More than gaming

It does what you'd expect a system to do with the advertised components. Excellent price when on sale. The bloatware is minimal except what Windows force-feeds the users. Would recommend this machine for non-gamers too if you want a fast machine for photo and video processing.

Awesome unit

This is the fastest machine I've ever seen. Fast and smooth. Love it.

AWESOME!

This is the fastest computer I've ever seen! Working in Microsoft Office is a dream, whether in Power point or Excel or Word. Super fast. The only weakness is that while they say it's expandable, it really isn't. If you want to add an SSD drive, you need to remove the one inside and replace it with a bigger or faster one. You see, the power supply inside the box is only good for what's already there. So, not really expandable. Having said that, I really don't think that for the next few years anyway you'd want to expand it. It is reliable, rugged, meant for gamers, streams all kinds of web content quickly, and like I said, blazingly fast. I am a very satisfied customer. Best Buy treated em very well, explained all the other desktops, and it was my choice to get the Omen. So far, I just love this machine. Amazing.

Awesome pc

By far the fastest most complete desktop i have ever seen. I'm not a gamer, more of a surfer of the web, and also use this for work. Boots up in no time; apps are there almost instantly, like Word or Excel....only critique is that it is not truly expandable, unless you switch out the drives it comes with. Power supply is not available for additional drives. Also, the DVD reader/writer is noisy.

Soo Fast!

Very Fast. Up and running in less than 10 seconds. Lots of room for everything. Weakness, you can't add another drive..no power supply. also dvd writer makes lots of noise. Still this is the fastest computer I've ever owned.

brilliantly fast but misleading technical specification.

This PC is amazing and is brilliantly fast as a desktop computer. I would have given it 5 stars had it not been for the misleading technical specification. The HP web-site lists the same model with 4 DIMM slots and M.2 slots. This same model sold by bestbuy only has 2 DIMM slots and no M.2 slots.

Awesome

Had it for a couple months now, I use it to play my games and stream them at the same time. The CPU is a monster and can handle so much. I mostly play Overwatch and can get almost 200 frames with everything on low (which is how I play all my games, I like low settings for everything). The GPU, from what I'm told. might not be able to handle a 144hz monitor (right now I play on a 60hz), so thats the only area that I may want to change but other than that, a great rig.

Love the computer, bummed at misleading specs

Only negative thing I have to say about this computer is that I bought it with the idea that I would be able to add a 2nd SSD to it for extra storage. The specs say that there are 4 hard drive bays but what they don't say is that you need special mounts (not included) and that even though there are 4 bays, there's only enough power cables available for the 2 drives that come with the computer. Other than that, it's blazing fast and is the best experience I've had with using a PC.

Best machine in the segment

I bought both models, the envy phoenix (last years model, same computer just with less SSD) and this new Omen. I originally bought the first one for graphic design, rendering and visual effects, but it is good for way more than that. The Phoenix performs way better than I expected that's why I got the Omen for my studio (Phoenix isn't sold anymore). A bang for the buck, no issues with either one of the PCs. If you were to build the same machine, you will pay much more.

A good choice in a pinch

I've had this machine for a little over two weeks. It's replacing an older custom order desk top. So far it does everything I need it to. My only gripes if I can even call them that, would be with the preloaded software or lack of same in some cases. As much as I like this machine I was getting a bit tired of the constant pop ups trying to get me to purchase or install additional software, and to allow more of my personal information to be accessed. I've since learned how to shut most of this off, so it's all good at this point. Although I think Cortana's time is nearing it's end and will be the next to go.

Had for almost a year, works like a horse!

Wonderful machine. Got over a year ago for graphic design, animations and rendering. This machine works like a plowing bull. Renders ultra fast, and recent games work very smooth at 60-120 FPS on high or ultra. I got the same Omen phoenix model with the same specs from last year. (The price is now higher on this OMEN model) *Three minor issues you must be aware of when buying this PC: - Once you use it for hard processing work like rendering/vfx/cgi or play strong games on ultra, the i7 cooling fan will make a grinding sound, roar and buzz to the point it will shake the desktop and the table. Not all models have that issue, but some have that defective fan/motherboard build that will cause this issue. Mine is currently at the warranty center being repaired for the second time due to this issue. You might consider upgrading the cooling system to a professional one at some point. - The SSD is pretty small for the price you pay. Again, might consider upgrading in the future. - The video card you get is very weak for the price you pay. Suggest picking this one if it goes on sale, or upgrade the video card at some point. Other than those issues, I would definitely recommend this computer and this OMEN series. Works very strong and good, and has a very slim and attractive design to the box.

The best computer desktop

The desktop gaming specs are compatible base on power supply and you can upgrade for the future. This is the best tower for the latest version of application using Solid works, Autodesk and Intergraph 2D/3D software's.

New is old again

Like what Keven mentioned, I purchased the same PC last summer, but for me I did not wait for a sale from Best Buy, or anyone else, I used the power of the Internet, or more precisely - GOGGLE. I have used this method of purchasing for over a decade and saved money simply by knowing exactly what I want to purchase, usually by reading different reviews...after I know what I want buy - I do my Best Price in Canada search. For this beautiful HP computer, I first noticed a review from last December, explaining the internal parts alone would make it difficult to build a PC for the same price, when on sale. So when I purchased this HP CPU, there were 50 reviews, mostly ALL GOOD explaining the quality of parts used in the build. This is when I did my search using the product number, or the name of the product, then type your Product# in the search engine or GOOGLE: Best Price in Canada GOOD luck, save time, gas and headaches - Allow your PC to save money!

So much more money for the same as last year's model?

Like, really? HP jacked up the price of basically the exact same model I bought last year, by so much? The only thing I can see is that is different is that they increased the SSD from 128 gb to 256 gb. Otherwise, it looks exactly the same. I mean, really, they couldn't even have put in a gtx 1060, and slapped in another 960, which will probably be good for like another year or two tops? The only thing that has changed is HP's greedy appetite. While I have been completely satisfied with last years make, I may get someone to build me one, next time, in order to save quite a bit of money. I'd give last years model 4.5 stars. I'm giving this 3.
