serves it's intended purpose very well to my satisfaction monitoring our front door, planning to get a couple more for the backyard and the garage. easy to setup too

Not recommend

I am not recommend this product. Very time consuming to install it via my computer to connect the wifi network. I got it success, and then the wifi connection drop after I move to other location and need to reset the device and redo all the set up again. Video and sound quality is not good. However, you pay what you get. Suggest to pay more $$ to get the better quality one.

Don't buy

I bought 2, 1st died in about a year and now the 2nd has died at about 2years. Not good. Imagery was also bad with static lines that would cause the auto record to start in error. Did I mention they didn't work out of the box and needed firmware upgrade.

DLink IP camera

Got it to work reasonably well with a wired ethernet connection, in spite of their t/s who wanted to take over my computer and change a bunch stuff without telling me what they did. It uses Java to do the link to their website so you can watch it remotely. This can be problematic and Java can be unsafe. Downloaded the App that lets you view on an Android tablet. That worked reasonably well. Went 200 miles away, got on hotel wi-fi, could see inside my house. Had to run cat5 wire across house, but no one was supposed to be there anyway. Tried to make it work wireless, it connected ok with open wi-fi. When I enabled WPA encryption, I tried all combinations, nothing worked, went online, lots of others had same problem. I will return this item to the store.

buy better camera

This is very basic camera. No night light , so basicall you CAN'T use it or see anything during night. Returned this modeland bought better camera with night light 932/933L (bit more expensive), but you can use it /view 24x7

As Expected

Performs exactly as expected. It's not an expensive camera and you get what you pay for. I only knock off a star because I with it had better camera performance (low light, wider angle, higher resolution) but all that comes with a higher price tag I guess. Pros: - Price - Easy to use and set up - Reasonably good picture quality Cons: - Poor low light performance - Wish it had a wider angle lens

I set this up outside my front door and enabled email notification if there is movement. So if someone comes to my door I have a picture of their face. Very cool.

DCS 930L

got it on sale. does everything it says its supposed to do. easy install and has been trouble free so far. video quality is ok and a bit choppy but wasnt expecting to be watchin an HD movie. all in all i'm happy w/ it

D-Link Wireless N Home Network Camera (DCS-930L)

The camera does just what D-Link says it will do, easy to setup and it doesn't drop out of the WiFi likes others I have tried. Would recommend it to anyone looking for this type of camera.

Camera ok - software update didn't work

Camera worked great. Wasn't as easy to set up as told, but eventually it worked on my computer and samsung galaxy phone. But within 2 days of getting set up I had to do a software upload to the camera, which sounded pretty easy. Although with a new camera I'd expect it to upgrade the software when initially set up and registered. After spending 2 hrs attempting to get their system to acknowledge my camera (which was online and working as I witnessed on my camera and computer) I gave up and returned the camera to BestBuy. I love the idea of having a camera - wouldn't buy dlink again.

I bought 2 of these cameras to monitor my house while on vacation this winter. One is pointed at an indoor thermometer, the other in a second story window, looking over my yard. One month in, and they work great. Couldn't be happier, especially for the price. Totally wireless if you have the right router. I'll probably pick up one more when I get home in April.

price is right

this camera does everything it is supposed to. I have an android galaxy smartphone and my girlfriend has an iPhone, both are able to stream live video from the camera using a dlink app. this camera does not work in low light. easy to setup. worth the price

Very satisfied with this camera. Read reviews on this site before purchasing and the reviews were accurate. Easy to setup and it was quick and painless. Would buy more of these cameras.

Good câmera

Good for the price. Some lagging and max quality you get is 640x480. But it worths the price. You can record on your computer installing the software. So far so good.

Good camera for the price

This camera is solid for the price. Works with iPhone and Android, works wirelessly. For those of you who couldn't get it to work wirelessly, no offense but learn to read directions. It took 5 minutes to setup and was really easy to use. I only wish it had a battery pack rather than a wire. My next camera will be fully wireless. If your PC can't find it on your network try disabling your firewall, go to start --> firewall.cpl and hit enter. Disable it temporarily. Next if you have an anti-virus do the same with that temporarily. Then try searching for it again, if you've done all the steps properly it will easily find it. Don't give the product a poor review because you're a noob.

Great Product

For the price range camera this camera is great. If you are going to get it do the wired set up and then change it to wireless during the installation process. Took only 10 minutes to set up. Image is clear. People complaining about image quality need to remember they only paid so mcuh! Audio is average, but really it's a camera for viewing. Overall a buy for sure!

Simple setup and great value IPCam

Installed it over the last weekend and ran into intermittent wireless signal problem. It was recommended by D-Link support to move the camera 5 to 6 feet away from my cordless phone base or any other appliances and observed it over 24 hours. I thought it was just a brush off but it's been 3 days and the connection is still working well.

poor product and worse customer support

Bought this camera as a monitor for baby. Will not hook up to wireless router. Dlink support doesn't know why not and won't offer any help. Price was right , hook up via ethernet cable very simple , but I didn't buy it for hard wire. This camera is a bust and from the looks of most of these other reviews , I'd avoid it.

