Wouldn't buy it again

Huge problems with the Beats audio from day one. After 14 months the touchscreen stopped working because the driver has disappeared. I tried to download the driver from HP, but none is available. They told me to bring it in for servicing. Last week, after 18 months use, the network card stopped working. I updated the driver and it worked for a week before acting up again. Sometimes I can get wifi, sometimes it won't connect to the web. The battery is now useless. I can only operate the laptop while it's plugged in. Very disappointed with this machine. I'm now shopping for a new laptop and will not be buying a HP product.

Could be less expensive for its specs

But here's a pro-tip: Reinstall the OS, it keeps rid of the bloatware that's slowing it down. The CPU and HDD aren't fast to begin with, and doing so really helps.

I wish the keys lit up!

The only downfall is that the keys don't light up. I use it mainly to stream tv and Movies. Sometimes for work, but mostly at night when watching tv. I'd say everything else is great but that's the one downfall :(

Somewhat disappointed

I bought this for light school work. I hate windows 10. Its not really fast but is fine for what im using it for. Honest truth it was the cheapest for the size. I needed something small so I can put away/hide quickly so my 20 month old doesnt fight me for it. Wish it was less expensive considering the specs. I could have bought something that costs less and with better specs but i really needed the something that was compact and this was my only choice without spending even more then i have to. Battery life doesnt lasts too long either.. id give this product 3.5 stars.

Works

My wife mostly likes this. We bought it during Boxing Week on special to replace an older laptop that was long past its best-before date. She liked the size and appearance quite well, though Windows 10 took some getting used to for her. For the most part, it serves her needs. From my perspective, as others have said, it's a bit slow. I disabled as many things as I could, but it still lags a lot. It's underpowered for anything but basic tasks, but Win10 isn't designed for basic tasks. The lowish RAM isn't the issue: it's the processor. Almost everything else works more or less as it should and the touch screen is quite nice. Until it shatters under normal use.

Excellent Laptop

Great little machine. Small and compact with lots of HD space and a decent processor. RAM is only 4 GB but I will probably upgrade to 8 GB if needed. (so far so good) Price point was good as I got it during a Boxing day sale. I have not use the tablet mode enough to comment fully (I would be good if the board keys retracted in tablet mode or a cover was provided by HP to avoid damaging the keys if it was placed down in a rough surface. The battery is internal so what happens if there is a need to change the battery? Overall I would recommend this device.

Cute, but VERY slow!

I was so excited when I purchased this labtop - it was the perfect size and I loved that I could use it as a tablet as well. Unfortunately, when I turned it on I immediately knew I made a mistake. First of all, anytime I tried to right-click a file, the program would stop responding. Moreover, anytime I opened more than one tab on the Internet, the computer would freeze. It also took a very long time for apps to load. I purchased this labtop mainly for school and watching movies/downloading music. I thought that the Pentium Processor would do the trick, but I guess I need to spend a little more and get a faster processor.

Decent but still bad

I have this laptop, and it's alright. But if you're going to buy it be warned: IT GETS SCRATCHED SO EASILY! I bought it one day. A pen fell on top of it, and left a mark. Not a pen mark but a scratch. Be careful with this. Yes, it performs okay. Good for word processing, surfing the web, and other things. It sucks at gaming, you can't even play Minecraft properly. You'll only get like 20 fps. So when you do buy this laptop, consider all of those options. But the keyboard is quite nice, and the convertible part of it is awesome. If you watch a lot of videos or movies it's good but horrible for gaming. But if you're not worried about that, give this a try.

Slower than older models

I bought this for my daughter who wanted to use this mainly for internet school work. Out of the box it was slow to begin Windows 10, and once set up it was slow to activate Cortana due to not understanding the language I chose, which was English. The bezel is huge making the screen smaller than it should be. The final straw was during my daughter's use of the program and the processor and GPU speed was unacceptable for her needs. She is not a gamer. We are returning the computer.

Stuck with Windows 10

The specs for this 2-in-1 laptop is okay; I would have preferred at least 8GB of RAM over 4, but I can live with it (at least until Microsoft ups the requirements for Windows 10). As a 2-in-1 'convertible' laptop, I find it just a bit too cumbersome in its tablet mode. It's a little too heavy and bulky to hold. The touchscreen is a welcome feature, however. I sometimes do Android app development, and a touchscreen can sometimes help. My real gripe with this laptop is that you can't properly downgrade to an older version of Windows. What I mean by this is that you can install an older version of Windows on it, whether that would be 7 or 8/8.1, but HP does not offer you any drivers for the said operating systems; you are basically stuck with Windows 10. If you're looking for a sleek, portable 2-in-1 that is OS-downgradable, the x360 may not be for you...unless you're planning on using Linux, then by all means, go for it!

HP 360 Laptop

Bought this laptop recently to replace my older HP 360 as this has more storage, etc. I love the 360 which made me purchase this upgrade. Just getting used to Windows 10. I waited for a good price and am happy about this choice. I truly love HP products. I love the size, light weight and versatility of this laptop. I would definitely recommend this laptop.

Good value for small laptop

Bought this to replace 8.9 inch Acer that finally died after many years of use. Mainly to browse the web and backup and view photos when we are on vacation. It seems to do the job really well, rather zippy for the web. Tried an Acer that was same size & almost same processor (N3700 vs N3710) but found the Acer bogged down when on the net. Could be because this HP has the small SSD hybrid drive but the HP boots up quickly and does well on the net. The other benefit of this computer is the IPS display. Much better viewing angle, esp the vertical. Nice when my wife and I are both viewing pictures together. Good value, esp when on sale.

There's no 8GB SSD

This computer is suppused to have a 500gb/8gb hybrid drive. But the drive I got is this one: WDC WD5000LPCX-60HAT0 That's a Western Digital 500GB drive, but I can find no reference on line to make me believe that it also has 8GB SSD built in for caching. The specs printed on the box also make no mention of an 8GB SSD. I'd like an explanation but when I called the store, they were unable to tell me anything convincing. Also, it doesn't have core i3 (so the logo should not appear on this page) or a numeric keypad. Perhaps the person who wrote this page got confused? As far as I'm concerned, I paid for a laptop with a hybrid drive, and that's what I'm owed. Can anyone out there give me any convincing information on this? I do like the laptop, though and would recommend it. I just don't think it's advertised correctly here.

Pavilion review

I was looking for a tablet and I needed one that I could plug in a USB and at times an HDMI. This computer up to now is the better of both worlds.

great little laptop.

I bought this laptop for school. I had a bigger nicer laptop from when I graduated high school but the battery was getting bad and it was too large and super slow. this laptop is perfect and just what I wanted: lots of storage, fairly inexpensive, light weight, and quick to boot up. I never really use the tablet mode, but the touch screen is really great. the track pad isn't fantastic, mine makes a weird clicking noise but the touch screen makes up for that. it's got a great keyboard, it's just not backlit. I would recommend this laptop overall if you're looking for something that travels well and is middle of the road for performance. it's not a replacement for a tablet though.
