Good range, modest speed

I have rogers 100mbps ignite internet. The wifi modem is downstairs, this usb dongle is 2 floors above. I get 5 bars signal. Using speedtest.net I managed to pull in 80mpbs compared to the Dlink 182 (AC) which I got 130mbps on the 5Ghz band.

Happy

A lot better than the built in wireless on my laptop. Had some trouble with the driver but somebody from chat sorted me out.

Waste of money

If you are within about 20' of your router, this product will work. I had mine at about 25' and it kept dropping the connection, although other devices adjacent to it did not. I have it connected via a 10' USB extension cable, and so far so good. I wish I had read the reviews before I bought it.

I would NOT recommend this!

This product is very inconsistent and compared to other products lacks in performance! Do not buy this product! Save your time and money and move away from buying d-link products in this field.

Generally Okay

I had issues with this adapter with Windows Vista as it took a long time for the OS to pick up the signal and the signal would frequently drop. However, I finally resolved the issue when I upgraded the OS to Windows 7 and moved the wireless router to a new location. At present, it takes about 1 minute or two for the OS to pick up the signal and every now and then the signal would drop for a few seconds. However, I attribute this problem to the computer's location on the second floor of my house and the router's location in the basement. I have no issue with the adapter with the computer in the living room. Overall, the signal is very strong and the speed good for my purposes.

D-LINK does not work long-term

If you are hoping that this will last more than a year, then DON'T BUY. I had issues starting about 6 months...where the internet would randomly disconnect. About a year after I bought it, it almost entirely stopped working. Would not recommend it. Customer Service was not the best as well.

Worst thing Ever

I bought the DWA-130 with the asumption that I could get WiFi to my computer in the basement. This product worked fine in the first couple months. When my computer gets loaded up with to much stuff, the Wifi diconnects. Mostly while watching videos. I could get used to that, but after about 6 months, every second the wifi would disconnect, and connect. Disconnect and connect. Diconnect and connect. After not using it for 2 months, I finally called D-Link and complained. They told me to download the new driver. After an hour on the phone, the new driver wouldnt drive wouldnt download. Today, my adapter wont start. These things seem to only last about 8 months. Dont waste your time, buy something better.

Adaptable Adaptor

I picked up one of these adapters for my Vista OS desktop to give me flexibility - it is awesome, so much so I picked one up for my son's XP OS desktop. Partnered with my D-link wireless router I have been pleased with the speed and stability of the wireless connections.Super easy to install as well

Good low-end adapter

This is a good USB adapter if you need a low-end model. Runs hot and needs a stable USB port.
