GREAT MONITOR !

I wish my macbook would support 2 of these... Great picture, love the advanced functionalities, works like a charm with a Macbook Pro retina Mid 2015, 4k/60hz using a thunderbolt to Displayport

Great monitor horrible base

Almost bought this monitor, however it has one major flaw. It wobbles like crazy. This said, it does have great picture quality, though if any movement is created to your desk (i.e. typing, movement of the mouse) picture a loose street light in a wind storm. I'm giving 2 stars becase there's no denying that the picture is great, but that's where it ends.

Very nice!

Bought this because of price. I needed a new monitor right away and, coincidentally, this was on sale. It offered size and resolution over my old my monitor, and the other's on sale at the time. I've had it for over a week now and can't fault it. I use it for every day use, no games.

Best Value 4K monitor

Pros: Picture quality is great, slim bezel, IPS panel, viewing angles, not much ghosting, 99% sRGB colour Cons: limited inputs, stand not as adjustable

A Beautiful Thing

I never liked or trusted LG company because of their restructuring and letting go of their old President for a new one, many years ago. Then I found out Grace Vanderwaal's Dad "Dave Vanderwaal" was V.P. of marketing for LG! So, I gave this monitor a shot after seeing all the positive reviews. The colors are vibrant right out of the box, no need to calibrate, as well as having more than ample connections both Display port 1.2 and HDMI 2.0. of which BOTH cables are included inside the box! Now add the price, when on sale, as well as Freesync, makes this monitor a perfect IPS 4K solution for all your editing or gaming needs! Truly, A Beautiful Thing!

Great monitor with my 2015 MacBook pro

Just bought this 2 days ago. Works like a charm. Plug and play. No complaints here. Strongly recommend.

Awesome Graphics and text

I wanted a screen as good as an iMac's Retina, to be able to see detailed graphics and clear text. While it is not as good as an iMac, it is a close runner up. Pleased and not much concerned about lag or sync because I am not a gamer. Please note I had to upgrade my three year old Nvidia GTX560 to GTX 1050 to be able to deal with the extra bandwith 4K monitors demand. I am using the supplied Display Port cable with no issues so far.

Excellent for design work, photography or gaming

I like the colour balance and quality of the response time of this monitor. The custom setup menus are a breeze to use. It is also good to have a headphone jack on the back. Excellent monitor backed by excellent BestBuy sales and service.

Probably the best 4k monitor in its price range.

This monitor is a great entry 4k monitor. I mostly use this monitor for gaming and from what I have noticed over a few weeks of usage is that there are very few negative things I have to say. 1) My monitor did come with very slight blacklight bleed on the edges which is completely bearable especially for the price point it is at. Blacklight bleed is also unit independent so one can be worse than another. 2) Quality of the materials used on the monitor are slightly on the cheap side but again for the price point it is no big issue. I feel that the positives definitely outweigh the negatives as the colours are amazing and accurate. I would definitely recommend this for anyone interested in 4k without breaking the bank.

Excellent monitor, IPS image quality great out of the box even before calibration

I've been using this monitor for a couple of days now and have it set up the way I like. The IPS display panel delivers perfectly crisp text, good colour saturation and is very easy to look at for long periods of use. The monitor stand is a bit lightweight and I've already ordered a VESA mounting bracket to get a more stable and clutter free solution for my home office. This monitor is replacing a 10 year old Dell WFP3007 30" panel that unfortunately no longer keeps up to modern connectivity requirements. I first bought a Samsung U28590D on sale, but returned it within a day and bought this monitor. There is no comparison, the Samsung monitor was unusable with text bleeding and low contrast.

Excellent

With a Macbook Pro retina 2015, using a Mini-displayport to Displayport 4k cable, this display is amazing. 4k videos on Youtube are stunning. But I only appreciated the monitor when I compared it to its Samsung equivalent. I was initially dissatisfied with the black levels on this monitor because of a bit of bleed-through of light on dark scenes. So I bought an equivalently-priced Samsung UE590 4k monitor for comparison, and discovered that not only did the Samsung monitor have about equivalent bleed-through on dark scenes, but colour reproduction on this LG is light-years better than the Samsung. Even black-level handling is better. Also, on this LG monitor I get full 60 fps through the Macbook, but on the Samsung I can only get 30 fps because its Displayport input has a compatibility issue with the mini-Displayport output of the Mac. The only things less than ideal: -Text doesn't get as dark as I like, unless I adjust the gamma significantly upward, which reduces the overall brightness. -On web sites and Office applications, white backgrounds seem kind of dirty or off-white. But on movies, the whites are crisp and clear. -Even on the brightest setting, it's not quite as bright as my Macbook Pro monitor. In typical indoor lighting it's more than enough. But in a sunny room I'd ideally like a notch brighter.

