Kingston reliability: bought 2 both died

I bought 2 of these based on "Kingston reliability". They both died.

Not Real USB 3.0

Write speed is 3.5MB/s. Too slow. Wasted me money and time to buy it. Please don't buy if you care about write speed.

very slow write speed

Read speed is pretty good but the write speed was really frustratingly slow. I guess there's a reason it's the cheapest available.

Ok for price but slow

If you need to copy basic documents and small pics it is ok. However, the write performance is poor. Really no benefit in it being USB 3.0. My other larger USB drive is 3 times faster.

Not Worth The Money

This has to be one of the slowest USB drives I have ever used. It is supposed to be USB 3.1 but really should be 2.0 at best. I was copying 650 MB of files from a USB 3.0 port and found it to be painfully slow. The process took almost 5 minutes. Reading back the info the other way only took 45 seconds. I tried the same process again with a Lexar USB 3.0 drive that I have had for more than 2 years and the process of writing the same files took all of 45 seconds. There is no data on the Kingston website that gives specs on the write/read speed. This drive is rated as USB 3.1 but that is only for reading and nowhere near that for writing. I would not recommend this drive.

I like Kingston drives, but not this one.

This is the only drive I own that does not have some light to let me know when the drive is being accessed. That is a feature I find useful, and its absence is something I find disappointing.

Pretty good for its price

As I have been using a more expensive Verbatim 64G Store N GO usb 3.0 flash drive for some time, I compared the time it takes to transfer a 1.3 GB video file in 1080P format to each flash drive. Not that this is a standard use of flash drive for this kind of content, but the test allows to assess both the data inscription and retrieval time for each drive. It took 3 min 35 sec to transfer the file to the Data Traveler and only 1 min 51 sec to the Store N GO. Playback Video and audio quality were about the same however.( Both occasionally showed similar intermittent jitterings lasting 1or 2 seconds each time, but the overall quality was quite acceptable). All things considered the Data Traveler is an excellent drive when price is an important factor.

Not usb 3.0 fast...

Key is well made, and solid. Color coding help to recognize side. But my, Ohhh my it is not fast. Transferring either large or multiple small files, didn't go faster than 5MB/sec. On usb 3.0. (I'm usually achieving over 20MB/s with all other key and external Hard drive I have. Good product, but very slow. (No matter what formating file system ans AUS i used...) Kinda disapointed in the product.

Fast Drive & Smooth Transfer

Transferring files into the USB Flash Drive is fast even though my desktop & laptop both use USB 2.0. It's color coding on the back makes the design very eye catching & the loop makes it very comfortable to carry it with my set of keys. So far I have used it for sometime, one of the most secure ways to carry important documents such as class lectures, assignments & so on. In simple, it has enough room to save most of the important documents.
