For producing easy, breezy 3D movies this is the best product out there. I was lucky to get this on sale too. GoPro supplies a free version of Cineform software to make and edit your movies in 3D. This is a huge bonus and recommended to anyone interested 3D movie production.
Grabbed this while it was on sale, and the first video produced was automatically recognized by my Panasonic 3D plasma as 3D content, and looked quite good. That was the one and only time this system has created a video that didn't require any editing to turn out right. I've tested it quite a bit since then and have had to edit the 3D convergence settings using GoPro's Cineform studio software (free) with each to get it to look ok, and none have come out as good in 3D quality as the first.
Another issue is that turning both cameras on with the 3D Sync cable connected usually results in one freezing and needing the battery pulled, so I have to turn the cameras on and then plug the cable in, which is an inconvenience but works. A little research shows this is a common issue with the system. GoPro support (I think they have 1 guy working there) said the firmware on the camera was out of date, but that solved nothing. I've read that they have blamed the sync cable for others, but that also solves nothing apparently.
In short this system will work but be prepared to do a little work after the fact to make things look good. One camera also seems a little looser in the housing than the other, so an anti fog insert (or a beer coaster, or something else to snug it up) might be required.
