Worst Purchase. EVER.

For the first few weeks I thought this laptop was pretty good. The only thing that bothered me was the noise, it was daily loud. BUT after a few it started breaking down. Most notably the wifi/Ethernet adapters failed, rendering the laptop pretty useless. Sent it in to Asus for repair only to have the issue reoccur a few weeks later. Sent it in a second time and am currently waiting for the "repair". The whole experience has been miserable. I'm know several people with the same model and the same network problems. It's not just me. So I urge you, do NOT buy this laptop.

Terrible laptop!!

The screen turned to black occasionally, and it doesn't connect to wifi!!!!!!!!!! I am exhausted of fixing its problems while using it. I hate this machine.

Garbage

Bought this for school work. I can't believe how slow it is. My old laptop is faster, and it's 8 years old! Not worth the 700 I paid for it. Feel pretty ripped off but it's been too long now and I guess I'm stuck with this piece of sh***t.

Very bad experience with this product and service!!!!

I have been having many issues with this laptop. Firstly, one month after using it I got a hardware issue and wifi issue. Geek squad sent it to Asus to get fixed and it took over 1 month to get it back! Once I got it back, a couple days later I had problems with the touch pad right click not working where I took it back to Geek Squad. I really wish they would have given me another laptop or refund but they said since it is passed one month, they can't do exchange or refund! Well, they fixed the software issue and once AGAIN the same wifi problem came back just 4 days after fixing the software issue! It has only been 2 months since I used the laptop and I already had 3 MAJOR hardware and software issues with it and really wish to get another one but I can't. Now they have my laptop on repair again and who knows when I will get it back! Also I hate the screen resolution as it is not 1080p, it is not good for any Adobe design products colour wise. Also, the keyboard is not great. Overall, I have been having a really bad experience with this product! I highly advise anyone NOT to get it!!!!

Horrible machine and horrible customer support

I have bought this machine on Black Friday sale. When I first used it I thought it was kind of slow and very noisy. Fast forward after the holiday's over, I really tried it out. It's unbelievably slow, cuts off from wifi as some other reviewer mentioned making watching streaming video unwatchable. Of course when I realized this, the DOD period or return and refund period was over and I feel like I'm stuck with this crappy junk that cost me almost 900 dollars. Yes, I sent it in for service twice and the original problem of HDD clicking noise was gone but now it has battery issue. I'm gonna try to fix it through Bestbuy since Bestbuy is an authorized service provider...

Don't waste your money on this

I bought this machine when Bestbuy had a Black Friday sale. I should have returned it when I first opened it and tried it out. It was very noisy and very slow. Battery doesn't seem to last too long. Now the DOD period is over and the machine is going back and forth twice already for a repair but now it seems I have a battery issue again. Please do yourself and your wallet a favor and but something decent from HP or Dell. Needless to say, I will never recommend this computer or this company to anyone and I'll never buy from ASUS again.

DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP!

I was so happy when I got this laptop.The first week was great.Then, two weeks later, this laptop's wifi stopped working, and the screen keeps on turning black for no reason. I took it to the geek squad fix shop and it took them four weeks to "fix" it. They didn't even alert me when it was fixed! When I got it back, it was still broken, same old problem. Now, two weeks later, the laptop won't even turn on! I am saying this for your benefits: BEST BUY PUT THIS ON SALE FOR A REASON! DON'T BUY IT! YOU WILL REGRET IT! "Best buy" more like "Best scam", I will never buy from best buy again and strongly recommend you to as well.

Too noisy laptop from ASUS

I got this laptop from Best Buy yesterday and spent several hours to install all software's that I use for my research work. The laptop was making too much noisy when I was installing the software's but never expected it will remain noisy after I am done with the setup. Unfortunately, it remained too noisy and never had such type of noisy laptop for the last 10 years. It is too irritating and don't recommend this laptop for anyone. It is my first laptop from ASUS after having issues on motherboard and LCD from two separate Dell laptops, but still the Dell laptop seems cheaper and better to me. The mouth pad is also very awkward and too rigid for right click. I am returning this laptop to Best Buy and don't absolutely recommend for anyone unless the price is extremely cheap.

My worst purchase ever

1. I have ordered it and BestBuy just decided to cancel my order without saying anything and without contacting me. I figured it out only at the day the purchase had to come. 2. BestBuy didn't do anything about it, so I had to reorded this laptop. And go to the important meeting without laptop. 3. Less than month after I had received this laptop, its battery just died. Now it charges only to 99% and dies if I plug it out...so I can't use it On Battery, can use it only when it is plugged in... Overall, I will never order anything again from BestBuy (awful experience) and I will never buy anything from ASUS.

Extreme Dissapointment

Returned!

This computer was painfully slow and the right click got stuck under the chasis every time it was pushed down. I returned it the same day I opened the box.

For the money........

After reading all the negative reviews I was uneasy with this purchase but I picked this unit up open box for six-fifty. First order of the day was to strip out all the bloatware and disable all updates and antivirus nonsense. I need this machine for AutoCAD and REVIT only and it will run off line exclusively. with a second external monitor this package delivers and I have no faults as disturbing as others have mentioned. I have intentions of running VEGAS Pro 14 for some video editing but haven't yet challenged the processing power. We'll keep you updated

Not a typical ASUS Laptop

This is not a performance laptop. The X541U where the U stands for Ulta-low voltage. If you want to do more than email and general office then this is not for you.

