Are they worth the money

I bought these about a year ago. Yes, the sound and separation are excellent. The highs, mids and lows are fluid and work in harmony to produce a very life like reproduction of music. You all know all CDs are not created equally so you may have to adjust your sound accordingly to each artist. The only downfall is cranking up the Subs during movies. They seem to be a little over powered to a muffling boom. I have since turned them down and added a Infinity Sub. I prefer my movie booms to be hard, quick and ground shaking. Like music I like the bass to thump but execute it clearly. Turning up the subs on the Defs makes for a droning boom rather than a percussion boom.... overall my best speakers over 35 years of replacing equipment every 7 - 10 years.....

Complete Package

Just buy these 2 Speakers and you don't need 5.1 or 7.2 .I have these speakers with Harman Kardon Receiver. Very precise Highs and Lows and Midrange. Bass is exceptional for this size. They will shake your room. One thing I didn't like is the cloth screen they have used to cover the speakers. It might tear up if you take off or put on few times. They should have separate Detachable screen for it. Little expensive.
