What a steal!

This is a solid purchase. I use this for day-to-day tasks such as writing reports and e-mails. I also stream videos on YouTube. I'm not very picky about the quality of the video or webcam as it is only [price]!

Nice little computer

Battery lasts over 10 hours, uses web based apps very nicely. Will probably buy one for my kids too.

Great for Students

Bought one of these almost a year ago for my son for high school to carry in his backpack all week. Chrome system works great for him especially as most school work is done one Google class room, so no worries with silly Windows updates interrupting the school day. Battery life is great, lasts whole school day (up to 13 hours as per specs). Just bought another one for his brother. When I bought the first one, there were tons of ratings, all in 4-5 star, and for what I see that is still true with the newer version. This now seems just a newer model, no changes....Best Buy specs lists the new model with an Ethernet port, which it does NOT have, old one did not have it either.... Only thing, the charger is not micro USB and only comes from Asus. We had not problems with ours so far. Again, great carry around laptop alternative for a reasonable price for students, who work mostly on Google apps.

Got it 6 months ago, works just fine

Lol, I don't know what the other peoples who reviewed this product thought they were buying, but it works great for me. The charge lasts about 9 hrs+ depending on your brightness setting, the Display looks and feels nice, the keyboard is decent, the touch-pad is responsive and all the ports and buttons work fine. For the other reviewers, if you leave any charger plugged in for a few days (like they probably did) or you plug it into an outlet of the wrong voltage, then of course the charger is going to overheat. And I can't stop laughing at the other ones comment of how useless it is without wi-fi! Of course it depends on wi-fi, thats the standard definition of a netbook! LOL. anyway, good product, decent price. I enjoy mine.

Great Chromebook

For anyone who buys one of these and doesn't know what a Chromebook is don't get upset when you find out it is not useful when not connected to WiFi, that's the point people... A really nice little chromebook, looks great in navy blue and it is way way faster than any windows laptop for the price range

Great Chromebook

First of all, anyone who buys a chrome book thinking it is a laptop is completely foolish. You need an internet connection for it to function, that is how they operate. Other than that love the device, for the price point it feels and acts a lot better than what you would expect for the money.

Great Value!

I have had this chrome book for about 8 months! It's a great size, portable, use it at my college courses! Of course Wi-Fi is needed, it's a chrome book! There are probably fancier or maybe faster chrome books out there but , for what I needed, this has been a Good buy for the money!

Pretty darn good

I bought my chromebook on a black friday sale. It was affordable, attractive and simply fit the needs for my work. Its definitely not great for any games. Like at all. It's perfect for researching, writing out reports, essays, blah blah blah blah. Pretty much does the rudimentary thing all computers should be able to do. My only complaints are when I am on social media, scrolling to fast or clicking to many things, the pages crash. Kind of annoying but it only happens occasionally. Secondly, it is not as blue as it looks in the picture. Its way darker. Plus the camera sucks, (But lets be honest, nobody should be trying to take quality photos with a Chromebook. Just get a camera.) Video chatting is not grade A either. Other than that, the battery life and charging time is incredible! It charges in no time at all and practically lasts all day! I thought it was going to be too fragile to carry around, but its quite the robust machine. Not to mention I'm able to access my google docs without wifi. For the price I got it at, and the way it works, it's really helpful. (Btw, if your looking to buy this for a kid, than stop. I know I said it was pretty robust, but kids are a whole different story. This thing can handle being jostled around a backpack and tossed onto sofas, not mini humans.)

holds up to daily student use

Love this device -- it is even much lighter, sleeker and faster than our school board's current brand. I bought a couple out of my own pocket to supplement my class' allocation, and these ASUS ones are the ones my student rush to grab first. They've had a lot of attention (re: USE) since I bought them before Christmas - and they have held up to near constant use over the last 4 months. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Other reviewers who state that this product is useless without WiFi don't understand what a chromebook is for -- this is NOT a laptop, it is a cheap way to get tech into the hands of all students. Yes, you do need the internet to use a Google Drive since it lives on the web.

Great little laptop

It's a good price and much better than a tablet in my opinion. Does what it should and really user friendly. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants it for basic use, YouTube/email/facebook Google docs etc. I also use it for streaming Enjoy

charger issues after 2 months

recognize this is a cheap chromebook but didn't think of it as a disposable version. charger stopped working after 2 months - none available to buy at best buy, only option is to send chromebook in to Asus.
