Solid quality/quiet

I wanted a printer that would work with both Microsoft and Apple devices. With Airprint capability I can print from iPhones or iPads, as well as laptops running Microsoft Vista and Win 10. Convenient, and saves time. Did not like the original ink cartridges failing during setup.. . . .

Good quality/ price

I purchased this printer in sale as I needed a colour printer scanner for home as I'm mostly working from there. The price was excellent for the features of the printer so it was a no brainer for me! The setup was really quick and easy and the most important for me was the wireless capability. Printing is quick enough and very quite - amazingly enough! - so no complain about that, however I must say that I'm not impressed by the quality of the scanner so far as each scan I've done has some black marks on so scans are not the most immaculate and readable documents - far from that indeed. I might need to open the scanner and check it but haven't had time to do it yet, hopefully that will resolve everything!

Great Quality

Very sleek piano black all-in-one inkjet printer. I bought it based on a review in Consumer Reports, which turned out to be very accurate. I don't need the fax, copy or scan functions, but buying a print-only printer is next to impossible. This does the printing jobs for text and photos admirably.

Excellent Quality Printer

I purchased this printer on a whim as I do sometimes work from home and I'm very glad that I did. It was very easy to set up and took less than 10 minutes to have everything hooked up and ready. I only use the printing and photocopying features though, so perhaps if someone is going to hook up their fax line, it may take a bit longer. Anyway, it is very good for light-medium usage but I would not recommend for a full-on business as I can see that it can go through ink quickly. A great buy for a regular household and light office work. :o)

Just Got it

I have just purchased, for my daughter this printer. So far so good. It's only been a week but my daughter seems pleased.

I would never buy this printer again!!!

I bought this printer for a quick office use at home, however it has been nothing but frustration at my end. -During printing it cancels the print and does print head alignment. Go figure, it must be done often! -Most of the time the wireless doesn't work. I have to restart the printer often to print something out. -To print a simple document out takes a long time for the printer to print it. It stops a lot as it prints. I wish I have never bought this!!!!

Gets the job done! 5 stars!

I purchased this printer almost two weeks ago and so far I have no issues with the product. The print and scan quality are crystal clear and the colors in coloured prints are very vibrant. The printer comes with a nice lcd display that is touch sensitive so there is no lag. The printer also has a very sleek, smooth black design, it has a very stylish touch aspect to it. The printer also comes with a slider that catches the printed documents which is very nice because you don't need to sit in front of the printer to retrieve the paper. The printer is also wireless and can connect to any smart phone so you can print from anywhere within a room close to the printer which is convenient! The replacement ink is not too expensive either. Also hp offers an instant ink replacement program that allows you to print a certain amount of pages per month and before your ink runs out, they send you a replacement cartridge. The hp instant program promises to save the customer 50% on ink however your printed pages are limited per month. You will have to see if the program is right for you, at least you have an option. The cons about this printer is the double sided printing because it takes about 4 minutes to print 8 pages double sided. The printer takes some minutes to connect to wifi after turning it on however, I think you can connect to this printer directly using a cable cord. The printer is loud but I don't care about that. Other than that, the printer is excellent.

HP is too invasive

HP designs its cartridges so that consumers cannot refill them on their own. So you end up having to pay a fortune for ink if you don't want to be annoyed with low ink and cartridge alignment error messages. It will prompt you at every print job. So you have to dismiss the error message every single time you print. Will never buy an HP printer again... should have gone with my gut feeling on this one.

Smart printer

Love this printer, smart and fast!

Good for home use

It's a good printer but not for an office. Goes through ink very fast. Had this printer for only 2 weeks and had to replace the ink 4 times already. Slow on faxing and printing but it's good if your just using it at home.

I have this printer for more than two weeks now, and I am very satisfied with this product. It is very easy to set up, and have printed both photos and documents (which look great) from both my IPHONE and my wife's SAMSUNG phone without any problems whatsoever.

HP Envy 7640-e All-in-One Inkjet Printer (Copier, Fax)

We purchased this to replace our Envy D100 Printer, from which the wireless kept disconnecting from the internet. The Envy 7610-e-All-in-One the wireless connection seems very reliable. The print quality is comparable to laser, but the colour photo quality if not as good as taking your photos to a one hour photo centre; flesh tones come out realistic and about the same as what you would get from a one hour print centre. Although the unit comes with a software disc, the view screen on the printer instructed us to go to an internet site with the up-to-date software; thus set up was extremely fast and easy! We have not tried the fax machine yet. Overall, for the price and with the extra features our old printer did not have, we are very please.

