great printer for a great price

from the get go it has been working just fine, easy to set up and the price was right . I don't use it much for photos, just for printing labels and mostly text. great buy

Worst printer - stay away

Ink catridge is a huge rip off, cost more than the printer itself. I did not have problem refilling brother catridges, but this canon caridge comes with chip, which makes it a noghtmare. I am just going to throw the printer out after a month of use....... What a waste. Stay away from canon.

Very high ink use

Bought this printer 2 yrs ago for its legendary Canon scan engine. From a photographic perspective, scans of large photos are high-res, accurate and fast, but I suppose this consideration may no longer be relevant as all printers likely have more than acceptable scanning capabilities using most current technology. This printer will accept generic ink tanks and the original ink tanks can be refilled but the ink monitoring system will not function and you have to then play around by printing a colour test sheet to discover which tank is empty. However . . . this printer is a veritable INK HOG. The manual says the printer will attempt to maintain optimal print quality by regularly running a cleaning cycle and may use slightly more ink in such instances. HUH . . . what an understatement!! After every 3-4 pages it runs a cleaning cycle if there is any break in the feed of documents. When it does a deep-clean cycle periodically, you wait about 2 minutes for the print out while it hums and clicks. In the first 3 months it consumed a full set of ink tanks; the replacement cost then for the 5 tanks was only slightly less than the cost of the printer !!. I print only black-text docs with a narrow, coloured banner and have never printed color photos, so I find this rate of ink use totally unreasonable. I have resorted to turning it off immediately after printing to avoid the cleaning cycles. This has greatly reduced ink waste. Even at the much reduced prices of Canon ink, it is too expensive to run; the cost of ink annually is several multiples of the original cost of the printer. NOT RECOMMENDED based on cost of operation.

Great printer, amazing price on sale.

As an IT Guy I was pleasantly surprised at the setup of this printer. Usually printers are hard, and annoying to setup, but not this printer. Took me 20 minutes or so to finish the entire setup. The photo's 4x6 are amazing in quality, looks like I just printed some from Walmart. It is wireless so you don't have to setup any cords except the power cable. I have been working with computer for over 15 years, and have broke a lot of printers in frustration, but this Printer I would recommend to anyone. Thank you again Best Buy :)

Great printer

I have 3 MX922s and really like them. I do a lot of printing. The software is a little slow at times and print feed is a little finicky when printing on full sized card stock from the lower tray. but print and scan quality are excellent and machine lasts longer than many other printers.

Set up was easy , It is a rather big unit so had to sit sideways on my file cabinet top Prints very nice quality & reasonably fast Lots of software options for various jobs

Easily missed feature - Printable CDs

First, this is the only printer that I have bought. what with having four different colour and one black XL ink cartridges. Produces excellent quality professional photos. But what can be easily missed is the ability to produce wonderful images on CDs. Please NOTE that you must purchase printable white or silver CDs to do this. I prefer the white. There is a small tray that can be easily missed in printer whereby you place the CD on once ready to print the label on disk.with choice of various layouts. The small tray must first be removed from a larger tray. Use the "My Image Garden" icon to start the process. You can google hundreds of images to copy and paste onto CDs - just follow the step by step instructions. You can print any text you wish onto the CDs. Canon support is excellent and friendly to assist you in how to do this. One MUST have the Roxio or Nero CD burning programs/software to copy and burn MP3 songs onto CDs (usually up to 80 minutes of music). Makes for great gifts for friends or relatives.

Print head broken just for 2 years. I did not recommend this product

I purchase this model last 2014 and it was on sale. I didn't use it so often, just for projects and printing resumes which I rarely do. I want to print something this October 2016 and I receive an error on the screen (Error B200) I called canon customer support and they told me that my print head is broken. So my printer is not covered with the 1 year warranty anymore. She told me to either buy a new printer or buy a new print head replacement which is more expensive than this model. Pros: Cheap and the print quality is great You can buy cheap ink replacement online which is inexpensive Fax and scan are okay Cons; Glossy material (body of the printer) looks cheap and it attracts dust Bulky PRINT HEAD HAS A SHORT LIFE SPAN

Not a good photo printer

We have originally been using HP but this canon had a good price and the specs were high in regards to photo quality. Setup was fairly easy. Printer is quite slow. Documents were printing ok until we decided to print a high quality photo. It kept printing a section and cancelling. I cancelled the print and the damn thing kept trying to print the picture. Its an extremely loud printer and slower than the second coming of jesus. If its just documents I probably wouldnt mind this printer.

