Excellent router

I've been using this router for about 6 months now and I have no complaints. The speed is excellent and it is ultra reliable (never dropped a signal yet). I definitely recommend it.

On my way to return it.

What a ;piece of junk. The manual tells me to go to "router.asus.com" to configure the router. Nope. It takes me to the useless asus web site. This is my 6th router, and my first time I had any issues on this level. This could be my last asus product.

menu issues

After I got the router set up and used for a while I wanted to change my password but could get to the menu kinda disappointed.

Easy Peasy

I got this router to replace a five-year old D-Link router. I had always used D-Link but decided this time to experiment with a different brand and I was not disappointed. Setup was really easy once the laptop was connected via USB to the router (I didn't even have to install software) and I just changed the SSID and password to the ones from my old router and with the exception of a couple of devices, everything connected seamlessly. I now have better coverage with this router compared to the old one and I can also see using the router account login all the devices connected to the router. I also like the additional functionalities such as the option to create a guest network and even controlling the internet access of the various devices attached to the router. I did find at times that it took a couple of minutes for my laptop to get up and running with the internet (probably because the router is in the basement) but once that was done, everything was pretty quick online and I have no issues with streaming.

Good Deal!

I didn't know anything about routers so my tech friend suggested this Asus router. I got it on sale and it was really easy to set up. I've always stuck to Linksys so I wasn't sure how this Asus router would fare. I haven't had any problems so far and it's working great around the house.

Great Bang For Your Buck

Just picked up this router for my dad, I have a more powerful version at home and this is the cheaper brother. Not disappointed at all, my dad gets great throughput on it, excellent signal throughout an older apartment with a lot of concrete walls, impressed. I had also bought a signal booster just in case, going back to best buy tomorrow to return it, not needed.

Great router!

Got this router on sale and I have had no issues with it. Works fine with my modem and I have great signal throughout my house. I do a lot of streaming online and it has worked great!

Good choice

I just replaced the TPLink Archer C5 with this one yesterday, and it works better. Better covergage and no lags until now.

Great Router So Far

Setup was easy peasy! Allowed my MacBook, our iOS devices, our Android devices and our Windows PCs to work with our wi-fi printers without seeing them as "offline". The only thing that disappoints me is he fact that it doesn't have any way modify the transmission (tx) power as in all the other routers I've had. I just have this for a 2 bedroom apartment but needed an AC router. I'm really not wanting to supply wi-fi for the entire apartment complex lol I'm hoping a firmware release will fix this in the future. Kudos to Asus for a great router that literally works with everything!

Solid little router

A good buy for the price, a solid little router. Pro: - Setup was trivial with the wizard, and is backed by a decent UI for manual configuration. (Firmware used released 2016/09/08) - The UI allows all the advanced features you'd expect for techs. Con: - Custom firmware like Tomato and DD-WRT do not work on this model currently. - I found the wifi range not particularly impressive (Both 2&5 GHz). (But still covers a big 3 floor house)

Fast router! good for streaming on internal wifi from device to device!

Bought this router because i was setting up a media server upstairs and have a WDTV live box in the basement. This router seamlessly steams 1080P from upstairs to the basement with no lag over the 2.4ghz with both devices having a wireless-N adapter. Cant wait to try the speeds out with an AC adapter in the future! also usb port on the device is fantastic.! works as designed. Works perfect!

Great coverage & fast!

I've tried many different wireless routers including Apple AirPort Extreme (which is supposed to be a great router at least for coverage distance) but wifi signal just wouldn't reach my master bedroom at full strength of my 25 down and 5 up Mbps. So I decided to try this router as it's supposed to have stronger gain on the wifi antenna. And BAMMMM! My wifi coverage with my 5ghz coverage gives me my full down and up speeds. This router admin panel is also very customizable and easy to use. Very impressed with this router for around [price] price range. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this router to everyone. Good job ASUS!

Didn't work directly with my modem

For some reason this router didn't work directly with my modem (and there is no firmware updates), but it worked if I would plug to my old router. So I had to return this router and I got another ASUS router. In general, it was easy to set up, no need headache... Cons: Getting HOT very fast... same as my new router ! I heard if I would turn off 5G it may reduce the heat but I haven't tries yet !
