simply the best

Haven't found anything close to it. It has the most accurate sound of any of the others in the store. Go demo it and you'll soon realize most other portable speakers are coloured to sound a certain way.

Musicians Dream

I'Ve owned and auditioned a lot of Bluetooth portable speakers. On sound quality this one is amazing. It doesn't favour one kind of music over another, but is precise in what it delivers. And yes like other reviews it is loud. And the best part is being able to go Bluetooth with the ipad and plugged in with the guitar simultaneously. I use a yamaha silent guitar direct and it sounds awesome. Next experiment is to try my zoom H2 in monitor mode and see how those stereo mics sound...stay tuned.

Great desktop speaker to run guitar through!

This review is delayed as I had to return the unit (it kept going into standby mode in the middle of playing guitar through it). I received a new one this week from IK Multimedia, and now it works great. Took a while, but their customer service was great - they could replicate the problem and shipped me a new one. This little speaker can really crank guitar through it (I use Amplitube PC through a usb interface). I needed a good option as I live in an apartment and can't use my full-size amp, and this is perfect. I haven't tried running anything else through it yet (games etc...) but I'm sure anything would be just as good. As with other reviewers, I would prefer the volume knob to be finite so you can see what the level is (it's an infinite knob with no level markers). Also, my understanding is that you can't connect a guitar directly to the 1/4" input even though it has the irig pro components built in (you need to run it through software simulation like Amplitube PC or ipad). This doesn't really bother me, as Amplitube is great, but would be nice to have the option. If you want a great sounding speaker with a small footprint (especially for guitar), I would definitely recommend the iLoud!

Not great.

Seemed cool online but was definitely lacking when I got my hands on it. Plugged my guitar into it and the sound cut out about every 5 minutes. Didn't matter if it was plugged in or not. Returned it.

Great speaker!

I have tested in stores, several different brands and models of 'Bluetooth' speakers, at different prices from $100 to $400. No store had one of these to test, but I did find several reviews online, and also some audio comparison tests. Without hearing this speaker 'live' , I ordered it based upon my research - after all, it could be returned if I wasn't happy with it. I was blown away by its performance. It is everything that it is advertised to be! Great sound, easy to link, and no distortion even at its highest volume. It has inputs for 1/4" instrument plug, and a mini-plug input as well. Worth every penny - it outshines even higher-priced units.

Fantastic Portable Speaker

The iLoud Portable Personal Studio Monitor was definitely worth the wait. This speaker makes everything sound good, and I love being able to hook it up wired or through Bluetooth. I have tried it with the PC, Mac, iPad, Nexus 7, PS Vita, Nintendo 3DS, Yamaha MOX6 synth, Casio XW-P1 synth, Casio XW-G1 synth, and even Guitar Hero on the Nintendo DS Lite. This speaker sounds great. I can't believe such big sound comes out of such a small box.
