I wish I had just built my own machine... Asus used to make awesome machines, I've built a few PC's using Asus motherboards and such and they were good machines. This PC, not so much!
Sold as a gaming machine, it's not really up to the task. Not sure if I got a bad one or not, but just playing a simple game like WoW causes the fans to spool up like a leer jet unless you have it on low graphics settings. I'm also getting what could be coil whine (or possibly something more ominous) out of the video card. I've also had the display driver konk out a few times while in game and surfing the web, and it usually dumps me back to the desktop. Not sure if this is a Windows driver thing, or a vid card occasionally konking out thing?
It has run everything I've thrown at it though, even the new Doom on fairly high settings. Sadly it's so darn loud you almost have to put it in another room! I wish I had returned it in the first two weeks and gotten something else, but I live out of town so it's not very convenient.
Guess I'll just put up with the noise and instability for now and hope that when it craters it's still under warranty! Can't see this being a long lived machine though. I definitely wouldn't recommend it, even on sale!
Bought one on sale but It didn't recognize monitor.
I have 2 monitor, one with HDMI the other one with VGA.
it doesn't recognize both of them.
I brought back to Best buy to change it.
2nd one has same problem.
I call Asus customer service.
They said It defective product so I should send to Asus.
but I already gave up to keep Asus.
I'll bring back to Best buy.
I don't want to pay shipping....
overall good PC just needs better graphics fan gets loud on ultra settings.
Great bang for the buck. I picked it up on sale for a decent gaming system with an eye for future expansion into VR. It's easily upgradable power supply and video, but the R9 370 is capable for most titles. Also suited for video editing. The bios issue has been fixed so disregard all the 1 star reviews
It's a OK pc i bought it but if you have the money for this just Custom Build your own
We have wireless mouse and keyboard and they do not work with the USB 2.0 ports. BestBUY and Geek squad told us that it is probably because of wi-fi interference next to the usb 2.0 and that we need to use the usb 3.0 since it works ok.
Also we never know if Caps Lock or if Num Lock is on because the lights do not come on. BestBuy says it may be a defective keyboard(Microsoft wireless 3050) and that it may also be the cause of the usb problem. Bets Buy is very helpful and they have ordered another Microsoft 3050 keyboard.
Please don't be as dumb as bestbuy workers / website and do your own research. The 6th gen i6 6700 is base clock 3.4ghz but it can turbo itself up to 4ghz when needed through overclock. It should be mentionned but if you already know about i3 / i5 / i7 , they all have turbo features so its not a new thing.
After updating the Windows 10 I finally was able to create a USB Recovery Drive. Make sure the USB stick is 16 gb as I only had 530 mb left after creating the Recovery Drive.
This machine is quiet and works very well. I have a flash drive laptop from ASUS and this works almost as fast. Who needs a flash drive I thought as this machine screams.
No issues so far but I won't dare update the BIOS after I heard what others had to say with this model a few moths ago. Apparently they fixed this issue and so I bought this Desktop PC.
I have had many good experience with ASUS products from me and others whom I have recommended to buy ASUS machines.
I've had this PC for about 2 weeks now and am really happy with it. It's quiet, stays cool, and feels solid. No complaints at all here and would recommend it. One warning: the back panel is not exactly as pictured. There is no VGA jack on the graphics card and, although the onboard graphics card has a VGA jack it comes pre-disabled in the BIOS. As I haven't acquired an HDMI cable yet I was planning on connecting my monitor via VGA but had to improvise with a DVI to VGA adapter until I get the HD cable.
Other than that, more than satisfied with the ASUS M32CD.
It's ok. Beware that it's actually a 3.4 GHz core, not 3.7 GHz as advertised.
My computer was working fine until it asked me to preform bios update and then it was all downhill. Computer crashed and would not turn on. Sent it back to Asus as I only had a couple months and Best Buy only short term return policy. I had to pay $40 to ship to Asus and they paid to ship it back. Then I get it back and go to turn on, same thing no display. Send it back a second time and a month later they are saying it should work...not impressed at all! Stay away or buy extended warranty from bust buy!
