Service Technican

I bought for the second time this Wireless router. The first unit lasted over ten (10) years without having problem. It was always connected continuously in order to use 3 wireless computers et 2 desktops in the house. Regarding the speed of transferring data could depend of course of your own computer speed and internal memory. In general, I don't have any negative comments. I didn't hesitate to buy the same type of router especially for a cheaper price.

Prone to defect

The features are standard and okay as today's wireless modems would have now. This modem however is a bit flimsy and it's prone to break down. The one I've bought constantly freezes up on me, so I find myself re-plugging the modem several times to get it working as it should. The experience overall is very unsatisfactory and I wouldn't trust this product to work.

Not worth it

I bought the exact same one 3 years ago and aside from the occaissional disconnect, it worked fine with good range. But it died and I bought a new one 3 days ago and it needs to be rebooted 2-3 times a day. Going back.

D-Link DIR-615

Download speeds of 30 Mbps. The best I have seen from one of these wifi routers.

re-set king

had this connected to my teksavy modem. had to re-set (unplug-plug) twice a day. exhanged this for the dlink tower router, the one that looks like a dome and its awesome. this one.....its ok if u dont have a lot of things connected to it.

Great value

Exceeded my expectation

Bought it in boxing week for [price]. It exceeded my expectation of a [price] router. Better speed performance even than the more pricier AC1000 model.

Worst Router

I bought a Dlink N300 Cloud Router just yesterday and configured successfully. To verify the range of it, tried moving my laptop, smart phones, notepad just a 4mtr away and the signal weakend and the devices were trying hard searching the network connection. Called up customer care and they say they cant help in range as it works fine if the devices are near to router. Cleverly answered. To be frank, we had earlier Netgear N150, which was installed in 3rd floor of the building and we were able to access internet in the 2nd floor in every corner of flat. We even were able to access in the cellar of the building over smart phones. After talking to customer care, i feel Netgear is absolute choice for wireless routers.

Better buy something other than this

Its performance lasts for only eight hour and then what happened ? Same as was described by most of the users. Very poor performance. I am going to return it back.......

Buy a different one

Decided to try it anyways and bought online on Boxing Day which was supposed to be an upgrade from an older D-Link model. Easy to install. However, after a few months, it just completely lost connection. Called D-Link and would have to mail it to them for warranty and they would send same model back. Not worth the hassle .Recommend to buy a different one.

Ive been having internet problems for the last few years....I would always have to unplug the router and plug it back in for it to work. Since the start of march 2013 the internet started going out every 20 mins so I went to get a new router. (I use to have the dlink 150) I got the Dlink N300 and it didn't work from the start. My internet provider is rogers and I had a rogers guy over to help me figure out why its not working and we found out the router wasn't connecting to the modem properly. I returned it and got a LINKSYS. If you have the same problem get the LINKSYS because it is a Cisco...the same as your rogers digital cable box.

Do not buy this Router

I bought this router on boxing week, but installed recently. Now I regret why I did not test it before as I could return it back. The reason I did not test it before because I believed that DLINK is good company and it should be fine but this router have big problem that it disconnects after few minutes and you have to reset it again. Do not buy this router, I have wasted my money but you should not.

Only if you can't afford anything else

Not easy to install, poor performance and limited range, but I bought it cheap as he'll so I. Kept it as a. Backup emergency router, just in case something happens to the real one.

Dropping Wireless

The DIR-615 AND DIR-601 Dlink Routers drop their internet regularly (roughly once every 1-2 days), requiring a reboot to start working again. I have replaced the firmware in the DIR-615 with DD-WRT firmware. At first the problem persisted, but DD-WRT firmware has the option to reboot the router everyday at a specified time. Since I configured the daily reboot, my clients have not had any issues.

Do not BUY!!!

I just bought this on boxing day, went home took me an hour to try and install it and finally calls tech support and tells me go back to best buy for a new one. I see everyone is having the same auto restart and disconnect problems. Now i gotta go back to best buy.

D-Link dir-615 is worthless

All of the other reviews complaining about this router disconnecting, + the fact that my dir-615 also kept disconnecting, = This product is a waste of time and money.

The price should tell you something..

Drops internet and reboots itself constantly. Gets even worse if you connect a wireless printer and smart phone. I would not recommend this router to anyone.

Random disconnects and reboots...

