    Great tablet BUT

I bought this tablet for [price], and loved it. Like the ASUS brand, trusted it for years, Tablet has nice weight & build quality seems solid. So, what's my beef? Well Long story short, when I type the characters on the upper part of the virtual keyboard (q,w,e,r,t,y,u,i,o), sometimes I get the lower keys (z,x,c,v,b,n,m,,.,/,), Searching on internet it seems this problem is common with this model. What's the fun in replying to emails with your tablet when you can't get the characters you're typing? I suppose if you're stuck with this model and can't return it you can always use the voice command, which sucks. For me, I'm bringing it back.

    Great Buy on/off sale

If you are looking for a great android tablet and don't want to shell out for the higher priced screen this is it. It has 95% of the functionality and performance of a higher priced alternative. We downloaded some HD games and didn't really see any real performance/screen differences that would have justified a $200-$300 addtional price hit. And Asus once again ( I also own a Asus Transformer Pad 300T ) has done well with having some addtional apps installed but not overdoing it. Battery life is excellent. It's light and the 8" screen is a great go between size. Higly recommended.

    Very Good Value for money

Fairly quick start-up, decent screen resolution and very good build quality. Hard to find a very good 8" Android tablet at this price point but this one is well rounded in all areas. Don't expect the same smoothness or speed of nexus 7 made by Asus, but if your willing to give up a little of that for quite a bit more viewing area (i think it's 30% more than the 7" nexus) than this might be a good option. Cons: A little thicker and heavier than I anticipated, when I bought it was only available in white, also not a huge fan of the shiny plastic backing as I find it doesn't feel as nice in my hand than some others.

Decent tablet value when on sale

a good deal at the price I still believe. Had it for two weeks now, will focus on the negatives: Response can be jerky, not sure why, it's a quad core The buttons on the side are awkwardly placed; they cannot be used without picking up the device A few force stops/rebooting; could be just the fact I had been installing all my apps at once... Screen is a fingerprint magnet (all tablets may be) The back is slippery (white back), a grippier surface would have been nice. Battery life is just ok All in all, happy with the purchase. (previous table was a samsung tab2 7")

    Asus MeMO Pad 8 "

My first tablet. I got it 7 days ago. Very happy with the purchase. Love the fact this tablet is 8",quad core and the price is fair. I get about 6 hours of usage in total. Wish it's longer. Overall, I'm happy.

    Pretty good...

Overall solid build quality. Don't expect this to be as snappy as the Nexus 7 but it does load apps at a decent speed. The resolution is not bad, but once you start going over 8" for a tablet, 1280 x 800 is lowest you want - Not as sharp as the Nexus 7. Had to keep mine at max brightness as any lower was too low. Good battery life. The back of the unit gets pretty warm when watching higher quality Youtube videos after only 5 minutes. The tablet was not able to render high quality movies very well. I tried to play a 1080P 2.5GB movie and it shuttered and struggled - unwatchable. You most likely need a tablet with a quad core A15 processor or more to do this. This tablet is perfect for someone who wants a little bigger screen than 7" and for light internet use. Although I don't consider this a movie media centre machine, It did play smaller and lower quality video files ok.

I bought this tablet to record piano students. Unfortunately, when I watched the video of a student playing the piano, the sound was very distorted. So disappointed that I brought back the tablet to the store.

overall it is normal, still has some bugs

it is fast and screen is good, but it still has some bugs, need a firmware update to fix them. firefox + flash playre = crush accuweather will cause bettary drain, and it can't be uninstalled battery estimate is not correct, battery can only be used for one whole day(minor use) power waste in system idle is too high.

    good tablet for the price

This is decent tablet. It does not excel in any area but it is good all around. Performance is just ok. There is noticeable lag when using it. Screen is bright and sharp enough. But nothing special to be excited about. Speakers are loud enough but nothing great again. Overall decent tablet for the price.
