Great product

This is an awesome tablet. My only gripe is SOMETIMES the screen doesn't acknowledge a touch on the screen and you need to perform the action again. This doesn't happen often, so I wouldn't let this issue impact buying the tablet.

1ST Tablet

I purchased this tablet because my daughter said it was a good one and that she had one too and liked it. So all my issues are her issues Thank goodness for guru daughters.

Great tablet

Had no issues with my tablet for the past year. Been on vacation with me and on work trips. Paired it with my phone and app called mighty text so I can SMS msg ... Read all my ebooks on it with Sony app. Prefer to Kobo .

Great tablet from Google

This is Google's best nexus tablet, having dual speakers and having KitKat on it runs great. Get it on sale soon before the new model comes out. the new one will be bigger probably 8 or 9 inches. I like this size better for books and comics.

If you don't want to pay for an iPad

I got my iPad mini stolen, so I wanted to get a tablet that is less expensive. Nexus by far is probably the most useful one for a smaller tablet. However the multimedia features are by far much inferior to iPad mini. However if you are just looking to have something for emails, internet, and e-books, this is a very good cheaper option to Apple. It also linked up all my google related apps, so it's been very convenient that way.

Too many problems :: Search online

I did not have problems with mine, but only had it for a day. At first it wouldn't seem to turn on, but it was because it turns out you Must Hold Down the Power Button for Several Seconds!! Unfortunately, in the process of researching this online, I learned that many, many people have had a really bad experience involving the inability to charge the device, mysterious random reboots, problems involving the touch screen in which icons and other objects behave as if they have been touched (when they haven't). Finally, the screen can easily crack, entirely on its own! If you don't believe me, that's fine, but I implore you to look online. Search Nexus 7 problems. It's not like only a few isolated cases either. In some cases over 500 people have weighed in, with the majority of them experiencing the same things. Apparently the device was built by ASUS, but one Engineer has come forward, describing the situation as 'torturous', in trying to meet all of Google's demands and in rushing it to production. You would think that the bugs would be out of it by now since 2013 brought the 2nd incarnation of this device, but sadly, this newest version is apparently plagued with problems also, although in some cases the problems are different between the two generations. Very sad for ASUS, but especially sad for so many people who are experiencing so many problems. In many cases, the cost to repair has been higher than repurchasing the device. But who would do that?

Unexpected lockup

Be prepared to have this device unexpectedly lockup at startup. Look online there are multiple examples and most common solution is to factory reset which wipes all data. The device worked great while running but unreliability of this device makes me regret the purchase

Tried the iPad mini with retina, and did not like the os the weight or the lack of apps that I used regularly. Especially given the price. Paid half the iPad mini price and bought the nexus. Feels better in the hand, lighter, has the apps I want, good screen, customisation, and got a great cover/stand. The cover was also half the price apple were charging. Some minor staggers in web browsers, but nothing in the os. Value for money you can't go past it. I've only had it a short while so cannot comment on reliability. So far pretty happy.

Worth the price

Other than getting used to the lock button and volume buttons being side by side this is a great buy. Extremely fast at the touch, sound quality is great as i use it mostly for music. Only flaw was that picture taking wasnt too sharp

Garbage product, terrible customer service

Don't bother with the Nexus 7, stay away. After 6 months of very light usage (it never left my living room), it stopped booting altogether and this piece of junk is now completely dead. Apparently many, many people are experiencing the same problem. I've received absolutely no customer service help from Best Buy, Google, or ASUS. Despite this being a well-known and well-documented issue, ASUS still expects me to pay for the shipping to send it back. Garbage.

Great tablet

This is a high performance tablet with good battery life and a great selection of apps. The one flaw is the awkward placement of the power and volume buttons. The touch screen is very responsive and the speed of the tablet is great. Definitely recommend for those who like me, do not want to carry around a full 10" tablet and prefer the smaller size.

Had this tablet for 4 months now. It has completely replaced my laptop which was needed to sync music and movies to my iPad. I can download pretty much anything and stream anything with it. It is also easier to read books on because of it's size and weight.

Great for the price

This tablet is way better than the iPad mini in terms of OS, style, the screen and price. Hardware in terms of speed, wireless speed, camera(its a tablet) etc. is about the same as an iPad mini. The only thing that is below the mini, is the speakers, which make a quiet buzzing noise when charging, not in a good place, and just general glitches. But for the price those problems are derfinitely worth it. You also can do much more on android than iOS, without having to root, widgets, launchers, customization is far supperior than Apple's OS.

Better than the iPad at half the cost...

This is my 2nd Nexus 7 device and I didn't hesitate to buy the new one as soon as it came out. The improvements are fantastic. Performance is much improved - much faster processor and double the RAM. The screen is the best part - better than Retina resolution and great is different light conditions. Lots of case options (with sleep function) available for under $20. Also, as a Nexus device, it gets all the Android updates as soon as they're available. For the money, you won't find a better tablet.

