmart ultrabook (because of the hybrid SSD drive speed advantage) or the HP envy m6 (because of it's great specs: i7, 8gb ram, 1tb hard drive, graphics card, etc). I was ready to buy, until I walked into apple. I decided to just look around and after the demo of OS X mountain lion and the power, speed and must have beauty of the machine I found myself walking out of apple with this particular model in hand (13.3" mbp with 4gb ram, 500gb hard drive, and core i5). Before I bought it I was a little iffy about the spec to price ratio because I can get a PC like the envy m6 with double the ram, double the hard drive and the i7 plus a graphics card for much less, BUT LET ME TELL YOU THIS THING CAN TAKE EVERYTHING YOU THROW AT IT! They are much much better built than stupid PC's, they don't break down, they never get viruses, their OS is much more stable and the machine is just a powerhouse. THE PRICE IS INTIMIDATING BUT WELL WORTH IT, and apple service and customer satisfaction is absolutely incredible. These guys will do anything to make you leave happy. After the first few days of owning my MBP for example, I got a HUGE scratch on the lid because I carelessly put it in a drawer with no case. I nearly went into a depression knowing I'd have to live with a giant black gash on the lid after paying for it. So I went to apple and asked the genius guy if there's anything he can do. He told me the warranty does not cover cosmetics and I'd have to live with it. However just when I was about to leave the store the man came after me and took a long look at the scratch and told me it was bothering HIM because the laptop was just bought days before. So he lied to the people in the back that the laptop had an internal problem and told them that a replacement was needed for me. THIS MAN RISKED HIS JOB JUST SO I CAN BE HAPPY. HE REPLACED THE WHOLE MACHINE NO CHARGE NO NOTHING. This is why apple is practically running the tech world right now. I bet anything that if this same thing happened to an HP, dell, etc, they would laugh at you an tell you too bad. From now on I'm only buying apple. AMAZING PRODUCTS! AMAZING SERVICE! THE BEST OF THE BEST! NEVER EVEN GOING NEAR A PC AGAIN!

AMAZING!

Superb laptop. Runs really quiet, tested it for hours of hd and heavy usage, nothing makes the fan go loud. Everything super fast, super efficient, super quiet and sleek! I love my new 2.5 ghz macbook pro! Don't wait, get it while it lasts! Only doubt about the laptop is, no hdmi and screen resolution is low. Which means black sections on top and below of video streaming, viewing does display and may bother some users. But no problem, as long as its quiet and no over heating is involved, your good to go!

Overpriced, even taking nice finish into account

I thought I wrote a review for this before, but maybe it got taken off. There is not much fundamentally wrong with this laptop. Then again, there is nothing that justifies it being priced at twice comparable laptops. Some of those should be ignored (Acer, for example, has been quite problematic at my workplace), whereas others, like Asus, Sony and Lenovo, which are priced at about half, AND come with Windows (which you would need to buy for this machine, or be stuck with OSx, which is a toy, when it comes to any serious work). Yes, this is made of aluminum, and is pretty, but I wouldn't pay double for that privilege. Especially when Lenovo and Asus are more reliable to boot, and if you are willing to pay a bit more for their more-expensive offerings, end up looking good, and weighing less too, like the MacBook.

I just bought my macbook pro last week and I love it so far. It performs very smoothly unlike the windows laptop I switched over from. Only downside is it is a little expensive and it should come with a sleeve or something since it seems it would get scratched easily and for that price tag.

Don't Wait just get one

Yep you pay a little more than a PC but once you have it you will never go back. Fed up of having to rebuild PC's because of issues, no more with the Mac. I was doubtful like "EVERYONE ELSE". When you put it to sleep it is in sleep mode in seconds, no waiting for windows to update... Well worth the money, excellent design, great software, great App store, great display, lightening quick, Will never go back, thanks Apple for just making things work and making using a computer enjoyable again not a chore. Best electronic product i have most likely ever purchased