CANON PIXMA MX922

Received in good condition and on time.I already own two Canon printers and I am confident of its quality and durability.Even though the printer took some time for initialization set up was very easy.Wifi connected successfully without any hurdles.I printed wirelessly using Canon print service App from my mobile and tablet and the photo printing quality was excellent.I printed three colour photos taken from my smartphone with the supplied 4x6 glossy photo paper and the result was amazing.Fax and phone was set up easily and worked fantastic. For the price of [price] it is really worth and I am happy.

works with generic ink

I finally found the ONLY printer out there that works flawlessly with cheap generic- no name brand ink and cartridge (from AliExpress). It costs so much less that regular canon brand ink.

First Canon purchase somewhat a disappointment

This is my first Canon printer. Used HP for years. Price was right. Easy to install. But took a lot of Internet searching to find out how to print in draft black and white mode. Very slow printing in wireless mode. Maybe 2 ppm. Have not used it enough yet to assess ink usage. I will be watching this closely. Also, occasionally, initial booting from start seems to take forever to first page printing. Notwithstanding, print quality excellent. Initial impression is that this model could not service regular office volume needs. Best for low volume, personal use.

Canon Pixmashit printer

I bought this printer for copying as well as printing high quality photos as I read online it was great at both, but not the best. What a disappointment, horrendous printing , absolutely not a photo printer!! I might as well draw the photo with crayons!!! And no USB wires, WIFI Crap, wh needs it unless your computer is in the house and your printer is in the shed in your back yard! HUGE PIECE OF JUNK!!

okay printer

I bought two of these, one for my work office and one for home use. The printer is cheap to buy with lots of features and good print quality but it uses a lot of ink with its tiny expensive ink tanks. It even seems to use up the colour tanks when all you are doing is printing black and white documents. I have brought just about every brand of laser and ink jet printer over the years for my business and home. This ink tank solution is not the best.

Canon MX922 Not a Good Choice for Long term

When I purchased the Canon MX922 I was initially pleased with its overall performance. The printer did everything I could ask it to do and did it well. My only initial complaint was the length of time the printer took to print. As time went on I noticed this printer used a large amount of ink with its constant print head self cleaning process. Canon is known as " the king of automatic cleaning" and for example uses more than 3X as much ink as Brother printers as a result of self cleaning. As we all know all Printer companies make their profit from the overpriced sale of micro sized ink cartridges. After approx. 1 year I had to perform an increasing amount of print head cleanings myself to maintain the print quality which uses a large amount of ink each time one is performed. After 26 months of minimal use my MX922 stopped working because of B200 error. An internet search revealed this is a very common error with Canon printers. Calls to Canon support were useless and they provided zero help. End result is I have rather large paperweight to get rid of. My experience has convinced me to drop Canon and replace this printer with a different brand name( Brother).

works for me

Set up in a breeze. Does exactly what I need it to do (print recipes, photos and documents), copies and scans with precision. Really noisy until I found the "quiet" setting. Which leads me to my one complaint. I am used to printing out the printer manual (have done with all other printers I have owned) and putting it in a loose leaf book for easy reference. As yet, I have not found the complete version of the instruction booklet to print out. .

User manual needs improvement

The user manual is unclear. An user easily gets confused by setting up instruction. The user needs to find out by google such as how to use "WPS" function. The user has to press a router's WPS button to set up wireless printer function. But the manual does not explain it. The printing function does not explain well in the manual either. The user has to play around the function keys to find it out.

Canon Pixma MX922 Printer

I usually rely on my daughter to set things up for me but after I read the instructions I had no trouble setting the printer up myself. It is for home use but I do print a lot of documents and pictures. I find it is easy to print pictures and the color is great. I have to scan invoices to be paid about five times a month and find scanning works great.. If you fine that you are having trouble with the setup or how to scan, print just refer to your manual or watch a online clip it helps.l

DISAPPOINTED

I've had Canon printers in the past and they were good machines. I own a Canon digital camera and it does everything I want and more.Easy to use and great quality. However the MX 922 printer that I recently purchased is one of the biggest disappoinments of my adult life! It's cumbersome to set up, the instructions are cryptic at times and it's cheaply made! The print CD/DVD feature is one of the reasons I purchased this particular printer. The software that comes with it is very basic and hard to use. I like to create my own DVD labels , but with the provided software one is extremely limited with only a few templates. There is virtually no text creating function, only pre-designed text boxes with each template that can't be changed or manipulated in any way. When you do finally get a design that is somewhat close to what you want, it takes forever for the printer to prepare itself and actually print the label. Picture printing isn't much better and the quality is just OK, nothing to write home about. All in all it's a clumsy, slow and noisy machine, poorly designed both in hardware and software. I had an Epson before this one and because of my own stupidity it bit the dust. It was easy to use and the software was light years ahead of the MX 922. I think I'm going to return it and go for another Epson.

