Canon 430 ex flash review

Bought in december. So far so good. This flash is replacing a ten year old Canon 420 ex flash and is working as expected. No problems.

Canon Speedlight Flash (430EXII)

Purchased this flash just after Christmas and love it. I have been using the flash on my DSLR for a few years now and been dissatisfied with the lighting on most of the distance shots and some of the inside shots. After purchasing this flash and trying it out I am impressed with the amount of light that this flash provides. I look forward to many more years with this flash.

Used 3 times and now doesn't work

Bought the flash last January used it 3 times. Pulled it out last Thurday put new batteries in it flash no long fires. Even manually all that happens is the pilot light stays red then goes off. Seems to be common feature from my research. Don't waste your money on it.

Canon 430EX ll

This is a good quality, reliable affordable flash. I looked at the knock-offs which were much cheaper, but there were too many reported defects to buy one.

Well worth the wait

I've been wanting to get hold of this flash for quite sometime, the nice deal I got for it during black Friday was indeed worth the wait! Now I could take pictures with better lighting compared to the built in flash. I've done my research for external flashes and this falls to the mid / advanced level but still affordable.

430EX Great Flash

Have used the 430EX flash for years. Great flash, an absolute must for anyone with an EOS digital camera. I just recently purchased a 580EX wow, best flash I have ever used. If you can afford the 580EX, go for it you will not be disappointed, otherwise go for the 430EX. Now that I own both, I've been utilizing the masterslave function. The 580EX my on camera master flash with the 430EX as a remote slave flash. Result....have produced some of the most amazing flash photography...I can only give the 430EX 4stars, because 5stars is reserved for the 580EX.
