Good Machine

It's my first experience on Mac so I was worried about the performance display storage etc. But after using this machine I do recommend it. It's smooth in use, graphics and sound quality is awesome. I ran multiple applications at a time but it never halts. So thumbs up for this machine. :)

Once you go Mac you won't ever go back!

I've been a windows person since I ever know it but after witching over to a Mac last week I realize the big fuzz and what I've been missing. Amazing laptop from all perspective not to mention the OS. Seamlessly get work done and have ample amount of battery life left not to mention the amazing crystal clear screen! I definitely recommend this laptop to everyone. Worth every dollar! :)

Macbook pro VS Windows laptop

I am a retired IT professional and used both Windows and Mac laptops. What is bothering me in these reviews is people bashing at Windows laptops and their speed. Please compare laptops in the same price range. (For [price] you can get a top of the line Windows laptop) One of the most important component for speed is the Solid State Hard drive. This associated with an adequate amount of memory will make any laptop flying. I upgraded my Macbook with 512Gb SSD and 16Gb memory and compared to my HP Elitebook with only 8Gb memory and the same SSD drive, I don't see any difference in performance. In fact I am selling the Macbook... Why? It's heavy, has a glossy screen and cannot be used outside when the sun is shinning, has only 2 USB ports so close together that it's impossible to insert 2 USB standard keys at the same time, needs an adapter if you want to plug it to an external monitor and since the update to El Captain, the Firewire to HDMI doesn't work anymore. This is the reason why my rating is only 3 stars.

  • from Brampton, ON

Durable but has connectivity issues

It would have been a good product, if it did not have so many wfi connection issues. It does not connect properly to public wifi. It is good for somebody who has used apple computers. For windows users it would take time to get used to.

  • from Stettler, AB

Best laptop you can buy.

The price you pay is 100% worth the amazing laptop you get. Way better than my old asus and better than any windows machine I've used. Mac is the way to go.

Best laptop I've ever owned

Have had this macbook for a year. Works very well with no issues. Updates are fast and painless. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Great laptop!

This MacBook is the best laptop ever! It has amazing graphics, the trackpad is so amazing and is much thinner and lighter than any other windows laptop I've seen! I totally recommend this item especially if your in high school or going into high school because it's perfect! The keyboard is so smooth and when your typing the keys don't make a lot of noise like a windows laptop. This MacBook Pro does last a lot longer than most windows computers and laptops. Also the charger is a lot better because the windows chargers have a big long brick and tons of different cords which can get very easily tangled and very frustrating at times when you have to quickly plug it in. The MacBook charger has 1 cord with a small charging brick which will not as easily get tangled because on the smaller brick there's little pegs which you can wrap the cord around to not make it tangled. Also the tip of the charger is magnetic so you don't have to put ANY pressure to push it in to charge it. With windows the charger you have to push it in pretty hard to let it charge. Plus there are also so many accessories for MacBooks like keyboard covers, cases and stickers. For windows I've never seen a case or a keyboard cover. If you are trying to convince your parents to get you this its totally worth the money! If you have a windows computer and it's breaks, you would need to get a new one which the price of those 2 windows laptops added together would probably be more than the price of this MacBook. Also these MacBooks would last longer than Windows computers.

Best machine ever

One reasons why a MAC machines are generally better than same class PC, can be summarized in one famous quote from Alan Kay: "People who are really serious about software should make their own hardware." And this is true about apple products, In addition, apple uses premium quality hardware components like high capacity battery (74.9 watt hour battery), high bandwidth RAM (1866 MHz), and PCIe storage, thats why its price SEEMS to be higher than other machines.

Awesome Computer...

This is my second Mac but this is by far better than the last one .... I'm really impressed with its design and speed.... I'm quite happy with this purchase because now i can edit all my Gopro videos/photos...the drive is a little small but the external hard drives come in handy.

  • from Mississauga, ON

Beautiful and sophisticated machine

Money is well spent on a machine like this. It looks and feels like a starship compared to clunky PC laptops. Starts up instantly from sleep, like an iPhone. Lightweight and easy to hold and carry. It's silent as a jungle cat. It's too bad Apple ran out of feline names, really, because one of the big cats would have been really appropriate here. Perhaps the only complaint I have is that the clamshell design is a little _too_ elegant: it's a little difficult to get a solid grip on the edge of the lid when you're trying to pry it open. But once it is open, you just want to keep working on it.