I bought this router because I wanted a cost-efficient wireless N solution. get what you pay for. A cheaply made router that randomly disconnects or reboots. I found out that whenever there was heavy usage in my home (i.e gaming, streaming, and downloading on multiple devices) it would reboot itself. Even during a simple Skype call !!! The wireless range is good but that's the only thing that's good about it. I spent a little extra and bought a dir-636L and I am very happy with that product. If your a regular user of the internet who streams, downloads, games, etc, then stay away from this one. Its good for surfing basic websites and that's it. Spend a little extra and get something else.

Waste of my money

As most of the other negative comments say..this router will keep disconnecting/rebooting itself every 10 to 30 minutes. If you connect a wireless printer, or even your smart phone...the frequency of rebooting itself gets even worse. Avoid this router.

Nothing but trouble

I purchased this router six days ago and have not had longer than 2 hours of wireless connectivity since I bought it. I've called their customer service centre twice and still can't get consistant connectivity. I'm taking this useless thing back

working well

I had this router for over 3 years. Upgraded internal code. Worked well for me. Very occasionally I had to unplug and plug back again but restart is 1min (not 5 min as someone said). Signal excellent. I would recommend it.

D-Link (DIR-615)

Wanted an inexpensive wireless router to replace a DSL cable installation. My ISP said they would set it up for me, but the D-Link Wizard was easy to follow, and installation was simple. Works well, with absolutely no problems. I would recommend any of D-Links products, after my very positive experience.

I guess it's okay...

Depending on what standards you have for a router, this could be considered fine or terrible. I have to reset it once every 2-3 days... get no reception when 1 floor away, but if you have an apartment or don't really download anything, then it's pretty easy to use and works fine. But it's very inconsistent in performance.

This router worked great for 2 months and then became intermittent. 2 months later, it stopped working. It gets better... I called D-Link to help troubleshoot, I spent 3 HOURS on the phone with them, and they refused to help. I bought a different brand and it works fantastic!

not good

had this router for just 9 months. Constantly drops the signal and have to reset it at least once a day if not more. Crappy range too. Would not recommend this

Drops Internet Constantly

I picked up this router because it was on sale. Now I know why. Best Buy had a huge stock pile of it. Obviously that should have been my first sign. I hooked it up easily and then was ready to go. The internet would drop every two hours. I'd have to reset it and then it would work again. Then 2 hours later it would drop internet. Don't buy this, it sucks. Unless I got a bad one? I don't know. But I took it back and picked up a Netgear instead and haven't had a problem with it yet. Plus the netgear looks better and takes up less space. Don't waste your money on the D-link N300. It is on sale for a reason. It sucks

just bought it today hooked it up can't even pick up my wireless smartphone from upstairs in the house had a hell of time installing it as well gonna hook my older one up even though i had to reset at least once a day at least i can use other wireless things in my home

good value

I don't need a high-performance home network, just one that provides reliable internet access for 2-3 devices. My previous router would not allow more than one device to connect at a time. After trying various settings I switched to the DIR-615 and it just simply worked. I only used the setup wizard, nothing further than that. Signal strength is excellent throughout my small three storey house (with the router on the third floor to keep it out of the way). I have tried my BlackBerry 9900 (via Wi-Fi) simultaneously with my home laptop and response was very quick. Also, running the microwave used to knock the home laptop off the network, but the DIR-615 seems better in this repect. I am very happy with my purchase.

Constant loss of signal

This router is not worth your time. I have to reboot it at least once, sometimes as many as five times a day because it loses the signal, or something. Each reboot takes about five minutes. I'm not a tekky, but I've spent two occasions with D-link tech support, logging about two hours with them and still have the same problem with this product. I'm amazed that I haven't had to reboot the router just so I could write this review!

You can't get a better router for the price

I'm using Rogers interent to connect up 6 devives - all wireless. I had purchased a netgear router for more money and returned it because it needed to be reset every 2 days. I've had this for about 4 weeks and perforamnce is good and the signal never cuts out. The price was also really good. Give it a try.

Great little device

Good... Ish

I have used this router with many devices connected, wired and wireless, for a couple of years. It has worked great with only minor issues. It was not the fastest router I've used but it got the job done and had full bars everywhere in my 1800 square foot house. Don't buy this if you have a blackberry product! Whenever I tried to connect a blackberry torch to the router, it completely crashed. I found multiple other cases of this happening on Google with all kinds of blackberry devices, strangely only with blackberry and other RIM devices though. If you have a Blackberry, just buy a Linksys router.