Great device

Perfect for my needs, I am a Newbie in mobile devices and found the app system as opposed to a file system strange. General lack of documentation available for all mobile devices did not help. That said it works great the camera is excellent and the display is absolutely outstanding. With the purchase off a mini-standard USB adaptor cable I was able to plug in a zip drive and play my music. The voice command is great. Able to Skype within hours of starting the Nexus A totally great device,

Well worth the $

Great value for the money on this tablet. Screen quality is excellent. I have an older IPAD and wanted a newer tabet. I bought a new IPAD and returned it for this and I am happy that I have done so. I hardly ever use my IPAD any more, other than for a note taking app that I use. You will be happy you made the choice to get the Nexxus 7

Serves my traveling needs quite nicely and I'm very happy with the product. I was able to get the tablet for an excellent price at the Cyber Monday sale. Love the Hangouts App for staying in contact with friends and family, including the live cam feature - excellent. Good bye Skype, hello Nexus.

After doing some research I was sold on getting this tablet and I was right! Very responsive, fast! Perfect size as an ereader, amazing video and sound quality. I recommend going for the 32gb version. The only drawback I found was the lack of a flash player on android 4.3+ but there is an unofficial way around it. Compared to similar products you are definitely getting your money's worth!

Battery Life!

AMAZING! Left my new Google Nexus 7 on for a week, every time I went to use it the response was immediate out of sleep mode. That said it must get good rest in sleep mode because it lasted the whole week without charge! Obviously I wasn't using it heavily but very happy with this device. Great middle ground between PC and cell phone.

Great tablet

Amazing device. Screen is amazing, and the overall device is very responsive thanks I guess to the quad core processor. Android is a great OS, and one that I prefer to iOS -- although I haven't used iOS since I stopped using my iPod Touch a year ago. My only complaint, which isn't something easily addressed, is that the battery doesn't last more than a couple days based on the way that I use it. Would be nice if it lasted longer for just browsing, email and a few games. The price is incredible too, when you compare it to similar devices.

Nexus 7/2013 - did lots of research

Looked at the Samsung note8 nearly bought it then started to do some research and was sold on the Nexus even before I picked it up. Coming from a Blackberry Playboy I couldn't be happier, nice build quality, amazing screen. Best Buy techie guy told me I was making the right choice - best buy for the buck and even slips in my jacket pocket. 5 stars to Nexus on this one.

Very happy that 4.4.2 is installed

When first started the tablet I was asked to download KitKat 4.4. Then after reading articles on web about how it was causing a problem with battery life. Now that 4.4.2 has been released, the battery life is great. Where I thought it should be based on all my research. Love it's size, clarity and speed. I'm not a computer geek so I'm still trying to learn everything it can do. Great value compared to apple!!

Great value and great performance........

I was a little leery about buying an Android since I have Windows and Apple in the house already. Why do I want to have to learn another format! Apple was to expensive for my needs and Windows 7 was getting a little too frustrating to deal with. Best move I've made!! I have been able to easily sync my Yahoo contacts to my Nexus 7 as well as have access to my documents on my PC thru Google Drive. There is a learning curve to deal with, you will have to spent some time getting familiar with the new setup but it is well worthwhile. Did I mention the screen is perfect for reading books on or you can print from your tablet to your printer without a physical connection...........

No disappointments

I purchased this product after researching online, and I am very satisfied with it so far. I've had it for about three weeks now and no problems to report. I do have a few issues with the way the operating system is set up, but that is hardly the fault of the tablet and these would be issues with any Android purchase. I would well recommend this for anyone looking for solid perforance and a reasonable price

Best 7" tablet on the market

The screen on this tablet is amazing, and the sound is pretty good as well. It feels nice and solid while holding it, and the rubberized back doesn't slip. The new CPU and GPU are very fast and I've never seen any lag or delays when launching or switching apps. The only complaint I have about it is that it's not very pretty to look at with rather large bezels top and bottom.

Great tablet, fast, sleek and at reasonable price. I have a BB playbook but this one is much lighter. I wish it would come with 10” screen; it would save me from using reading glasses.

Good deal for the price if you find a good one

You need to keep in mind that with the Nexus 7 is less than half the price of a iPad Mini. Seriously, that's a huge difference for something that will essentially do all the same things and install pretty much all the same apps. They improved upon the Nexus 7 (2012) in pretty much every area with a better screen and better performance. I'm personally not a fan of the style with the top and bottom bezels being too tall and the screen orientation favoring the portrait orientation (as in landscape it is a bit too narrow since you loose a bit of the bottom due to the android command bar). The thing to watch out for is getting a good one as I've gone through three defective units and even the unit I'm using still has touchscreen issues. The one plus from buying local vs. Google is that it is easier to return. All this being said, the first point still stands. If you can find a good one, you are getting something for a lot cheaper than the competition and that alone makes it a good deal.

Great Price, Great Performance!

Very impressed with the device, fast, great screen (high PPI), and the price was right compared to other tablets with the same or less functionality that I've owned (iPAD). I will definitely be buying this brand moving forward, with close to a 1,000,000 plus applications available, it's the easy choice for platforms. A+

Great product!

Everything about this tablet is top notch. It is light and thin, with great battery life. The screen has high resolution and has excellent contrast and colors. My only complaint would be the thick bezels which could have served better to accommodate a larger screen instead. At this price point and form factor, there is no better tablet to buy.