Not great on dark images

On dark scenes in movies and still images, you can see the backlight (actually edge-light) bleeding through the dark parts of the screen. So you never get a true black. Also, text is paler and harder to read than on better monitors, and light grey lines wash out. This is a common problem in edge-lit IPS monitors, but I was hoping for better. Also, on websites and MS Office applications, the white background looks distractingly off-white. By default it's a yellowish or brownish white, and with calibration I can get it to a greyish white, but at best it looks faded or a bit dirty under regular room lighting. The problem can be reduced by calibration of the display, but at the cost of losing detail in dark areas. Otherwise spectacular on bright and colourful images. If you're not picky about this stuff it's still a great monitor, but I wouldn't recommend it for professional use or if you have reduced vision.

Great Monitor for Video and photo workflow

Got 2 of these for my video and photo workflow. They replaced 2 HD monitors. I like the quality and picture of this model. The are very thin and edges are small, allowing to set them up side by side and use as one screen if necessary. Very pleased with the monitor and its design and elegant look. The only downside from my opinion is inability to recognize active input and select it. at least as an option. you have to go to settings and set active HDMI yourself each time if you want to change from previous default. Engine behind the 4K is a bit underpowered. My MacPro was not able to activate SuperQuality pictures option without dropping of refresh rate to 25fps. So, using standard quality, which is nice too. Colors are more saturated and vivid. Great contrast ratio. It is 4K monitor after all. For this price point - its a very good deal.

Definetily worth it , 5/5

Very good quality, 60hz and ips i tried looking from any angle and the image doesnt lose in quality , it comes with a dp and hdmi cable, the only thing is the stand that looks kinda cheap, but i had a support arm so i wont take a star because of that...

Great color, work with PS4 Pro, no HDR though.

Great color accuracy and the anti-glare didn't bother me that much. Works with PS4 Pro but says no HDR support which is not a surprise.(already did home work.) Input lag is with in acceptable range and only slightly slower than my other TN 4K monitor. The slight disappointment comes from about half cm black boarder surrounding the actual display panel.

I love it! Very nice.

I'm really liking this monitor overall. The colours on it are really nice and you can switch to game mode for a faster response time. I've been using it along with the new Playstation 4 Pro at 4k 60hz resolution. It also has HDCP 2.2 so it's the ability to play Netflix 4k though something like the PS4 Pro or Roku 4(You have to set ULTRA HD Deep Color setting set to ON for 60hz). I've also tested it with my macbook pro and it's nicer then my Asus 4k I would say. Also note it does not come with built in speaker which is not a big deal at all.

Phenomenal monitor

I had been heavily debating between a high-end 8-bit TN or IPS monitor as I do both graphic work and gaming. In terms of IPS, I was also torn between a 27" 16:9 or 29" curved ultrawide, but ultimately went for the 16:9 as glow/bleed is more of an issue on ultrawide and I need to view straight lines for design work. I'm coming from a 23" Samsung S23A700D 120hz TN panel which has served me well, but I'm doing increasingly more graphic design contract work so I needed something more accurate. For the last few month I've been working right off my Dell XPS 15 which has a great IPS panel monitor. The 'IPS glow' of the desktop monitors worried me so I went in store to see this monitor in person as I've always owned TN panels before. I was pleased that it wasn't as bad as some of the pictures in forums showed in person. I was able to price match so the price was great. I've had the monitor for about half a week and I'm extremely pleased. Picture - The colour is phenomenal, nothing really else to say here. The preset game modes mess with colour/contrast too much, so I made a custom game profile that basically replicates the settings of the sRGB preset but with the fastest refresh rate setting. There is no noticeable input lag or ghosting when playing even fast-paced FPS games like overwatch. Just note that playing games in 1080p on a 4k monitor will look worse than on a 1080p monitor, so make sure you have a good graphics card. I have a GTX 680 which is surprisingly able to play Arma, overwatch and wargame at 4k, but I'll be picking up a GTX 1060 or 1070 in the next week or so for BF1. As for watching movies, it's good, but definitely not where IPS monitors shine. There is a bit of glow in the bottom left corner, but not close to what I'd call defective, and I can notice it only when watching a dark scene in a movie. Watching movies is probably what I do the least on my computer, so it's not a problem for me, but if this is extremely important to you then you might want to consider other options. Design/Build - The stand does lack adjustability, with only tilt, but this is not really an issue for me. I couldn't justify the extra 200-300 that the 27UD88 costs just to get an adjustable stand and some USB ports. The bezel design is extremely modern and minimalistic, and really looks great beside my XPS. The joystick menu is easy to use and i haven't found myself wanting buttons instead. I'm really enjoying the 27" size Conclusion - If you're a tech enthusiast who wants a monitor that is great in almost all situations, then I highly recommend the LG 27UD68. LG was really able to compensate for the typical weaknesses of IPS panels and I couldn't be more pleased with my choice.

