Great Printer, easy to set up

I just bought this printer yesterday. not really understanding computers and how to set up the printer to wi-fi I had it up and running in less than 20 minutes . no problems. I am using this mainly for my photos and I have just printed off a few pictures with great results. If first impressions are any indication I would recommend this printer to anyone looking for a small all in one printer.

Not as small and compact

The printer is great and works well. Easy to setup and wireless connectivity is great. Only con for me was it isn't as small and compact as I thought! Great for the price though..

Bad Choice.

The information received with the Disc said it would give me instructions to follow. Only window that opened when I inserted disc was a message saying "This disc does not contain any pictures or videos." I called Edson service line on my dime, was connected to so called expert who took my information and phone number and went away. In about five silent minutes ,I enquired if he were still there. He said he was reading and needed more time. Ten minutes passed. I again asked if he was still there. I asked him to call me back when he had it figured out. He said he would check with supervisor and then promptly hung up on me. No return call. Unbelievable bad service. I am returning product.

Expensive printer when you need $80 color ink to print black and white

Requires color cartridges to print black and white. Color is used up when you run out of black ink. Color photos do not come out well on this economy printer so you only use color to compensate for when you run out of black. And when you run out of color you need the color to print the black. BS.

A gem

Got it on sale. Great machine it you treat it gently. Color prints on photo paper are crazy good (with high res pictures of course). Had I know it was this good, I would have bought 5 at the price I paid because the inks are more than I paid for the machine and it came with the inks lol. Great buy.

Great little printer

I was looking for a small, reliable printer that I could use occasionally for photos, and the odd letter or template. I've never owned an Epson before so I was a bit skeptical to try it out. Well, I am very happy with it. Easy step by step setup and the WiFi connected without any issues. I was printing photos off my phone in no time (takes approximately 7 minutes to charge the ink once the ink cartridges are initially installed, but no time after that). I printed a few 4x6 photos on premium glossy paper and the quality is close enough to professional as possible. It's got a slick appearance to it and simple to use controls. The display is a little small, but it is still readable and clear. I haven't tried anything on regular paper yet, but I'm sure that it will be good enough for what I need. I'll be looking for the Epson name from here on out for sure.

Excellent Quality Prints

I have never had a printer that produces better photos...even at twice the price. I would give it 5 stars except that having to change from the photo tray to paper tray manually is a bit of a pain. Should have bought the next model up which holds both. Overall great value!

Great prints, moderate cost

For those reading the 1 star reviews from other owners, take their comments with a grain of salt. Here's the actual underlying issue: The printer itself is an excellent compact all-in-one. It does document prints at acceptable quality, and definitely produces above average coloured photo prints. As an amateur photographer that does not have the budget to grab dedicated photo printers, the XP-530 has definitely satisfied my need to do small prints. Another plus is that it is TINY compared to other brands, and does a noticeably better job at colour prints! (do note that the upper limit for paper size is Letter, you can't even feed it Legal) The real issue here is that the xp-530, like many other modern printers, is chipped, and therefore non-OEM cartridges will not work, refilled old cartridges (that has not been digitally reset) will not work, and that drives the price of prints higher for those who need a budget friendly printer. For those more tech savvy, there are workarounds for this issue. But there are no ready-to-use after market cartridges available as of this review. So, if you continue to print using Epson-branded cartridges, prints are going to be more costly than other models where after-market products are available. But if you're looking for quality photo prints, Epson's Claria formula has proven itself worthy of the extra cost. It is outdoing both my previous printers that were twice its price, and Epson's Claria is far more UV resistant (does not fade). Bottom-line: affordable printer, high quality prints, slightly above average running cost, no after-market cartridges.

great photos

I bought this on sale at [price] off so it was a good deal. I've been using it for about a month and no issues. I had an hp before and it kept disconnecting from the wireless signal and wouldn't print. This has linked up every time. I bought this mainly to print pictures and a few documents. Everyone is impressed with the quality of the photos this little printer prints. Bright colours as well. Bestbuy sent us a coupon to buy ink after purchasing this, so I will do so right away as the one review said it was difficult to find ink for this.

BE SURE TO READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY!

Most printers now days are so cheap (low cost) so that you then have to buy that manufactures ink, and that's what they want. Unfortunately there are some printers that won't work if even ONE of the colors run dry - this is one of those printers!! I was very happy with everything about the printer, BUT was I'm not impressed by is that when my 'Cyan' ink cartridge ran low, the printer would not let me print until I replaced that one color, even though all the other colors were still about 1/4 full. Even if I tried to print in just black it wouldn't allow it, and basically rendered the printer non-usable at a time when I urgently needed to print something. My advise is to look for a printer that has one cartridge for black, and only one for all the colors. That way you can have a spare of each and you don't have to buy the individual colors (which often cost almost as much). I've also read that this is an Epson thing and that many other printer types don't have this same issue. Just be forewarned so you don't get stuck like we did.

It's a gem.

I chose the 530 because of its ultra slim design. The smaller size offers less automatic features and requires more manual steps when printing and changing paper. But it's so easy to use this is not a problem. It's quick. Turn it on and it's ready to go. Printing is fast and the quality excellent. Photos are exceptionally good and far better than those produced by my previous HP printer which specialized in printing photos. Love it.

Epson XP-530 Printer

I like this printer it's useful to me at a low cost and gives me what I need. The X P-530 gives me prints photos copies and has a spot to put your memory card to get the job done the salesperson and they do not rush you, but actually help you. The best place that I comment is Best Buy easy to talk to before you make a decisions. I have a Laptop and Printer from Best Buy and do not have any problem, also if you have a problem they will take it back and ask yiu what's wrong with the item. From Mike P.

Quiet, easy to operate

This is a great printer. When it was delivered, I was able to use it right away, easy to set-up and the wireless connectivity is really convenient. Also, it looks really good and sturdy. Plus, the 2-sided option is truly amazing. It saves a lot of time. I have not tried the photo printing yet but I have tried printing on colored ink and I love the colors- alive and bright just the way I like it. I am very pleased.

Poor print quality

Poor print quality esp. in landscape mode. Spreadsheets showed a step break at each printhead pass. Only fix is to print in the best quality mode which uses more ink. Otherwise features and speed were good. Returned it and bought an HP Envy 7640.

Epson small in one printer

Very happy with this printer! Love the ability to get double sided printing with out having to touch the paper. I haven't used it for photo's yet but for all other printing it has been very good, an excellent value or the dollar!!
