Maybe it works but not in my apartment with my fusebox

I have tried this model to connect two different rooms in my apartment. The setup is super simple. One happy, just do not forget to activate the encryption (128 bits compared to usually 256 in HTTPS) by pushing 2s the button below each plug (same mode, they can be swapped) on one plug then on the other. Both plugs were directly on the wall outlet. It works fine in the same room (tried 3 different outlets) but it does not when the second box is in another room (tried 3 different rooms) . If in a different room, they are on a different fuse. The apartment (1988) is equipped with Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI) I believe, not with the old fuses which had to be replaced once fused. Maybe there is some filtering of some sort between the different fuses and circuits. I will have to look at a WIFI extender instead...

Frequent disconnects

Suffering frequent disconnects. Will lose all connectivity, then a minute or two later connectivity returns. I am a professional network engineer that's been networking since LANTastic days (late 80's early 90's) and the lack of any sort of interface, and essentially zero support from the vendor - means it's not possible to actually troubleshoot why these disconnects are occuring.

Every thing is fine

It works as it should do. Very stable. I put the product between client machines and another router which restricts the connection with Mac address. And, this powerline product behaves like Access Point. That means, my router check directly the Mac addresses of client machine, not the powerline product. It impressed me. I'm satisfied very much and maybe buy it again.

Great Product

About a week since (very easy) installation. No issues, no disconnects, consistent/fast speed. Working very well for us.

Simple and awesome

Quick and simple set up. Truly plug and play. Stable uninterrupted connection to the Internet. Performs exactly as hoped. Using it to connect my ps4 which is primarily used for Netflix. Bye bye buffering.

Try before you buy

I bought these hoping they would provide a good, reliable Ethernet connection from my media server to the media room, two floors away. They were a bust, unfortunately, with an inconsistent connection and streaming dropouts. The outlets may well have been on opposite sides of the transformer, but I had no easy way to check that, or assess whether these would work. You can see the very varied experiences of other buyers - they can work well in many applications, but there seem to be lots of situations where they do not satisfy. That makes them tough to buy - if at all possible, see if someone you know has some and can let you try them in your application before you buy. They were easy to set up, and seem well designed, attractive little wall warts.

Slow data transfer

Regret purchasing this product. Spotty connection when two floors away from modem/router. Only works adequately when on same floor and the same electrical circuit. Extremely slow speeds when it works. Loses connection periodically and have to constantly reset to reestablish connection. Awful product.

Impressed

I bought this because I got spotty internet and ping for my online gaming. Before buying, my WiFi had me at 100-300 ping when gaming and after using this product, my ping sits at at constant 40-60, which is way better. I've had this product for about a year and it still works amazingly, even on my new laptop. Well worth the money.

It simply doesn't work

Not able to find 2 plugs in the entire house from which the devices communicate with each other.

It works with little hassle

Works well, just plug and connect. 2 prong plug makes it easy to install either way. Got 1000 mbps.

Unreliable, wasted money

At first loved these but then noticed that under heavy load they freeze and have to be rebooted (others have reported same). Also randomly they get very slow (high ping latency and speed 5% of normal) and have to be rebooted. Prior powerline adapters plugged into same electrical system never experienced these issues.

D-Link Wireless

l purchased this product to use in my home, l'd been having interruptions using my wireless on the patio in my home. Fresh out of the box, it worked at about 60%, meaning l'd be getting a 60 percent of my signal from my wireless modem on the patio. 4 months later l'm down to 20 percent signal, without having changed a single thing on my laptop, desktop or where l have my wireless router set up. l've had Rogers in to check and they're stumped, there doesn't seem to be an obvious reason for this poor performance over such a minute amount of time. Obviously, in good conscience, l'd not ever recommend a product like this, D-Link probably isn't a long term solution to anything like l've described.

Easy to set up, fast, consistent performance.

Very happy with this product. After installing them on my network (plug and play) I ran daily speed tests for a week and always got fast, low latency results.

New, large house. Gamer.