Sounds easy, but hv a lot of problems

I bought it yesterday. Sounds easy, but encountered a lot of problems when setting it up. Software is no good and need a lot of improvement. The video quality is quite poor...quite blurry and choppy. There is much time lag....can not rely on it to monitor security and safety. Finally decided to return it for refund.

Horrible Camera

We wanted to use this as a wireless weather web cam in our house. After all the reviews I read I though the D-Link web cam could do the job. First issue was the wireless connectivity. It would connect, but could not get a good signal. So we ran cat-5 ethernet cable to the other side of the house and set up a completely different wireless network. We first tried it 12 feet away and it was 40% percent we were find with that because the ftp working completely fine. It uploaded an image every 30 seconds. (My mom was really really happy) Then the webcam stopped uploading after about two weeks. So I reset the camera to factory settings and reduced the upload rate to 60 seconds. It also then showed that the wireless was only at 20 percent. So I moved the wireless access point to 5 feet. It was only 5% percent better. So then I tried direct line of sight and 3 feet away and it only gave the signal strength of 35 percent. So I plugged the camera directly into our ethernet cable and that would solve the wireless issue. The FTP would connect but it would not upload the base file name image. It would not upload the base file named image. But it would upload the test image. Sadly the test image would not to the folder I specified but the parent folder of the image I specified. The FTP problems started after almost a month of work properly. I tried a factory reset, I tried every possible setting combination I could. Five years of web design and development and a little problem with a web cam was not going to stop me... I did a few other times and it did work intermittently but it was never reliable beyond half an hour. I phoned the D-Link customer service and that started a 45 minute call of frustration with a fast talking guy with a strong accent who first tried to tell me my poor wireless signal was because my router was only putting out a signal of 35 percent. But when I told him all other devices were recording 100% strength when they were as close to the router as the camera was. His reply. "I can not comment on your router unless you have a d-link router" Ya that wasn't going to happen, but it's ok we can use the hard wired ethernet cable. The FTP I knew was going to be a hard question and without going into the exhaustive detail that was that frustrating conversation that went around in circles. Q. Do you have the path set. A. Yes Q. Can you connect to the FTP A. Yes Q. But the test is not going into the right folder? A. That is correct. Q. You must have set the wrong path. This went around a couple of times. (Like a script or something) Other Questions Q. Are you trying to connect to an external network A. I am trying to connect to a web server. That is what FTP is used for. Q. Maybe try an internal network. A. Why Provide FTP if I can't connect to an external server. Q. I don't know what to tell you sir, but the camera works all the problems you have must be with your network. The camera we have here works perfectly fine. A. Thanks, I will be returning the product. Q. Don't return the camera it works perfectly fine. ~~~~~ What's worse then a faulty product is the horrible customer service tell me I am doing everything wrong and it works perfectly fine for him.

Great Basic camera

I have 2 of these and regularly connect to them from my iPhone, iPad2 or work PC. I have 3 other users checking the camera all through the day with no issues.The mydlink site gets busy mid-afternoon but otherwise i have no issues. It great to see who's at the door so I use a different app so i bypass the mydlink site when im on local network, its much faster. Read the instructions, follow the instructions and it will work fine. This is a great BASIC camera.

Good Camera!

It worked via WiFi and cable connection. I placed it upstairs where WiFi signal is not at full strength, still got very good view. It's fun and useful to use my Android smartphone to watch how my kids are doing when my wife and I were away. The live video over the 3G network was very good but you need to watch your data quota if you don't have unlimited data plan. I am willing to try their night vision model as this one doesn't see well in the dark.

Terrible Cameras

These cameras simply do not work as advertised. The mydlink functionality would not work, and although the camera worked fine when connected via Ethernet, putting it on my 802.11n network resulted in 1-2 FPS when the camera was only 20 feet away from the wireless router. Tried two of these before giving up and getting a different camera.

Good basic camera

They work fine over WiFi. I'm using 3 DLinks (2 x 930L's and 1 x 932L nightvision cam) with iCamSource to stream video to an iPad and iPhone. Setup via browser is fairly straightforward. Only quibble is that the cams tend to stop responding regularly, and need to be restarted (approx once a week). A tad annoying but tolerable for a cheapish consumer cam that doesn't monitor anything too critical.

Does not work wireless

Works great when hardwired to the router but wirelessly does not. I have been troubleshooting this with Dlink tech support for the past 4 weeks and having to do the same thing time and time again, still no go. They tell me to leave it hardwired as they don't know how to support. Will not honor warranty or fix it so that it works wirelessly. Purchased this at BestBuy 4 weeks ago. In wireless mode I lose the picture after 2 to 3 minutes and have to reset and reinstall the device to get it working again only to have same problem. DLink tech support have no clue and have told me to leave it hardwired. Basically not meant to be a wireless device.