Well done HP for this wonderful new model

A great printer and a very good value for the money paid for it. I recently bought this 7640 all in one printer for my daughter use. We find it very helpful and easy to use particularly its versatility with WIFI from both our laptops and iPhone as well as iPads. It's printing quality and the excellent features are very useful in printing copying and scanning with its paper feeder mode which proved to be real handy and excellent quality. Well done HP keep up with introduction of such wonderful and real useful products.

All in one does everything well

- All in one with a small footprint - live in a condo and don't have much desk space. - Lots of connect option - tried usb, wifi, but decided best for me was to set up as network with ethernet cable for 1 desktop (network), 1 laptop (network), 2 android phones (wifi direct) and 1 iPad (air print). - Other features I like are: - Print quality is great in standard mode with benefits of auto 2 sided printing. - Tested word, excel, 2-up and photo. - Scanner has a document feeder that allows scanning of legal size paper. - Copier works as stand alone and can also use document feeder. - Many other features that I might use someday - fax, scan to e-mail, ...

Sure, it works, but I'm NOT happy with it.

I was under pressure to replace my printer because my old hp 1610 psc finally conked out on me (after ten years of solid service,) so I quickly bought this one without doing any research first. I thought I was lucky to catch this model on sale -more than 60% off. When it came, I discovered a couple of things that I didn't like. Right out of the box, I found that the power port at the back of the unit (the part that you plug the chord into,) was wobbly. It isn't fixed rigid to the outer housing, and when I plugged in the power chord, it felt like it was going to wiggle loose and get pressed inward. Poor quality control during assembly, I guess. Second thing I noticed was the print catch tray was poorly assembled -the two halves (top and bottom) weren't pressed together properly, it's misaligned so it appears squished together improperly and the edges don't meet up against each other. Again, very bad quality control during assembly. This made me wonder if I bought a refurbished unit -that would explain the massive discount, or maybe this particular unit is a lemon. This unit is bulky. It takes up a lot of space at my home work-station. Next to everything else there, it looks like a monstrosity. After setting everything up and getting started with it, I noticed more things that I didn't like. The cover doesn't have a positive place to lift it up, there's only a slight gap between the lid and the main body, there's nowhere to grab it from -you got to wedge your finger tips in-between the cover and the main body. So when I'm working with it, there's an increased chance of the lid slipping off my finger tips and slamming down on the glass -and the lid is heavy, so it does slam down. Also, it doesn't have actual 'buttons' that you push. It has those lit up led sensors for a 'power button' and 'home' and 'back,' and they're so close to the gap between the cover and the main body. I don't like that because a few times (while reaching to pry open the cover to change pages during a scan,) my fingers accidentally swiped over those 'soft button sensors' thus powering the unit OFF in the middle of a scan -which really annoyed me. When I'm working, I don't want to focus my attention just to lift the cover without touching those infernal 'buttons' that are so close to the tiny gap between the cover and the body. I do a lot of scanning, and during the first fifty scans, the unit malfunctioned -twice! (During the middle of a multiple page scan,) it just froze up and the computer displayed an error message that it "could not find the scanner..." The 'scan doctor' (which is included with the hp software during instal and set up) indicated a problem with the driver and that I should shut everything down and do a restart -computer AND printer. This really irritated me because I had other programs running doing other things, and I had to save my work, and interrupt everything in order to reboot. Then I had to create a separate pdf file (as a 'part two' of the scanned document I was working with -and then I had to use other software to merge those two separate pdf files into one complete document. Also, the scan speed is not impressive. It's about as fast (or slow) as my ten year old previous unit. You'd think that a decade would show progress... Next is a really weird thing, I fully took note of how this unit affects my computer during the boot up sequence. I used a stopwatch to time this: Before, (with my old printer,) my computer would fire up and be ready to go in one minute and thirty-nine seconds. Now, (with the hp envy unit plugged in and powered up,) my computer takes FOUR MINUTES AND FIFTY-FIVE SECONDS to boot up! What the heck is that all about??? I've done this test enough times now with the hp envy plugged in and powered ON, and powered OFF, and without it altogether, and with my old printer, and without that as well. I simply don't understand how this unit makes my computer take almost five m

HP Envy 6740e Wireless All-In-One

So far so good. I haven't had it for long but it has been easy to install and use. Set up was fairly straight forward, even for a technical idiot like me. It doesn't take up too much space on the desk. I don't have much experience with these products, but I think this one does what I need efficiently.
