As a computer power user, I find this USB drive to be very effective.

I am startled by the number of negative reviews. Perhaps my careful bearing is the cause. I have gotten excellent use out of this drive over the past six months, that said, I *always* follow this advice: -Always 'safely remove' the drive using the OS before pulling it out of the USB port -Never pull it out of the port in the middle of a file transfer -Don't store it in your back pocket or somewhere it is likely to break, get crushed, get wet, or get overheated. -Always keep backups of all files, in case of unexpected corruption caused by the OS freezing, etc. This drive is of all-plastic construction, so perhaps the negative reviewers have handled it roughly. It has not broken on me. I have never had any file corruption. I get the full speed that I expect when I use it in a USB3.0 port - and it will go slower if used in a USB2.0 port, as any storage device depends on the port's speed, and USB2.0 ports are themselves slow. The convenience of any USB flash drive tends to lead people to pull out the drive carelessly before the OS has been able to save the data correctly, and that is probably the reason why so many reviews state that they've lost data or that the drive is corrupted. Don't rush things, and you will not have such problems. All in all, a great product, but depends on the user to keep it safe and well-maintained.

Do not buy, even if the sale price seems to good to pass up

Bought this on sale and, fresh out of the package, it wouldn't work I was excited to have a flash drive this big on hand to help store/back-up important documents and images. Very disappointed.

Great Jump Drive - As fast as your slowest USB port

Purchased on Boxing Day Sale and loaded it right away. I noticed other complain it was slow which is false. It is after all a USB 3.0 drive and needs to used in a USB 3.0 port to achieve the speeds for transfer as advertised. It is only as fast as the slowest port on your PC or laptop. Works like a charm.

Unreliable

Extremely unreliable, was unable to use it in Mac OS, had to format it first in a Windows machine then it worked with Mac, very slow, even read speed is terrible, would not recommend it!

Do not buy - flimsy, did not work most of the time

Returned it after a few days. Plastic USB plug very flimsy and will break with a bit of use. USB plug will not stay in the extended position when I plugged it in. Most of the time the PC did not recognize the drive (works only about 1/3 of the time). Cheap but you get what you pay for.

Disapointing

I bought this Jumpdrive on sale. I have other Lexar Jumpdrives and never had a problem. I am running windows 8 and the first time I tried to use it to transfer files it stopped working and said I had to format it. Every other flash drive I have used is plug and play. I tried formatting several times and every time I got an error message." Unable to complete format. "

Initial attempt to use the drive

I found that it would not work in some USB ports on my computer, then after establishing a password, which was accepted, I subsequently found it would not accept that password. It seems to me that happened after I tried to update the drive; it started and then hung up forever on 1%. I eventually exited the drive only to to find thereafter it would not accept my password, the same one it formerly did. Its a piece of junk........don't buy it

Stay Away

Gone though many sizes of this company's type of all plastic contruction. All have failed. The case just snapped off one today, now I use the stubb as the key. Connectors wear out fast. Buy only ones with metal connectors.

Not bad...

I've purchased both this Flash Drive and the Lexar JumpDrive 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive. However, I prefer the latter simply because it is more sturdy than this model. If you decide to purchase this product and notice that you are unable to access your encrypted vault through EncryptStick Lite Application, Don't Panic!!! Simply search the web for: EncryptStick Lite Free Download (Always refer to the manufacturer's website for software manuals and downloads. DO NOT download software from unknown sources)

Cheap price, very cheap quality

This is a very cheap usb drive. It was the cheapest 128gb usb drive the store has. Day 1, the cheap quality of this usb was very clear to me. The cheap plastic broke with a simple movement of the thumb. My usb stick is wrapped in tape now. Still works but just CHEAP....

You really do get what you pay for

Bought two of these. Neither will connect to USB connections on any on my computers so speed averages around 10-15 and tops out at around 25. One of them stalls out when I try to move things on or off of it. And as others have said, really, really flimsy plastic exterior, also a pain to get it to stay extended and insert properly. Would never use this to back up important files, I really will only use this for watching files on my ps3 now.

Good for this price!

I have it for about a month, so far so good. Although famous brand, it’s made from cheap plastic.

Great price

Really good deal for a 128GB USB drive. It says max transfer speed it 60mb/s to write. I was getting 64mb/s off of a 7200rpm hard drive. I bet it could be faster if you were reading off a ssd.