I've only had the product for day so I can't vouch whole-heartily for its reliability but I played 4hrs last night and the Dlink powerline worked without a hitch. It took me a total of 30s to set it up (new house electrical might of helped) and I speed tested and I am receiving 28mbps of my 30mbps promised from the carrier. This is fantastic and very similar to speeds I would achieve with a 80 ft ethernet cable I would've required otherwise. While gaming, I encountered zero lag. I was skeptical at first but after 4 hours I can tell you this product delivers, depending on your wiring state, age, length, and obstacles. Would recommend. (If you don't know if it'll work, just keep your receipt.)

Good value for money

Works as advertised and faster than Wi-Fi. Connected Ethernet from my main computer's router via this PowerLine to a bridged router in another room. The bridged router in the other room serves two devices: another computer and a home theatre receiver so it's possible to extend a LAN to another room. Very satisfactory. Now, I'm going to look for another single PowerLine unit to connect to a third computer in yet another room.

Powerline adaptor

Plug & play as product description. Enjoy steady connection, a much better choice than wireless adaptor. Just got it for a week, so far so good, love the product. I hope it last long with consistent performance.

Works great

Setup is super easy; basically plug in both units, one near your router and the other one where you need the signal. I use this product with my Western Digital Media Player. I only have wireless G in my home and the media player often was buffering, especially when playing HD content. Now Netflix and all HD content play perfectly without buffering. Speed is very adequate for this purpose.

Works great!

Works great. We are very happy with it. Works as advertised. No more wires in the living room.

Not wireless

The unit has to be connected to your router via an Ethernet cable and the other Adapter must be connected to your laptop/etc also via an Ethernet cable. There is no broadcast or pickup of wireless - it is all done by cable so make sure the router and laptop are not too far from the wall outlet to which the adapter is plugged or otherwise you will have to purchase longer cables than those supplied. Having said that, once the system is connected performance is GREAT. The laptop/etc using the adapter is not as portable as it would be if using a wireless connection. However, if it is a laptop then one need only move the adapter to another outlet close to the new laptop position. The system most assuredly eliminates troublesome areas were the wireless signal is weak.

Works very well

Upgrading from the original IOGEAR homeplug. Works very well in a three storey 5000+ sq.f. house, very little loss of speed over distance. 4ms ping from the third floor to the first floor where the router is, so expect some latency if this has to go through a lot of electrical wiring. Not ideal for gaming in that case. Otherwise, very easy to use, just plug one into the router and the other into any other device in the house.

Recommendation

Bought this on recommendation from a hi-tech friend to help resolve my Chromecast plug in for Netflix on my main TV. I run this from an app on my tablet and the WiFi strength from my Cogeco WiFi box (only 20 feet away!,) was intermittent and unreliable. This unit solved the problem. Go for it.

Does work

Set it up in the basement where WiFi signal is weak. Streaming seems faster than WiFi connection. Recommended!

Works as it is designed.

I had a wireless dead zone in one of my bedrooms and this resolved it. Getting up to 105Mb/sec. Highly recommended.

It Works!

This adapter uses the latest standard, AV2, which will ensure interoperability across different brands. Based on my actual experience, it delivers the promised speed. Happy with my purchase.

Works as expected

Using this unit saved me having to drill a hole through a 6-inch concrete wall to run an Ethernet cable. The power sockets are directly opposite on either side of the wall so the connection couldn't be better. Certainly works faster than Wi-Fi but I haven't had long term experience.

No Complain - Works as expected!

For faster Netflix streaming, I use the Powerline adaptor for my 65" 4K curved TV. I can tell difference when you see Neflix loading- faster. No dull buffering time. Only one tip is you have to find right power receptacle while trying other outlet if this Adapter can't sync. I like to recommend.

Works perfectly!

I just got a set of these to use with a room mate, so we could both have a wired connection. We both play games and stream movies, and I haven't had any problems yet! It works WAY better than Wifi

Works great. Fast.

Bought these adapters because I moved my mac into a bedroom and had no ethernet wired option. Download speed dropped from 70 Mbps to 12 via wifi. Terrible! Likely due to interference from other wifi routers since I'm in a condo with 64 units. Plugged these adapters in and speed is now 70 Mbps via the PowerLine. Exactly the same as when it was plugged straight into the router. Perfect.

pretty neat

This thing is great. My only complaint is that the encryption feature gives no feedback to indicate that it is actually working. I followed the instructions inconclusively.
