With a quick connection to your Mac's USB port, the Apple SuperDrive is the perfect companion that lets you install software, or play or burn CDs and DVDs. And the best part is that it's only slightly bigger than a CD case.

Invest Elsewhere for a Better Experience

As mentioned the price is up to the high standards set by Apple, but the product is hardly worth it when compared to other options presented by other brands. Aside from the occasional tantrum during which discs aren't accepted to begin with or get rejected after a few whirring sounds of contemplation - this cord has sadly followed my previous experience with Apple cords and their shotty connectivity setting in just after the 1-year mark. I'm incredibly annoyed with this product and advise against wasting your money - even if it means compromising on the seamless look alongside your macbook that your Apple-vanity demands.

Apple USB The Superdrive

Yes Apple has done it again made the computer smaller lighter and so on. So this means after spending [$price] on a MacBook Pro you get to spend another [$price] on a device to burn files. The device works fine easy to hook up but was expecting a faster DVD burn speed One good think is if you burn a ton of disc when the Superdrive burns out all you have to do is replace an external unit

So much trouble ejecting

So expensive, yes MacBooks recognize it instantly and there's no need to install, but there's no eject button on it, and discs get stuck all the time. If the CD stops spinning because it's been in the drive and not being used for a while, you'll be working for at least 5 minutes just finding way to eject. Buy one of the other ones. Trust me. Save your money. Reviews everywhere else will show I'm not alone in this.

Great for the cash. I use it with my Mac Mini. It's small and portable. You can watch dvd's right on your tv. I would recommend getting one if you own a Mac Mini or Air.

Apple USB Superdrive

Great little drive! I have a MacBook Air so there was no drive built in, thus the need to buy one. Very compact and only need to attach to my computer on a need to use basis. Would recommend this to all MacBook Air owners!