Disappointed

I had to call Canon twice to get it operating. Apparently Microsoft in November made an update that was not compatible with several Canon printers. Right now I would say my printer is in limp mode. I'm to phone back in another month when hopefully Microsoft has revised their software. Hopefully then the unit will operate as it should. For now I'm extremely disappointed.

Not the One for Me

While I was very pleased with an earlier MX860 Canon printer, this printer did not measure up. This printer is noisy, to say the least. When turning on the printer, the front output tray suddenly flies open with a powerful, startling bang, knocking down anything that might be in its way. My soda went flying a couple of times. This tray extends across the full 19" width of the printer, even though the maximum width of output paper is only 8-1/2". While one can select "quiet mode" for printing, this definitely doesn't apply to the hardware pre-operation setup. Once turned on, the printer does an excessively long pre-set before beginning to print, making it a slow starter. While I didn't evaluate other aspects of this printer, I chose to exchange this printer for another brand. Just not the right fit for me.

Great printer for value

Most of all I like the WIFI, which I can't print from my phone anywhere,.. nice. Don't care about the fax no one uses this feature anymore. As for printing quality it's good haven't tried printing pictures yet want to see if the cartridge last as long as they say it does to compare it to my 8 year old still functioning HP officejet 6110 all in one. Hell of a difference for this one which costed [price] on sale at Bestbuy. Now only time will say if it lasts as long as my other printers.

Printer was easy to set up, and works well. As others have commented, so far the only draw back is the print speed can be slower then one would expect but quality is fine. Scanning features for documents have been excellent. Fine purchase for home use.

only works 1 out of 10 times

I got this to do some work from home that requires scanning and printing, this is not the printer to do it. it is slow, oversized, takes a long time to setup, scanning wireless requires software that is poorly designes and over complicates things. to top it off half the print jobs I do only print one or two out of 10 pages then you have to power down and start over again. I am taking this product back and going with something else.

Meets My Expectations Completely

This is my first Canon printer and I'm entirely pleased with it. I had no problems with the setup, it all went smoothly. The Scan feature works better than any past printer of mine and it's very quiet. The print feature is a little loud, but nothing that I would find disturbing. I have not yet tried the fax but I don't anticipate any problems. All in all, I am entirely pleased with my purchase.

Good Value

MX922 is a good printer. My second Canon. First was an earlier model MX something. This one prints a page in about two seconds which is fast enough for light home office use. Print quality looks good - Crisp& sharp.Quiet - cannot hear it printing in an adjacent room with door closed. Ink cartridges are very easy to install.; they just pop in. No paper jambs. When it runs out of paper handy message appears on screen.Had an issue getting it online until I shut down my router then rebooted it. Then connection was made and havent had any issues since. Would recommend this model, especially if you can get it on sale at Best BUY for just under [price].

Great all round unit.

I have been using the printer for a couple of weeks now and I don't have any complaints. Photo quality and text quality are great. The scanner and fax work great and the auto feed is very handy. I really love the Google print cloud option and the wireless works great. One thing I have noticed is that the graphics print quality (i.e. printing vectors from Adobe illustrator) isn't amazing, but you're not going to get a better all round printer for [price].

NETWORK PRINTING TERRIBLE

If you are buying this printer for a network based printer DO NOT CONSIDER this printer. I have yet to have this printer work for more than a day as soon as the printer goes to sleep it loses it's network connection and you need to reinstall the drivers. the only way to make this printer work is via USB I would not recommend this product for this reason. It's a shame as the printer has lots of features that are great too.

Great home printer

I really like this printer because of all of the different functions, printing, scanning, faxing, etc. It's quick and the print quality is really good. The only complaint would be that it's a bit on the noisy side, but I think that's normal for an inkjet printer. I also love that it's wireless, making it super convenient to print from my laptop from anywhere in the house.

This "printer" does so much more than print. It has more features than I'll probably ever need. All this at such a low price.

Good prints but slow and loud

I also had an MX 882 that died and opted for the newer 922 due to the sale price and having the features I wanted. It does the job but is slower to warm up and print than my previous Canon printer and is much noisier.