Firstly, the BIOS update for the M32CD that many other reviews mentioned bricking their computers was pulled more than a month ago, so it's not really a concern anymore. There is a thread on Reddit about it if you google it.
As for the computer, it's what it says on the description. I've had it a week without any real complaints against it. For the price (on sale), it has a very nice processor and a good amount of ram. The graphics card is "medium range" and does okay for gaming, and with the higher processor and ram it should still do well if you upgrade the video card in a few years.
The only thing that might be unexpected is the video card. Despite what a normal person might expect, the R9 370 is NOT an upgrade from a R9 290. It's nearly half as powerful as the 290, even though the 370 is much newer and a higher number. Part of that is my own fault for expecting common sense to apply to product naming.
The card will not pass the SteamVR Performance Test if anyone else is interested.
I also had to update the drivers for the card manually through the device manager before it was recognized as a R9 370. It detects as a 200 series card at first.
It's good for what it is, but don't expect a beast. More like a donkey. It gets the job done, but won't win any races.
On my first unit, had a recurring issue with the display not working correctly after sleep/hibernate. Updated all the drivers, still a problem. Was going to take it in for repairs when I saw the ASUS BIOS update. Applied that and it killed the machine.
Took it in for warranty repair, waited a month to find out that ASUS didn't have sufficient parts (since they killed thousands of machines in the field). Was offered a warranty replacement of the same unit. Took another week to get that one in.
I ended up without a PC for about a month and a half, but the replacement is working fine so far.
It was good value for money considering the specs, but I have concerns about the long-term reliability given the questionable quality control at ASUS.
Great machine and I really enjoy windows 10. I have had it for a few weeks now and I have had no issues at all. Hooked it up to a samsung 27" curved display and I just love it. Very quick to do any task and the price I paid on sale was worth every penny. Aesthetically it is a very nice looking desktop and I have had many comments on it since its been on my desk. I will add a solid state later and maybe upgrade the graphics card in another 3 years but it is a perfect setup, especially in this price range.
I've had a great experience with other Asus brand items, sadly this computer disappointed me. It had decent specs for the price it is at, however the computer itself didn't live up to it. Because i decided to trust this, I even bought something to replace a part. First, it was having grey screens due to power supply issues; so I switched that out. However, more problems started to arise... one after another. I did a BIOS update, and it completely killed my computer, it just wouldn't turn on. I took it back to return it, and it just so it happens a few more customers were having issues with the same computer. I will carefully consider buying another ASUS computer in the future.
BIOS update fried my MB. Asus has had it longer then I've owned it. Found out today they can't repair it and after over a month of waiting told BB just to give me a credit. What a joke. Wish I could rate this as 0 stars.
I bought mine, on special, end November. Everything worked fine until 6th of January when ASUS asked the Critical Bios update. So it crashed. Brought it back to the store Since then I am waiting for the store to... give me news, after almost 2 weeks, I found out that the motherboards for all ASUS towers with the same problem, are still in BACKORDER, ASUS is not capable to fix the problem quickly, this is veryFrustrating and annoying. Otherwise, computer has amazing perfomance.

Frustrating and annoying .
Bottom lines, I will stay more than one month (who know how more...) without computer, IF they will get the motherboards in reasonable time
At this point, the performance of this computer doesn't matter anymore, when you can't really enjoying it
this computer is a killer deal if on sale and runs great!! you'll notice many 1 star reviews but those people cant even write a constructive review to help people interested in a new computer!! there reviews are not posted because they are probably swearing and writing rude things! most are probably mad because of a bios update that caused people who installed it to have to get there computer repaired!! the up date was released and hours later pulled by asus!! you should always wait a few days before doing updates in case of any bugs!
this is unbelievably fast and runs cool and quiet!!
I love it!