My first mac

Always been a PC guy, have a custom desktop at home that runs insane specs. However decided to try something different. Have an apple tv and an iphone so discovering how well this fits into the mac infrastructure was easy and fascinating. Been using it for three months now and am enjoying it very much.

Great Product

If you decide to purchase this product, you won't be disappointed. My first Mac and what an improvement over a PC. Not having to buy virus protection annually is a positive. The screen is awesome and the speed is perfect for my needs. Overall, I'm am very pleased with the unit and hope to upgrade to the 15" in a year.

  • from Toronto, ON

Outstanding Laptop

I've used PC's all my life until now and wished that I made the change sooner. My kids convinced me to go with a Macbook Pro and I couldn't be happier. I could have purchased something else a little cheaper but I really think that the extra money was money well spent. Outstanding laptop. I recommend to anyone considering buying one should do so. They'll have no regrets.

Love this laptop...

These are the best doubt...I am glad i converted everything over to Mac World...It's so much easier.!!

Apple MacBook Pro 13

My kids have been asking for a year for this one. I bought 2 this year. As they were on Sony Vaio before. They really like this laptop because of the size of this one. Secondly there is no virus issues on Mac which relieves me of much to do on them. Size is good and finish is very nice. If you like big screens maybe this one may not be a good fit for you as this is not very small but small and portable. That's what laptop is suppose to be. Excellent product, but I recommend to buy Apple Care from apple for their's a bit costly to begin with but saves you alot down the road. That can be bought by calling apple directly. It's a great product!!!

  • from Toronto, ON

Apple Fan

I've had macbooks in the past and this is the best yet. -Sleek design -Much lighter -Better battery life -Love that it Airplays to Apple TV Good value, but of course even better to get it on sale!

  • from Saskatoon, SK

Amazing Product

Bought this yesterday and was pretty amazed on how it works. Super fast, light and did I say it looks amazingly good!

  • from Mississauga, ON

Not as bad

This is my first time buying a apple laptop! Overall the laptop is great but there are somethings that are very bad, like how it doesn't have a optical drive and if you want one you have to buy a external one for over [price]. The display is great and I'm enjoying it!Would reccomend to people who are very business savvy, would prefer a windows laptop because of the price, its incredibly expensive, I say this laptop is more of a want then a need.

  • from Etobicoke, ON

Great Buy

Bought this laptop on boxing day and so far I love it! Great graphics and the battery life is phenomenal! I've been using it every day so far for hours at a time and it still has a lot of life left. I also love the display and overall layout of it and the picture quality is fantastic. Overall, amazing purchase.

  • from Markham, ON

I switched from a PC to this, comparing to a PC, it looks better, works faster, and is lighter.

Got it on sale, great buy!

A good apple product as always

i have been using apple products from a long time and this one, again met my expectations. Amazing screen, decent price, high speed, no lags, long battery life and many more features makes this particular product better than others available in market. One thing which i would like apple to improve on this product is the Keyboard size which didn't meet my expectations. It should have been a bit more wide with a slight better space in between keys. It would have avoided the problem of people pressing multiple adjacent keys at times. Overall a decent apple product and totally recommended to everyone.

  • from Brampton

great laptop

it's a great laptop I bought it on boxing day in best buy store and I had experience no lag in the OS and the macbook is superb in all respect.

  • from Lethbridge, AB

Amazing Laptop

I have been using this laptop for few months. It is awesome, its graphics is really sharp, too fast, very light in wight more important is that its battery power is very long. Over all I am happy.

  • from North Bay, ON

Great machine!

These macs are the best ever! The reason they boot up and shut down so quickly is because they are totally solid–state! The 128GB drive is a bit on the small side but there are those that don't need much more. This is the entry level machine. Buying an external drive is cheaper than the cost required to upgrade it at the time of purchase, but don't forget... a 1TB external drive is NOT solid–state! That is the difference! Apps and data load so quickly with an SSD, so it defeats the purpose to slow it down with an external drive for daily use. An external drive should only be used for backup purposes.