Asus vivobook max laptop

After returning the first purchase due to faulty USB port. The new one seems to be working just fine...we have great Internet but does seem to cut in and out a lot on this system versus my old one. Would change one thing and put a third USB port on the right hand side too. Overall would give it a 4.

Surprised

I wish my laptop was as good as everyone else said. For some reason my memory usage is always 100%. I had this exchanged for previous version which had multiple problems such as 10% memory usage, hard freeze and disconnecting from wifi. This laptop takes about 3 to 5 minute to load and battery doesn't last long. I wouldn't recommend it. Not worth 1650 dollars. More like 1200 dollars or less.

An okay laptop in general.

I just got the laptop for about a week and have been playing around with it. Just doing day to day like browsing and watching videos (netflix, youtube, etc...) is not the best. The graphic is not the greatest, and I knew this prior to getting this laptop through research, but it does it job. The keyboard is very bouncy. A couple of apps have stalled a few times. In general, the laptop is okay.

Not what I expected

Theoretically, this is a cool laptop with nice features, however practically, after I bought it, I had nothing but trouble with it. The battery will run out quickly, was very slow to boot and worst of all, it was intermittently shutting off even when the battery was at full charge. Contacted Asus's tech support and they tried to help (first thinking it is a HW issue, then a SW issue) until they eventually gave up and asked me send the device in for repair - which I didn't do, as it is too much of hassle. Eventually, I returned the laptop (BestBuy was very cool in listening to me and refunding the money) and got another Asus laptop model with an AMD CPU this time and native 1080p - which runs like a charm. Don't really want to knock this model as it appears to be legitimately good, but seems like I got a lemon.

Would love to rate this product, if BestBuy would actually ship it to me.

I received an email from BestBuy asking me to rate my Asus Laptop I ordered on Dec 24. My order showed that it shipped from Richmond, BC on Dec 26th with delivery on Dec 29 - wonderful. It has now been over two weeks late. For nearly two weeks the estimated delivery date has been moved to a later date. I have received four new estimated delivery dates in the past two weeks, and still nothing delivered. As BestBuy has not delivered my Asus Vivobook yet, I can only give this product 1 out of 5 stars at this point. Granted, I'll give Canada Post a day or two with the Boxing Day Rush, but to take over two weeks to ship a laptop approximately 100 south from Richmond, BC to Victoria, BC is unacceptable. If and when I received this laptop, I'll be sure to give it a higher rating.

Horrible

Thsi laptop is extremely slow. It does not match the specs it has. Take forever to open google chrome. Doesn't respond well. And constantly does updates and crashes. Definitely getting a refund.

Great laptop for the price.

Wow. I'm amazed at it's performance. I play games on this laptop such as ROBLOX and it can handle most games at 60 Frames per second with graphic setting all the way set. Responds to requests really fast. Only problem. All USB, HDMI and other ports are on the left side. Not the right. Also it has a pretty loud fan if you care.

Battery died after a month

Battery not removable and no CD drive?

It's fast no doubt about it. but is there any possible way to remove the battery so you wouldn't have to charge it multiple times in 1 day? and it's draining power really fast.

really fast with a few issues

when i purchased the asus vivobook i expected much from it of course i got it for a steal. The laptop is really fast it self takes about 13-15 seconds to boot up keyboard is amazing, although i wish it were back lit for the price tag it honestly should be. the speakers are amazing, one of the best speakers I've heard from a laptop period. One of my issues with this laptop was the build quality for a 1000 it honestly feels like a 600 build quality. it is all plastic, and i am not a big fan of the hinge. the screen i wasn't pleasant either. running at 768p you shouldn't expect amazing video quality and the viewing angles are just bad. But its bearable. The track pad was splendid it is smooth supports multi touch and can identify a click very precisely. The i7 6500u paired with the 920mx makes a pretty great gaming experience it can run most games at high 768 reseloution and still be pulling 40-60fps. overall this laptop is good with a few issues but if you lower expectation just a but it is a great laptop.

Network adapter issues

Laptop was working great until there was some issues with the network adapter where it automatically disconnects from the internet! Unfortunately I'll have to return my product as I could not find a solution to this issue. It's only been used to 3 weeks

Asus laptop review

This laptop is the bomb.com i rate 2/2 because it works good runs all the programs I need well including auto cad. had an issue with downloading programs was fixed after a restart and new windows update don't know why. Would recommend this laptop unless you can afford one with a better specs.

I'm happy with it

Runs really smooth and has a quick start up time. Has decent specs considering what I paid for it, and can run most games without issue. I'm not a hardcore gamer so it doesn't really affect me. Only cons are it has a loud fan and a really sub-par webcam if that matters to you.

Fast and Dependable

Incredible speed. Asus is a well respected brand and this laptop, which replaced an older laptop performs top notch. The i7 processor has tremendous speed and the stand alone graphics card is fabulous. Too many other wonderful points to mention. I would highly recommend Asus and this laptop.
