Close to 5 but issue with in-flight connection

I love these. They fit well once I put the small ear plugs on. The performance is simply outstanding on an airplane. On their own at home they provide good sound. I really like them. On an airplane with the huge background noise, the noise cancelling is a god-send. It is so effective with or without music that you must be careful if you actually want to hear things at all because it cuts the sound out. Incredible for ipod, phone listening or listening with the on-board system. Except on thing. The connector when used on 4 recent Air Canada flights doesn't work great. I had to pull it out or in or turn it a certain way to get it to work properly. I think its because of the Samsung controls build in. I have been able to get them to work each time but if I move it may cut out. Not ideal. Is it Bose's fault or Air Canada ... not sure. I may buy a short adapter or cord with a simple connector and see how it works. That's the reason this is 4 stars and not 5. Good luck and enjoy.

Very comfortable

I bought these for travelling and they are fantastic for that! The noise cancellation is what you'd expect from Bose. The sound quality is pretty good. The ear pieces is comes with are very comfortable for my ears. My wife has small ears and she said that they don't fit correctly. So I think if you have "average" sized ears or no problems with wearing ear plugs or other soft in-ear headsets you will be pleased. I'd recommend these to travelers or people who want some peace and quiet. They offer almost a surreal experience with the nose cancellation that took some getting used to.

Great earphones

Love the ear phones . Noise canceling works great. Sound crystal clear. Very comfortable to wear. You get what you pay for much better then cheap varieties.

Very Good!

Very happy overall with the Quietcomfort 20 ear buds. I bought them mainly to deal with a noisy office but I find I use them everywhere outside the home. The noise cancelling technology works very well. A real surprise is how good they sound. I wasn't expecting great sound, but it's very musical. However it takes a while for them to sound their best, there is a break in period. Also they sound best with noise cancelling turned on. They are also very comfortable. I can hardly feel them. The price is high but the noise reduction works so well that they are worth it. Drawbacks? There's a couple. The battery pack is a bit cumbersome and gets in the way. Also when I'm riding the bus, if the bus goes over a bump in the road or expansion cracks on a bridge - anything that causes a sharp low frequency sound - the noise cancelling circuitry overloads causing a very audible pop sound. Despite these annoyances I am happy with them.

not bad product

the sound cancelling is not bad since it's first time to have one. I bought it to used it in the aircraft but not yet. without the sound cancelling, it's useless because the design in ears is noisy if the sound isolation is off and the Samsung one is away better if we compare it without the sound cancelling. it's good overall but the price is high for it.

not bad product

it's first time to used sound cancelling product. for this QC 20 Bose. it's nice when u use the sound cancelling option. however, when the sound cancelling is off, it's like any cheap headphone and the Samsung headphone which comes with the Galaxy phone is away better then this. honestly, it doesn't worth this amount of money. the reason I bought it is for the aircraft which I didn't use yet.

Worth Every Penny!

I bought these specifically for watching movies in flight on my Android tablet & they are AMAZING! Spectacular sound quality & noise cancellation. Unfortunately, they don't stay plugged securely into my Android mobile, so I'm buying another pair, without the noise cancellation.

Expensive but SOOO WORTH IT if you travel often!

Yes, these are expensive. Yes, you can get two sets of headphones that sound similar to this set for the same price. Yes, the "little" battery/controller dongle near the headphone plug is annoying. Yes, the earpiece fit is "weird". Yes, I'm worried about the cord breaking at the dongle at some point or the "custom" earpieces falling apart. BUT when you sit right next to the engines in a Boeing 767 or 777 at take off, flick these on and the overwhelming roar of the engines at take off turns into the sound of a water tap running in a distant room. When the earpieces mentioned above are so comfortable you can wear them for 7-8 hours straight with no sighns of discomfort and you can listen to music at a volume similar to one you can use in a typical open floor plan office, all of the things I mentioned above become nothing more but minor annoyances. These things have an almost-magical level of NC for engine noise. I have now used them for around 20 hours of flight time (probably 25 hours with airplane engines on) and they have completely transformed my travel experience. They don't block out people nearly as well in my experience but the earphones themselves definitely muffle other sounds also. By the way, I have checked out Bose over the ear QC15 and QC25 and believe it or not, QC20s (subjectively) have MORE NC than those bigger headsets! So if you travel often and can benefit from tuning out engine noise, get these. And if you don't need NC - there are much much cheaper options out there. If you are going to get these, I have two tips for you: 1) Earphone fit - make sure it seals your ear well or these won't work. What I do is put them in my ear, put the protruding part "inside" the ridge on the back of my ear and twist the headphone slightly so that the protruding part of the earphone rests firmly on that ridge 2) Using these with airplane audio - many airplanes have earphone connectors on the inside of the armrest and since the dongle is so close to the plug, I think there is a high probability that you will accidentally damage either the plug or the dongle with your leg. I use a 6" earphone extension cable with a right-angle 4-pin plug and it works great by moving both the earphone plug and the dongle on top of my leg with plenty of room for it to move without getting wedged and damaged.

A must have for frequent travellers

For me, these headphones have become an essential work device, despite the high cost. I am a frequent air traveller and I have used many different types of ear buds from different companies. The sound quality is good (others do a better job for cheaper), however, the noise cancelling is the best I have experienced. No longer do I fear sitting beside crying babies or loud talkers... with the flick of a switch, I can shut them off. This bose set works perfectly with my Samsung phone and there is no comparison to the crappy free headphones that come with the phone. I do find that the ear tips get uncomfortable after a couple of hours in my ears, but after a short break, I'm usually good to go again.

Cant say enough!

I have a pair of QC15 and the noise cancelation on these ones are same if not better then Qc15. I have tried beats and they looked much nicer but performance and comfort wise, they are no where near the bose headphones. buy beats if you want to go for looks or buy bose if you want to enjoy the music you like listening to. When i review anything i try to review how the manufacture is when it comes to complaints.