At some point im planning to upgrade the case to give it more airflow becasue there's only one fan. the graphics card is pretty good but im also planning to change the graphics card to an r9 380 or gtx 960. If your into hardcore gaming build your own. but if youre only going to play cs go, minecraft, bo3 or anygames that are easy to run. itll run at around 150-200 fps
This PC is amazing. I got it for Christmas. It runs every game I have played so far at top settings. This PC is absolutely dominant. But here is where the problem happen, it happen a few days after getting it because i was told to do an asus bios update and the PC stopped working so i sent it into best buy to get it repaired and so far the PC has been with best buy longer than it has with me. It is not the PC's or best buy's fault it is asus with the update, dont get me wrong asus is a great company but they messed up big with this bios update. So if you are planning to get this PC, GET IT FOR SURE but don't do the update until asus has fixed the updates problem. Thank You.
-runs the majority of games (except the Witcher 3 (it can run it at high no problem but not ultra high a big of lag)) on top settings
-great looking PC
-very, very quiet
-very, very powerful
-great price for the speed and look of the PC
-the bios update
-not a single other problem the PC is amazing
I just started to use it and next day did not boot. I do not recommend it.
motherboard crashed after only 4 days of use. When returned it to store was informed that it appears to be a widespread issue with this model.
Got this on sale day after christmas (200$ rebate). No complaints. Computer is very quiet compared to my previous gaming computer. Getting a very fast cpu, 16 go of ram and 2 TB of HDD space in this price range was a no brainer. I figured I would go a long way with this setup. Even though the R9 270 GPU is mid-range, it will probably be good enough for the next 2-3 years. After that I will just update the power supply, the GPU, and add a SSD drive.
I hate to write a negative review, BUT out of the box it already had a few problems. When I played games I would get a Gray screen... I fixed that by changing the power supply. However, now I have a problem with which it doesn't connect to the monitor, nor does it shutdown when I hold the power button. When it runs i'ts good, when it doesn't, obviously, it's terrible. Such a shame. I'm actually being very generous just by giving it a 2/5.
Had the computer for about 2 weeks(It was amazing while it worked) when a notification for a Asus critical bios update popped up. I did the update, and the PC would not restart. We brought it back to bestbuy and they said the motherboard was dead and swapped the broken computer out for a new one. We brought the new one home, saw the same bios update and we figured the last computer was just faulty so we did the update on the new PC, and it killed that PC too. We brought that one back to bestbuy and they told us that they had 4 people return the same PC on that day. There is an asus bios update for this PC that kills it. Return this computer if you can and get a different one. BestBuy was great and dealt with our situation quickly.
Used for 6 weeks. Everything was fine, speed was OK, easy to install and use.
After BIOS upgrade, pushed by ASUS, the computer is a brick, unusable. Sent it back to ASUS under warranty.
I bought mine on Christmas eve and after two weeks I encountered problems. No image despite rebooting, disconnecting etc... My monitor works perfectly on my other computer. Although i have a 4 years protection plan I don't have a good feel about the equipment. It is a definite return for a better brand name as far as I am concerned
it tends to freeze when playing some online games and now after doing a critical update it is completely dead I had to take it back to geek squad and they have had a few come back so far with the same issue
Purchased this in November 2015 as a family gift. Set up and working great since Christmas day. Review will be skewed because this tower replaced a very old one (10 years, the shame). Pretty much anything else would be spectacular in comparison, but this system was carefully chosen. Wicked fast, and no problems loading anything so far. Son very happy that Terraria runs without crashing and Minecraft mods work with no lag. I run stats on a differrent unit, so can't pass judgement on the math processor, but the video card seems great. Other reviews have commented on the noise, but it's so much quieter than our previous almost-hand-crank tower that it seems silent.
bought this for my gamer son for xmas and the first day it would flash a black screen every 20-30 minutes just for a second and then on day 2 it was freezing on start up!! brought it back to best buy and they exchanged it no questions asked!!!!
2nd unit is perfect!!! super powerful and runs cool even when running minecraft at 800fps for 10 hours straight!!! great deal if on sale!!
GPU ASUS R9 270-DC2OC-2GD5 ,NOT R9 370,YOU CAN get 4.0 GHz WITH Turbo Boost on CPU.
