Ok, quality of print is good, though ink runs out as quick as any printer and it's more expensive because there are more ink cartridges to buy. It is as heavy as stuffed luggage traveling somewhere you plan to stay for a month. It's like a tank. I hate the idea of moving because I have to drag that thing around. It's slow as hell too. It takes about 4 minutes to print a document from the time I hit print to when the paper comes out. It's slower than turtle poop.
I wouldn't recommend it at all.
Great buy. Had some difficulty connecting with wifi. I connected using usb. I then rebooted the CD and changed connection method to wifi and presto, it worked. The printer is a bit heavy and wide, however I'm willing to accept that considering the quality of the printing. I'm also not fond of Canon's dedicated graphics programs but that is a personal choice and would not affect my reccomendation for the printer itself. Hope this is helpfull
Bought this printer in the hope I could get something I could actually print quality photos with.
This Canon Pima Pro 100, does a fantastic job.
Well worth the regular retail price, but if you get it at a sale price, all the more GREAT.
Bought a Canon 70D a few years ago, had a lot of pictures on computer but no prints. Bought this on sale over the holidays and after printing my first picture using the Wi Fi, I was very happy with the quality of the print. Then I printed a picture from my cell phone, and again a great picture. I'am using Plus Glossy II, and Pro Platinum photo paper. It's great being able to print great pictures from home at a decent price.
I've been using this printer for almost 2 weeks and so far I've printed (from Photoshop Element 14) 68 pages of 8.5x11" and 4 pages of 13x19" on Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy and Staples High Gloss Photo Supreme (the setting I've used was Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II). The print quality on these 2 types of paper is very much the same. The color is slightly more vibrant on Canon paper but it's difficult to detect the difference.
I found that the print quality was a bit too dark and too warm, and I changed the setting (from Printer Preferences) to "Light" and reduced the level of Magenta and Yellow by -1. It's still a tad warmer than what I see on my calibrated monitor, but it's acceptable overall.
I used the "setup" ink cartridges included with the printer and the first one (LGY) ran out after printing 64 sheets 8.5x11", 5 sheets after the low ink warning message appeared. At this point the PM cartridge had the low ink warning message. I replaced LGY cartridge and printed 1 page of 13x19" and 3 pages of 8.5x11" before I had to replace PM cartridge (GY low ink warning at this point). Printing another 3 pages of 13x19" and 6 pages of 8.5x11" before GY ran out. In summary I printed total 73 pages of 8.5x11" and 4 pages of 13x19" and had to replace 3 cartridges ($60), low ink warning on 1 (CY), and 2 more that are close to low ink.
I bought the printer when it was on sale for [price], which is a great value. I give 4.5 for print quality, 5 for value, 4 for others. Overall it's 4.5.
I hope this review is helpful to you. Thanks for reading.
I have been experimenting with different types papers and it has been awesome..it is the best value for the dollar's spent...I look forward to using it ...
I love this printer. Haven't done enough printing yet to do an evaluation of ink usage or otherwise, but so far, I do like the large format for printing 11" x 17" and 13" x 19". Awesome.
Loved the prints. Print quality is way better than store prints.
I highly recommend this printer to anyone on a controlled budget .The price will meet everyone's budget I'm sure. Setting up the printer is straight forward and it worked great from the 1st print on. Take your time it is user friendly.
The prints are of excellent quality ..Slow? not really ..I'll take slow anytime for the quality like this.
I'm particular impressed with the little amount of ink I've used. I have printed (7) 13x19 and (6) 8.5x11 the amount of ink in the tanks remain still more than half full!
The Canon Pixma Pro -100 is a excellent product thank you. .
Have used it to print photos and art productions, and it has
produced fantastic results. Very pleased, in every respect.
Still on the supplied ink , and it seems to do well on ink
As a designer I highly recommend this unit. Though the printing speed is a little slow, it's made up by the excellent print quality and the price. Great overall.
A guy from a professional photo lab told me that Canon was putting out some amazing photo printers, especially in the Pro series, so I picked one up. For the price it's hard to beat the Pro-100. I'm really impressed with the print quality. It prints quite fast considering the image quality you get. I recently volunteered to do Santa photos for charity and I was able to print right from the camera to the printer in less than a minute for a 5x7". The ink isn't too expensive either at about $[...]x8 for a full set of cartridges. So far I've printed 65 5x7" and 4 12x16" photos on this set and the ink is still going strong. The only drawback it that the lack of a display means that if there is an error, you have no idea what's happening unless you are connected to a computer. Pretty minor in light of the quality and convenience.
I had a hard time seeing this printer output better images than my old i9900 but I was very surprised with the results! Instead of the red/green tanks it uses 2 shades of grey, this drastically reduces the usage of the photo cyan/magenta inks, which always ran out on the i9900.
The machine itself is massive, and very quiet in use. The wifi once paired works great and allows everyone to use it without having to turn my main desktop on anymore =)
So far the colours have been excellent with no noticeable loss due to the lack of red/green, and the output is much smoother. It also has a rear loading tray for larger fine art papers etc, and a cd/dvd printing tray. Features my i9900 lacked.
I picked this up for almost half price, and if it lasts as long as my i9900 (6+years) I will be very happy!
This printer is fantastic for the entry photographer who want's to start printing from home. This printer puts out better than lab quality prints from home at a fantastic price point. Definitely worth the investment to start putting out enlargements from home.
