Not Omni-Directional For Me

I purchased this item because I wanted to be able to grab the signals from both Toronto and Buffalo. Installation was very easy and it helped even more because I attached the antenna to the support post for the recently vacated satellite dish. Upon plugging it in and doing a channel search on my TV I was able to find only 3 channels...all channels I can pick up without an antenna. Not satisfied with the result I went back on the ladder and moved the antenna so it was facing a different direction. Lo and behold I picked up 9 channels. From there I kept tweaking it and the number of channels would vary from a low of 3 to a high of 16 dependent upon which direction the antenna was facing. Being happy with 16 and realizing that no amount of tweaking was going to gain me additional channels, I settled on that location and happily watched TV. The next morning I was down to 6 channels and back on the ladder I went. Maybe my expectations were too high but my thought was that it wouldn't matter which direction the antenna faced and that I could just plug in the co-ax and be on my way. Sadly the return period has passed as I didn't get to this mini-project until the time had elapsed. Maybe I can get a few channels in my shed so I can hide from the family. Definitely not keeping this one on the roof. For clarity, my concerns are with the omni-directional aspect of the antenna. The channels it was bringing in were crystal clear and I am aware of some environmental challenges around my area. It was the varying channels as I moved the antenna that are of concern.

Tested most - This one wins!

I wish someone had submitted this review before I went to the trouble of buying/testing/returning several antennas to Bestbuy. I live in a concrete building downtown Edmonton. I tried two RCA indoor ones mounted beside the window (that are about the size of an iPad - one is more expensive/bigger), the Clearstream indoor one (with a reflector plate behind it), as well as the Clearstream indoor/outdoor one with the two flat circles in the shape of an 8. None of these would get more than 4 or 5 channels and the signal strength was about half. Save yourself some time and get this one first - it has the strongest signal of all of those I tried and I can get 8 channels, including CTV and Global, which I couldn't get on the others.

Omnidirectional outdoor HD tv anteena

I bought this two weeks back. It is very easy to install. As it is omnidirectional, so doesn't matter how install it. In Montreal city i was able to tune 17~18 HD channels. Picture quality is great. Only i found the coaxial cable comes with power adapter , it is little shorter. It would be great if they could make it 2 ft to 3 ft. I will recommend to buy if any one is looking for easy to install, small outdoor HDTV antenna.

Good product easy to install.

Installed it on our 2nd floor balcony on an 8 ft plastic pipe. Hardest part was drilling a hole in wall for cable. After hookup the tv was able to find 19 channels of free TV. Just like that.

very happy with this product

Found this very easy to install and works great . My location has a lot of trees but we still get 22 High Def channels . I would recommend this product to anyone . Had a aluminum one which also worked fine but the winds over the years finished it off . The best thing its multidirectional.
