This is a great replacement for my 10 year old Dell XPS 720. I don't game hardcore anymore and just wanted something fast and reliable. However this still works well for most gaming applications and can handle everything I throw at it so far. I wish there was room for upgrading: extra hdd's, maybe a vid card. The integrated graphics seems to be powerful enough for what I need it for. Very pleased for the price.
Bought this on a whim to replace my fried Dell XPS 720 that was over 10 years old. I don't game hardcore on pc anymore and just wanted something that worked and would be reliable. This still let's me play games on steam and is a fast, compact machine. Good deal.
ive had this computer for around 5 months and i do recommend this to people who want a medium gaming pc and high end work pc this pc has 12 gb of RAM so it can handle any application smoothly, you can also do some gaming on this but i would suggest you upgrade the psu to maybe a 300 watt or 400 watt and get a gtx 1050 ti if you want to game at 4k this computer can handle 1440p surprisingly well.
I snagged this little guy during a sale, and for the price paid I'd have to say that this is a really nice machine. It has a current generation i5 6400T Skylake processor, 12 GB of RAM, an M.2 port, a nice sleek design, and a very small footprint. What this computer doesn't have is the room for any expansion aside from simply upgrading components in place. There are no spare SATA ports so when I added an SSD it was in place of the DVD player. The player is still installed so as to preserve the look, but it's not connected to anything. There is room for a graphics card, but it won't be a gaming card. This computer was not made for that so from there not being enough room inside to not enough power this computer will still be happy as a casual gaming machine for games of yesteryear or Sudoku.
Minimal HP bloatware, with the typical anti-virus trial program. Just wipe it and reinstall the Windows 10 Home from the Settings page under Update & security and you'll have a clean activated version of Windows 10.
This PC does have six USB ports with two USB 3.0 support, front and back headphone jacks, and HDMI as well as VGA out, so you can connect it to a TV if you'd like. Then you can compute in 1080p. I don't have a 4K TV so I don't know how well it works, but there is support for 4K so you can even make this a multimedia device and hook it up to your new 4K television.
Overall, I have reflected upon this purchase after the fact, and quite often agreed with myself that I would buy this machine again if I had the choice. Comes with a USB optical mouse and USB keyboard, and a power cord in the box and for the average casual user this is a great buy.
I have not had this product for very long but so far I am happy with it. It is quick to respond and suits my needs. I did notice right off that it is quite noisy; something I did not expect. I am not a fan of windows 10 but there was no reasonable windows substitute so I guess I just have to live with that, Overall, good value for the money
Got this on sale during boxing week. It's a very capable computer. Fast four core performance. Plenty of RAM for just about any application and loads of storage. The onboard graphics won't be handling any hardcore gaming but they should be able to handle just about anything else.
I bought this on a sale a couple days ago and its been working great, everything was working straight out of the box and was fairly easy to setup, i bought this because i wanted to spice up my setup with a nice new computer because the old Asus one i bought 2 years ago wouldn't let me install any new hardware in it so i had to buy a new one, if you want to work or game on this its great! it can handle any game old and new i through at it in 1080p 60fps! and it can also sometimes handle 1440p but i would reccomend a better graphics card like a gigabyte geforce GTX 1060 for anything higher than 1440p.
I bought this computer on a black friday sale, and have been very happy with it. I am not doing any gaming with it but it was easy to set up and has worked very well.
you get 2TB of HDD (Hard Drive) that is amazing most people only need 1 TB. 12 GB Ram is too good you only need 8 GB. The only down side is the Graphics Card is is pretty 4/10 but you can always upgrade to a better graphics card example GTX 1060 which can run all the games out there. the intrl core i5 is beast and is compatible with all games and software.
I bought this PC to replace my Lenovo I3 which crash. I had no problems in receiving it. It was shipped within 2 days to me. I set it up with no problems. It runs very good. Would recommend it to anyone looking for and I5 computer.
Was happy to buy this on sale, hoping to upgrade the graphics and the storage, to play OverWatch.
The computer works great out of the box, booting in 20-30 seconds. Setup takes an hour, like uninstalling useless apps and installing anti-virus, Chrome, Adobe and Office.
I have upgraded the graphics to NVIDIA GT 730 (this low-profile card seems to be the best dedicated solution, as there is not enough room for a high-profile card, with the momboard power cable hugging the PCI-E slot), the power supply to EVGA 430W (you must ply an edge of the computer chassis to fit this power supply upside down), and the storage to SanDisk Ultra II 480Gb SSD (EZ Gig IV cloning software by Apricorn included).
Now it boots in 12 seconds, though keeping the original WD Green 2Tb HDD and the SSD bootable and Windows-able is problematic. Do your best setting BIOS and UEFI to recognize your drives. I have also removed the DVD-Writer, to fit the graphics card, and am using its SATA port for the SSD.
Solid everyday performance as you'd expect from a computer with these specs. Lots of connectivity options, and the built in Bluetooth is a nice touch to connect a wireless keyboard or headphones.
One funny thing is that it has no internal speaker at all - so you need to add some external speakers to hear any sound.
Wish it had a memory card slot also compatible with XD instead of just SD, but I know XD is on the way out.
Overall, very satisfied!
I did lots of research before buying this desktop. I liked what I read, and it had everything I wanted. I purchased it and brought it home to install. It would not power up, grr. I contacted HP Support and they asked if there where any lights on and did the fan work, NO to both. Then we went through a routine to try to boot it up by holding down the power button, nada, nothing. So he said it was DOA, tech supports words, not mine. He said to take it back to store, so I did. Luckily they had another one in stock so I brought that one home. Wait for it, yes the exact same problem. It would not boot up. This time there was a green light on the back and the fan worked, but not the rest of the computer. So tomorrow I will be returning this one and buying something completely different. Sorry HP, but enough is enough. I have been a loyal HP user for 20 years but time for a change.
