Terrible purchase .

Screen turned black after 1 week of use .

Not a true 4K display.

I picked this television up to use as a computer display, as it supports 4k at 60hz refresh rate with 4:4:4 colour space. Seemed like an incredible deal, until I got the thing home. Solid areas of colour are drawn with a slight but very noticeable checkerboard pattern. Text and thin lines appear slightly ragged and dotted. It turns out that this is an RGBW panel, which adds an extra white subpixel, but without increasing the total number of subpixels in the overall display. It essentially decreases the resolution of the display by 25%. Probably fine for general television viewing, but if you need actual 4k resolution, this set won't provide it. I'm keeping it as a computer display, as it's significantly better than 1080p even with this issue, and a true 4k display with an RGB panel would cost quite a bit more. Two stars, because this television is being advertised dishonestly.

43" 4K UHD LED Roku Smart TV

So far so good. I'm surprised by the other reviews. But we've only used our new TV a few times and have had no issues. Great picture quality. It's hooked up wirelessly and a Blu-ray/DVD player for cycle training attached. No setup or working issues. Arrived a day earlier than promised. I will be keeping my eyes open for the issues others have mentioned. But right now it's working great.

Great TV

We got it a few months ago and it's great. The Roku interface is simple and there's tons of tv apps you can get as well and the picture quality is stunning when you play around with the picture settings a bit

Garbage TV

The wifi has connectivity issues, sometimes it wouldn't connect. Tv just died after 6 months. It wouldn't turn on at all. Luckily Best Buy allowed me to exchange it to a different brand.

Tv looked great, nice and lightweight and had great picture....for 3 days! Screen went fuzzy and could not change it. Tried rebooting and still no good. Taking it back today!

Still can play 4K UHD on XBOX ONE S with the right settings

As the above reviewer mentioned there is no HDR on this unit. But it can still upscale games and play UHD Blu-rays on the XBOX One S with the correct settings. It can play 4K at 60hz. Just set your xbox one on 10 bit, uncheck 24hz, allow 4K, and set the resolution to 1080p. I played an UHD Blu-ray movie and some 4K Netflix movies in 4K 60hz. And they look fantastic on this setting. Downside is there is no HDR and you get what you pay for. I recommend this unit if you are low on a budget.

Only average at best

Has software designed during initial setup to force you to sign up With the Roku streaming video service before the darn thing will work. Sneaky and objectionable trap for the unwary. Picture is only average at best and the skin tones are very difficult to get right.

Great Buy

I bought this tv about a week ago on sale and so far it has proven much better than its competitors in this price range. it has beautiful picture quality and the added Roku interface is a bonus. I'd highly recommend this if you are looking for a 4K Smart TV at a low price range.

Video format not supported

It has a usb port to play videos from usb. But most video formats are not supported by roku. You would pay to get a player which supports most videos. Better option is buying an android tv. Why would you buy a tv with usb port but do not support most video format?

Potential but buyer beware!

Save yourself possible stress by contacting the manufacturer or provider of the components which you plan on using with the TV before deciding to purchase!! This TV doesn't support hdr. Don't know what that is?neither did we. Xbox one s and the bell 4k receiver do hdr and are not compatible with this TV You will not be able to watch uhd video or watch 4K ABOVE 24HTZ. Bestbuy and insignia were useless! We were left alone to do research. We returned for refund at our expense! Pros roku, 4hdmi, and excellent sound! Good luck .

Best tv/monitor for the buck

With my 4k computer i needed a 4k monitor but monitors are soo expensive for no reason. For way less money i got a tv to watch 4k netflix and a giant monitor to play game at 4k. What to ask more ? I dont know!

Price and quality is awesome

I bought it a month ago because of price. But I really like this TV. It consumes more power but not a big deal. I would recommend it. But do not forget to have maximum GSP, I got for 4 years and got fully covered.

Good Value for Money

Very pleased with both picture and sound quality especially for the price I paid.Easy to set up and use. It's a keeper.

Not actually 4K when I bought this thought it would be better than the 6 year ago DYNEX but no I have seen there smaller and cheaper tv that where not 4K and made by insignia that have looking better Picture and the resolution is 2160p it says that on the side of the box in small print and 4K is around 4000p or Close to that

Works well as a TV but not as a monitor

The picture is very crisp and I really like the Roku interface and remote. Unfortunately (and I feel bad taking away a star for this) there is pretty significant display lag when using this TV as a computer monitor. The simplest test I could think of was playing a video and seeing how far out of sync the audio was. I had to delay the audio by almost 500ms to get the two tracks to line up. If you're planning on using this TV as a monitor (which is probably a small minority) then I'd look at something else. I've returned this one and am currently trying to find a 4K TV that works well as a monitor... If you're just using this as a Netflix/TV machine in a living room, then I'd say it's well worth the money.

Very good

TV picture is beautiful. Was easy to set up and use and connected quite efficiently to the home wifi. Has four hdmi inputs which is more than many of these have and is easy to switch between them. Price was excellent for an ultra HD with Roku, probably made by Sharp. Not a lot of channels broadcast in 4K yet but we'll be ready for it and in the meantime, the HD is crystal clear. The Smart features with the Roku included work well though some Roku channels are not all they're cracked up to be. Some you need to subscribe to but there are plenty of free.

Very happy with it

Bought this on sale, seemed to be a very good deal compared to other similar smart tvs and it had the Roku build in which is a bonus. Easy set up, love that it has 4 hdmi connections. Easy to use, beautiful picture. Very happy with it.

Insignia has to work on...

It could be a great TV but it doesn't have 4k upscale, doesn't have beautiful vivid green and red colors, the black is not bad though but the contrast poor a bit, Xbox one gaming is blurring, I will return and I'll save some more money for a Sony or LG 4k....

  • from Cambridge, ON

setup was easy I was a little worried when I read the review on the poor text results in 4.4.4 chroma setting but i made sure my pc and the TV settings were right and the text just pops out. videos are good all so far is good And I got it at a great price on a one day sale. Very happy with this purchase 5 stars

  • from Toronto, ON

Good budget 4K TV but beware of chroma 4:4:4

For regular TV use this product is great. The picture quality is better than similar Vizio TVs and the Roku OS is great. I got this TV to use as a computer monitor because of the advertised chroma 4:4:4 support. Unfortunately as a computer screen this TV does not perform well as the text does not look clear. When displaying the chroma 4:4:4 test image it is clear this TV does not support it. Would give it 4-stars for regular TV usage, but deducted a star for the false advertising.

Amazing 43 inch 4k Insignia!

Very clear picture,4 hdmi, sound above average, excellent Roku platform, good picture from the side and surprising upscaling from 1080p to 4k ! 60 hz but at 43 inch action movies and sports do look very good and clear... The tv stand could have been a better quality but other than that, very surprising! Being a fan of Samsung and Sony,i am very impress buy this Insignia 4K... Without a doubt, one of the best deal out there for a 4k especially if bought on sale... Congratulation Insignia!