  • from Whitehorse

Phenomenal Laptop

I was absolutely stunned on how amazing this laptop was. While some may complain it has a lower RAM and a "subpar" graphic card, this laptop blew me away. It is super quick and can efficiently preform tasks. Never again will I go to a PC after this laptop. It has a great battery life and by far is the best laptop I've owned. Don't let poor reviews fool you. They tend to cling onto tradition of PC and want to find excuses to prove their point. Whether you surf the web, do gaming, or need something for school, this laptop is perfect for you!

  • from Saint Catharines, ON

Great laptop- dont let the bad reviews fool you

I had a windows laptop and now i have this. this blows my old laptop out of the water. the screen is great, and it has decent graphics. May want to consider a larger hard drive tho. Other then that, really good computer

I bought it because of long battery. It is a good choice for student, especially for reading ebook. I love it.

MacBook Pro the Best!

Comparing MacBook to PC in terms of amount of RAM, CPU is pretty much useless. From my experience, this MacBook Pro is a whole lot faster than any PC that I have ever had. PCs age fast and lose its value even faster! I will probably never go back to Windows.

  • from Kitchener, ON

iMac pro

This is a fast computer for surfing the internet and editing photographs.

  • from Toronto, ON

Victims to brand

Honestly people look at the specs to its value. The hard drive is small, it has very little amount of ram, the processor is slow, the graphics card is sub par, but I guess it will get the job done if all you do is just surf. The only positive thing I can say is, it has a good display resolution. Company logos aren't everything, and do not excude them as being in the same league as others, do your homework before making the investment.

Excellent for the right user

This is the first Mac that I have ever used - my whole life I have been a Windows/Linux user just for a bit of detail. I mostly wanted to make this review to counter balance the pointless "Mac sucks" ones that are out there. I bought this because I needed something that I could move around with easily, was optimized and could handle the tasks that I was throwing at it. I'm a programmer and this strikes the perfect balance between a Linux and Windows environment - while maintaining the ability to squeeze in some fun in between. The build quality is amazing and the optimization of the hardware and software is next to none. Don't let anyone tell you that the computer "sucks" because that just isn't the case. Do research though - depending on what you want to do something else might make sense for you.

  • from London, ON

Mostly impressed

I got this macbook as an exchange because my old macbook pro decided to keep crashing and Best Buy wasn't able to fix it...I decided to try out the newer model with Retina because I was told that there is a lesser chance of it having similar problems to my old far i'm pretty impressed...the start up and opening of apps is crazy fast and impressive...I do not get the spinning colour wheel as often (still happens once in a while but very rarely)...My one one huge complaint about this machine is the size of its Hard Drive....128gb is not very big and i wonder if that is primarily why there are less problems because there is less storage space meaning less pics, docs, etc stored on the actual upgrade to the 250gb is about 300 more for the exact same machine with just a larger me u can buy a 1TB hard drive for about 100 or y spend the extra money for extra storage when that storage is still not that significant??? I have to say i'm not a fan of the new power cord it falls out extremely easy cause it sticks out more than the old one...I also wish this was not changed cause I now have an extra power cord that is useless for this mac...but that is a minor complaint...overall i love the design but feel that this mac should not be as expensive as it is cause of such a small HD...but since mine was an exchange and I only had to pay a small about to upgrade to this model it was well worth it!

Best. All I have to say

Rowdy laptop

  • from

Very, very, VERY good laptop

Well I was a pic user and I had really no problem with it it could do everything I needed. But after a few years when I got my windows laptop I got many viruses I even needed to change the OS because of it. Then I reached high school and thought I cant use a worn out laptop so I bought the Mac. When I opened the box I wasn't that surprised but when I turned that bad boy up I was blown away the start up time very quick response of jesters very very good, but the most important of all it handled all the school work I threw at it like a Bose. If you or anyone wants to buy a laptop buy this. It is the only computer/laptop you will ever need.?

Im always a pc user in my life. When I bought my first macbook pro last July 2 2015 and it did not disappointment my expectations. It will only take less than 5 seconds to boot up and I'm pretty impressed with the new force touch pad on it. Money well spent on these machines. As they say once you go mac you will not go back.
