Not Perfect

1st thing very difficult to install. Manual is garbage. Best Buy customer service is really good they helped me to install the printer. Very difficult to connect with network.

The Worst

Want to spend much of your work time enraged? This printer is odious and will drive you berserk. Do not buy this printer if you have a wireless set up, value your time, or ever have to print anything immediately. The way this printer works is that its wireless shuts off if there is a pause in use. That means that if you pause between print jobs, and you need to print something, you have to shut down and start up both your printer and your computer every time you use the printer. I hate this printer so much.

Hey This machine is truly awesome

i got this machine recently and so far is one of the best printer i ever had, i just connected the printer and set up itself i don't need to do nothing coz have an automatic set up feature that do it itself and i can print from my computer and from my tablet and I'm like *0* amazed coz i never knew i can print wireless so i can scan, print and copy, it says that i can use fax but i don't have landline but its ok

Good Budget Printer

Bought at 2016 Boxing day sale. No issues with WiFi printing at all from my cell phone. Very happy so far compared to my previous inkjet printers which need ink all the time or plugged up.

+ Beautiful Print Quality - Wireless Connectivity

The Pros - beautiful print quality The Cons - difficulty with the wireless (which is most likely the fault of my wireless network, not the printer). In addition, the printer came with very poor instruction sheets/manual.

Printer will probable work fine when conected through USB but it is complete garbage as a wifi printer. Purchased because it states it is a wifi printer. scan works provided you manage to find to scan software not included and must be downloaded through the windows store. Can not print at all when connected to a wifi network. Software will state it is connected but there is no option to select the printer in the print options. HP support is useless and hp print doctor just puts you in an endless loop of reinstalling the drivers. Will not purchase from HP again

Impossible to install/connect, continously states Printer is OFFLINE

Overall, the printer is great, WHEN and IF you can make it communicate with your computer. I used the installation CD, re-directs me to download a later version on HP's website, I did everything as stated. Then the issue happens, CANNOT communicate with printer. One time it prints, then the next time, it does not. I did not change anything. Turns out, after googling, the printer continously changes its IP or something as a security safety. Frustrating as hell. Google "HP printer keeps going OFFLINE" and you'll see hundreds of people witht the same issue. I had to read 29 pages of forum to find the "answer". But even then, the settings wouldn't let me do what the "answer" stated. So i gave up on wireless, hoping to just do stupid USB. FAIL. Again, couldn't recognize the communication/connection, so even a simple USB connection couldn't be established. As the forum stated, this dynamic IP thing will affect even USB connection. I tried everything HP's website said. Uncheck OFFLINE use, etc... NOTHING worked. Even forums said HP help line had no viable solution. Until that one guy on the forum found out about the dynamic IP thing. Sadly as I mentioned, my computer/printer still wouldn't allow me to perform allt he steps that the forum fix stated, so mine is still not working 100% of the time. I am about to throw this printer out the window. What is the use of the printer when you can't even connect?? Oh ya, the few times it printed something, there's black marks on the right edge of the paper. Another issue I have to fix after fixing the connection issue (if I can even fix it). I bought this for my Dad as a xmas gift. What an embarrassment. I spent literally 15 hours on this already. I think I'm beyond the 14 day return period (since my Dad was away for xmas vacation, so didn't open in Dec) DO NOT BUY

Works in Linux

Just leave this here in case anyone is interested. Installed in Mint 17.1 with no problems after I downloade installer from HP. Got working in Slackware using CUPS and upgrade of hplip, after many false starts. In both cases eventually get message that asks to download proprietary driver from HP. Only using USB not bothering with wireless. Scans and prints OK. Got on Boxing Day.

Bought this product yesterday and it's working well so far! I used to have an inkjet printer so having a laserjet one is a nice change (better quality and doesn't take as long to print). My only problem is that I wasn't able to install the software to my old MacBook Pro. Idk if it's bc of HP or my mac (granted it is 6 years old). I was able to install the software to my new Mac air without a problem. I just don't like how the software CD is only for windows not mac.

Memory Problem?

Purchased on Black Friday sale. Initially happy, easy set-up yo home network; however, after about 3 weeks it would not print. Spent about 2 hours chatting with HP online support before they determined that it was a printer problem and would need to be replaced. I decided to return it to Best Buy, and to their credit, no issues. They exchanged it right away for an identical unit. With the new unit, had same problems with home network, so I installed it directly with USB. This worked for a few print-outs before it would not print in any configuration. Could not even print reports directly from the printer, it gave a general 49 error. Could not even copy with printer as it says memory is low. 256mb should be lots to do a copy. Will return this to Best Buy in next day and buy some other brand. Will not buy HP again!

so far so good

Only had it for a couple weeks now but seems OK. Found it fairly easy to set up which was nice. Wife has no problem printing from her iphone or ipad. I've always had good luck with HP printers so don't expect any problems.