This router was purchased when it was on sale. I thougth I should trust the brand but I was wrong. I am a computer technician and have used 5+ wireless routers in my home, this is one of the worst. Setup was not hard (to me), coverage is OK to my townhouse (not excellent but acceptable) but after just a few days I need to reset the device manually every a few days otherwise the signal just disappeard. I have 10+ clients connect to this router and some time suddenly none of my devices can find this router. Also the router looks cheap. It is not worth your hard-earned dollar, especially if it is not on sale. I have to return it to Best Buy today and get a more expensive one. I do NOT recommand this router. No cheap D-Link any more.

Locks up everyday

Bought this router to replace one about 6 years old, that was a mistake, the old one is better, Have to reset this thing at least once a day in order to connect, Range is poor . It's junk.

Good if you know how to set it up

I've purchased this router since April 2009 and it's still working. It was one of the early version of wireless N and it costed me twice the price marked today. I used mainly for Internet browsing and gaming. My network consist of 7 items, all wireless : PS3, Wii, 2 laptops, 1 desktop and an iPhone. There's tons of options and very easy to install. In fact, you don't even need to use the install CD if you know how to set it up through the router admin menu. The speed and range I get is on par with other routers that I've used. I get a connection of 54 Mps on wireless and ~100 Mps if hooked through wire. Speed test shows Internet max DL/UL connection speed from my provider (depends on your plan). Network speed test however is quite low if wirelessly transferring files @ 2Mps but goes up to 10Mps through wires. One solution that could help lowering the package dropping is to assign a IP network address to each of your items. The router will recognize all connected devices more quickly. It also prevents unwanted intrusion of your network. From time to time (approx. every 2-3 months), you might need to reset by turning the router on/off but that's something that I see in ALL other routers too. In sum, for the low price, it's a good buy but be prepared to read a bit more about home networking.

Need to reset regularly

worked well for first 6 months, had it for a year looking for something else now at the point now where need to reset the router half a dozen times a day. Don't upgrade to latest firmware as it causes problems as well. Connection drops and re-establishes itself

Works good with firm ware upgrade

I had hard time with upgrading firmware. Before upgrading, the downloard speed was about 1 mbps through wifi while the download speed was 26 mbps through LAN cable. After the 4 hours of strugling, I finally updated to the latest firmware and it works very good for money. The download speed through wifi are now 24 mbps in the same room and 15 mbps at next room. My complain is that the pdf manual didn't explain enough to upgrade the firmware so many people have had problem with upgrading firmware. If you want to upgrade your firmware, you have to keep press reset button and disconect power cable BEFORE AND AFTER THE FIRMWARE UPDATE. I think most guys don't have enough patience to look up these information. I recommend asking technical support if you have any problem with upgrading.

DIR-615 - what a waste of silicone!

This is the most disappointing electronics product I've bought in a long time. It doesn't support even basic VPN functionality, although the literature implies that it does. If you are looking for even a basic router I would stay away from this one - who knows how many other basic features are not fully implemented. If you have already bought one, at least I found Best Buy really does have a hassle-free return policy (30 days) and I was able to exchange mine for a better working, lower cost Linksys router.

Awesome router

I asked the BestBuy sales rep which router was the best and he said he used this one at home and it worked great. My house is mid sized and I was toally suprised to see that I can even get a signal in my backyard. I've been using this for 3 weeks on the rogers network and it works very well!

Wow this router is terrible

I bought this router in August 2010. I have been using it for a few months and have had TONS of issues. I normally wouldn't even write a review but to see another person actually buy this router would be horrible. -First if you like resetting your router alot because the wireless signal decides it doesn't want to allow computer to connect anymore. This is the router for you. -If you want a decrease in speed while hooked up through your router. This is the router for you. -And finally my router has finally stopped functioning because it is pretty terrible. I called D-link service...I get though all the menus to hear "All our lines are busy at the moment, Please call back later. Goodbye!". It has been 2 hours and no luck getting any service. Adam D Honestly go linksys there products are superior to any D-link.

Good value and solid performance

I purchased this to replace a Netgear 3500L that I need to reset almost every day. It gives me great coverage throughout my home. Setup was easy and its been stable for 3 weeks. I'd recommend this to anyone.