-Fast on High Quality, in game
-Can Handle A lot of stuff opened at once
-Fast on Browser
-The Second HDMI and the Only GVA port don't work
I love this PC but i want to start Streaming I tried all three Ports on both my monitors and only one of the ports work and that's the one at the Very bottom So I can only use 1 port and HDMI only and monitors come with a GVA cable so your forced to buy a HDMI port luckily i had 2 spare ones. Other then the Ports this PC can play all but one game on Ultra/Very High
when on sale you cant build this pc for the this price!!! definitely a high end gaming system
this computer is amazing!!! best i7 out there,, huge hard drive and an insane amount of memory!! graphics card is amazing!!! i can play all of my favourite games on ultra settings and max fps!!!! highly recommend this pc!!!
all the reviews on this site that are below 4 stars are people being unfair to the price! what they say would be better in it would cost over 2 grand and while this pc is amazing its unfair to compare it to state of the art top end gaming pc's
I wouldn’t classify this as a high-end gaming PC. The R9 370 won’t run 4k well, the 6700 isn’t a K series (no overclocking), no slots or support for multiple video cards, etc. Nor I would I classify it as a high-end business workstation (no RAID, limited SATA ports, limited expansion card slots). However, it is a good high-end home office workstation (light CAD, video editing, heavy programming/database, etc.), 1080p gaming, and any home tasks (5.1 output, WiFi, USB 3/3.1, DVD/RW, built-in SD card reader, etc.).
It is an H110 series Asus mini-ATX motherboard, so there is almost zero expandability. A couple of extra SATA 3 ports and a mini-PCIe slot is pretty much it. It only has two RAM slots – already full. It has a good number USB (2, 3, and 3.1) ports. However, for most users, this likely won’t be an issue as the specs are so high-end you are a long way away from needing to upgrade anything.
Notes: The HDD is partitioned with a 150GB C drive with the OS on it. Makes cloning onto an SSD easy – and this is about the only upgrade I’d recommend.
The I7-6700 is a 3.4GHz CPU, but turbos to 4.0GHz. I have never had any heating or noise issues. Fans power down unless under considerable load.
Pros: Great price, powerful, great home IO, good looking compact case, higher-end specs, Win10 preinstalled (less updates).
Cons: Limited expandability.
Good PC similar to others such as dell XPS 8900 and cheaper.
One caviat: the graphics card really sucks.
If you are serious about gaming, be prepared to replace the GPU and the PSU with something decent such as GTX980 and at least 600Watts.
It is a fantastic gaming PC and is extremely fast. It runs Fallout 4 on high and ultra settings amazingly well(except for a little bit of lag in high combat areas on ultra settings). I am going to upgrade the gpu and put in an ssd within the next year to enhance my gaming experience even more.
Oh my was a Master Peace this PC is I got this The Other day and Wow i can play most of my games Ultra/Very High Graphics 60 fps An amazing PC to get for yourself. Into Gaming this PC will help you play all your top notch games at 1080p with Beautiful Stunning Graphics, Most Amazing PC I've Ever Used
Very good value with newest i7 on the market and loads of memory!!
Perfect gaming system for [price]!!!
Bought this on sale and its amazing! I thought the R9-370 would make it a eh computer but that's not the case. The Intel i7-6700 with the 16 gb of ddr4 ram makes this computer a BEAST. It can easily tackle ANY game! Its a steal for its price! The 2TB hard drive will let you download all the games!
Counter strike global offensive (Everything Maxed): 290-300 frames
H1Z1 (All high) render distance 2000: 40-100 frames
Payday 2 (Everything Maxed): 90-125 frames
League of Legends (Everything maxed): 270-300 frames
this is the best bang for your buck!! you can not beat this pc anywhere for this price!!! when on sale its a mind blowing deal!!!
this pc is super fast
Great product. fast accessing times for games. Graphics are very decent.
this pc is like a finely tuned race car!! best processor on the market !! tonnes of ram at 16 gigs and a game card in the higher end category!!!!!!!!
one sale this pc is an amazing deal!!!!!!
This is an amazing machine. I bought it on sale, but quickly purchased a 240 SSD to hold my opperating system. Be aware that you void your warrenty when you do this, but my computer now loads faster then the monitor.
Great machine, and I highly recommend this to other people. (Buy an SSD)
