sad

well i purchased this router last year and it work great. now that we have moved it's had nothing but problems. dropping signals too many times to count every day. at the [price] price point i would never expected that. now as i check the forums there are so many upset people with the dropping of connection its not funny. I'm sad to say that i'm now out looking for a new router which means more [price] again. :(

Asus Rt66R very good

The router got a good review and I had everything setup & working in 20 minutes, very easy and that included the extra tweaks needed to get US programming in Canada, Netflix etc... after 3 days the wifi and internet have been steady with no wifi dropouts or disconnects, router is in the basement and wifi reaches all areas of my house including the garage. The router performs well and I would recommend

Strong signal and easy to install

Installation was easy, and performance was good, too. Bought it when it was [price]. Can't go wrong with this item. My friends and friends's friends all bought this router and they loved it.

Great

I bought this router over two years ago and it's been simply amazing! No issues at all. Simply great . This is the best I have seen of routers.

best router there is

this is the standard for which other routers have tried to mimic. I have 18 devices connected to this and never had an issue, Update the firmare and enjoy worry free routing. I never get weak wireless signals in my home. This router sets up in a few minutes. There are tons of tweaks available for the tech savvy.

Best router out there, so far

First off let me say i read a lot of reviews before ordering this router kind of scared about all the bad reviews, i just used this router to replace my Bell FibreOp router, do not regret it at all, this routers range is 3x more then my old router and 10x faster. easy to configure i had to setup the IPTV port and mac/vlan IDs. no issues at all. so far this router is perfect best one iv had in a while.

Avoid ASUS

I bought this 2 years ago, it was bad to begin with as after two months, it stop working so I have to send it back to ASUS to fix it. after than it only last for another 18 months and it completely stop working. There is no wifi signals at all. Not impress with it. I had Linksys WRT 350N and this thing last for abiout 10 years. Avoid ASUS.....

Simply the best router out right now.

Got this router to replace a "name brand" router from one of the big networking companies. I switched to Asus as they are newer to the game and I wanted to see what they can do compared to the established players. Getting this router was probably the best 10 minute decision I've ever made. The signal strength is incredible, however, even if you don't have full signal you'll still get VERY high (up to 50 mbps) transfer rates! I tweaked the antennas that come with the router and now I'm getting 80%+ signal everywhere in my house and the router is in the basement (not the best idea)! Setup is easier, just like everyone is saying, and the hardware supports more features than I've ever seen. Not only is this a router, but it can be converted into a iTunes server, a media server, a wireless repeater/AP and of course a traditional router. INCREDIBLE! If you can find something you can't do with this router, let me know.

Good upgrade

Upgraded from an old D-link... once I set up my setting properly, the system purred like a kitten. Good signal strength and comes with some really nice features. Such as, guest login and monitoring. You get what you pay for with electronics, so if you buy this unit you will not be disappointed.

Great value for money

Bought this router to replace an old one and extend coverage - I needed to cover my little office as well as large Amenity Room next door and large Gym one floor up. This device provides stable connection in all desired areas and the reviews don't lie that it has one of the best ranges, especially if your device supports 5G that is not messed with many other networks (as in my residential building). Easy setup, supports multiple SSIDs to separate "private" and "guest" network. So far I haven't tried the USB ports, but otherwise the device met my requirements to have coverage over large area with good and stable connection, for sure good device to cover areas even on multiple floors (at least in a wooden structure building :)) I used Asus brand before and they do good products, I highly recommend this brand.

Solid router, great for DD-WRT!

I've been a huge fan of DD-WRT for many years since it gives me the flexibility I'm looking for. This router has it all, and is DD-WRT compatible -- it is identical to the RT-AC66U model. I even have a 32GB micro flash USB stick mounted to JFFS memory to run scripts to configure my network accordingly. Simply a powerful router. If you're not looking to do anything advanced with third-party firmware, the built-in ASUS firmware seems to be very intuitive and pleasant to work with, with a ton of features, however I never use stock firmware so I don't have too much of an opinion of any of the added ASUS value there. This was a nice upgrade, though it was unexpected when my previous router bit the dust (it was it's time to go). Would definitely pick up one of these again. ASUS is doing some great stuff lately!

Fantastic Router - Speed, Reliability and Security

Just set-up this router to replace what was supposed to be a high-end 2 year old router from a competitor (that shall remain nameless) and that my ISP kept insisting needed a firmware upgrade and disabled UPnP. The install is incredibly easy thanks to the Graphical User Interface (GUI). From the main page, the GUI walks you through step-by-step on the SSID, Encryption and Password and then allows you to copy it from 2.4GHz to 5.0 GHz. Also from the main page, it shows your connection to the internet as well as what devices are connected. Note that mine kept asking for a firmware update, but when clicking the link it didn't work. I confirmed with ASUS (after registering the product), that a firmware upgrade was not necessary at the time. Customer Service also walked me through disabling UPnP and enabling DoS protection. Fantastic router and I no longer get those annoying emails from my ISP.

Great router!

This router is one of the best looking routers I've ever seen! Not only does it look good but the installation was easy and now my online gaming is much smoother with no lagging or dropped games. I would recommend this router to any online gamer. If you don't play online games or download lots of movies then I would recommend a cheaper router.
