Asus Transformer Mini10.1

I wanted a tablet and a notebook so I looked at combination units. I picked up a surfacebook pro. Ran great, expensive and as a tablet a bit too big. I'm also a father of a 4 year old, so I having the watch some videos on a tablet, this was a pricey way to go. I picked up a surface pro 4, although it was smaller than the book, still too big as a tablet for me. So I decided I wanted both tablet and separate laptop which I could get for still less than a surface pro. I picked up the acer with similar stats to this Asus. I could have had both for up to 2 weeks but only needed 5 days to compare head to head. Long and short: for the extra 200, the Asus was way better and I felt more durable than the acer which I read countless online review on. The sound is way better (acer needs external speakers if in any environment other than yourself in a room, the build is more solid. I returned the Acer and kept the Asus and happy I did. Both were sluggish when it came to browsing and running some software such as quicken, and the acer did not support 5G. As opposed to a full laptop, the Asus is definitely a lot more convenient to carry around to coffee shops or meetings than a laptop. Also, the size of 10.1 inches is great for when I'm laying on the couch looking up stuff while watching sports. Not too big or heavy,,, just right. and for still under the cost of a surfacebook or even a surface pro 4, I have both on hand at any given time.

Great Little Laptop/Tablet

I just got this mini transformer yesterday and so far I am loving it. It does exactly what I need it to. I am not a fan of the pen, but that's more of a personal preference than anything against the product. I only needed something small and portable which this is, it fits in my purse. I needed something that would sync with my dropbox for my writing which this does perfectly. I don't spend too much time online or gaming, so I'm not sure how the laptop would hold up for that. It's quick for what I tested out.

So far so great

I own a Surface pro 4 i7 16gb and it's a pain to use it because it's constantly hot, heavy and being noisy ventilating even for a simple browsing task. This Asus Transformer Mini is a breeze to use for simple task such as reading, browsing and watching video; no noise. Of course, it cannot be pushed further but for what it is good at, it's fantastic. you an do little more such as emailing and typing document. The size is perfect, light, bright, good screen, it's the perfect little windows 10 machine for less than a it's competitors. I keep my surface pro for more intensive photo, video and sound editing work.

Nice, complete ultra portable 2-1

After reading several reviews on the ASUS Transformer Mini I was concerned that this "poor man's Surface" would disappoint. On the contrary, it is spunky enough for all basic tasks, and the keyboard and especially the pen, make this a complete package, at a fraction of the cost of similar systems. I have had it for a few days now and here are some pros and cons: Pros: - Included keyboard and pen - battery life (truly 11+ hours) - Portability - Ample storage (128 GB) - Very good looking - Speakers are excellent Cons: - Track pad a bit too sensitive - Tablet charges very slowly

Great

When I first bought this transformer, the wifi didn't work for one day. I didn't understand why but after I restarted it, It worked amazing, very fast and very efficient. I will buy another one when mine breaks.

Not happy at all

I find too slow it freezes at times and too flimsy having the keyboard on. I returned it to best buy.

Almost perfect

I got this "laptop" because I was specifically looking for a US style keyboard (as you see in the pictures) so when I opened it up and saw a bilingual keyboard I immediately knew it was going back. Normally I wouldn't say this is a flaw in the design BUT there's a huge glaring flaw with the bilingual keyboard. Despite this laptop looking like it's a decent size and comfortable to type on it's actually very very small and with both of the shift keys, since it's bilingual, are half the size of what they should be. also the enter key being vertical expect /a lot of your writing/\\will look like this///\\\\\. The shift keys are just simply too small on top of being too small. They are almost 1/4 of the size of a normal shift key. (didn't measure but that's how I remember them) However, the tablet portion worked beautifully for an "atom" processor, I didn't expect much, it wasn't lightning fast but it was just the right amount of processing speed, with the new low performance "Skype Preview", I could run Skype, Chrome, Windows defender (which are always running when I'm using it) with only about 50% of the ram being used. (note: not a PC gamer so I didn't test any games however I won't be surprised if they run slow) Note: performance and finger print censor felt buggy before the Windows update, but the update fixed everything Because the tablet portion was so good I considered keeping it but there was another flaw that changed my mind, the screen had a red tint when my previous laptop had a perfect white tint. it was too much of a change for me with the bilingual keyboard and the disappointing screen. If it wasn't for the warm screen and bilingual keyboard it probably would've been the best laptop I ever owned... well.. the hinge design felt kinda flimsy but that's a sacrifice you have to make for a tablet PC I guess

Awesome for the price

The amount of things you can do with this for the price is outstanding. It's super sleak and about 60% cheaper than a surface. Comes with all the accessories: pen and keyboard. Be prepared for a bit of loading when installing or opening applications. Don't expect super speeds. Speakers and video are great. Portability is 10/10.

Love this new product! Great Value for the price!

This is a great budget alternative to the more expensive Surface series of convertible laptops. The keyboard cover and the stylus pen are included. It is great for basic needs, such as web surfing, watching movies and emails. Microsoft Office is preloaded. My biggest concern was the resolution: It is NOT the best (1280 x 800), but good enough to read magazines and video watching. The sound is great. Battery life is amazing, you can use the tablet all day before needing a charge (10-11 Hrs). Light and compact, perfect travel companion! I love the split screen option in Tablet mode, great for multi tasking. Very user friendly.