Hooked it up to my two laptops. In LOVE!

I love this monitor - I have it hooked up to my Surface Pro 4 (DisplayPort) and to my MacBook Pro (HDMI) and it works like a dream. I've got more room on my screen than I thought was possible and both laptops re powerful enough to take advantage of the highest res which is great. You would think that finding a matte screen (non-glossy) with an IPS panel and 4k resolution would be easy but it isn't. This LG is a great price and meets all the criteria. I did disable the the built in audio (rather useless feature in my opinion) but maybe you'll leave it on. Try this one. You'll love it.

Amazing Colour in a LightWeight Monitor

Bought this monitor to serve triple-duty as a computer monitor; security camera screen; and, TV. It was incredibly easy to set up, the small joystick used to control everything is a pleasure to use and very accessible. Once I had everything connected it works like a charm. My only concern, in retrospect is that I wish it had more input options. There are only 2 HDMI inputs, and in this day and age, that is not enough. There is however also a Digital Input input, and I was able to utilize that to get all three systems connected simultaneously.

Crisp picture/horrible stand

Purchased this monitor about a week ago, quite happy with the picture bright and clean. Only problem being the stand it comes with is super shaky and had little to no adjustment, surprised LG wouldn't package a more premium stand to go along with the premium screen. (For some reason the site wouldn't let me rate higher than a one star, with that said I'd rate it 4.5/5)

So far so great!

So far I've really loved this monitor. The image is so amazing. I always loved the idea of a 4K display (or even the 5K mac display) but I hate glossy displays. This matte display allows for great resolving of darks and lights. I was able to calibrate it to 100% of sRGB (and for me all my editing finds its way online so that is key). Awesome product. I do hold out on a final feeling though as I had an LG tv that had an issue a few months in. They replaced a board in it and it's been great ever since but still... LG, who knows.

Very good monitor

Has all the features I was looking for and a decent price. No build flaws at all. Colors are good. No bad pixels. Bright Runs ok with gtx960 (will be even better with the 1070) It even works with my Surface Pro as a second screen. I would change only two things - eliminate the white standby light - provide us with an adjustable stand

back light bleeds

So, LG has a panel, it's IPS, the price is right. The only thing they screwed up - backlight. Right bottom corner is so shiny well lit, it annoys me even at day time!

Great! But...

I returned this monitor twice due to backlight bleed (yellowish glow in the edges or sides) so I've seen a total of 3 of these monitors with said problem. Granted though it only appears on darker pretty much black images. Other than that I think the monitor is great,I don't understand the wobbly stand complaint since it does not wobble at all for me. The design is great, really like the white back since it matches my PC. Overall it's an amazing monitor for the price just beware of backlight bleed.

Wicked

Bought two of these bad boys last week on sale and they are definitely worth the money. Great size, incredible look (stand, razor-thin bezel), and the picture and colours are spot on. The joystick serving as both the power button and menu controller is a phenomenal idea - much better than 12 buttons on the front/bottom/backside of the monitor. Yes, the stands are a little wobbly, but unless you're doing an earthquake test every time you sit down at your desk, it should suffice. No reason to compare it to a HAS - you know you're not buying this thing for the stand. Besides, if it matters that much, grab a monitor stand and use the VESA mount, or just buy two so they can stabilize one another! Comes with both an HDMI and DP cables, so unless you're running an older vid card like myself with DVI, you should be good to go. I'll be upgrading soon so I can experience the full 4K capability of these monitors (yeah, I'm judging these things on 1080p and they're still ridiculously good). Hands down, best purchase I've made when it comes to monitors - very happy and I'll recommend this product to anyone.

On an older MacBook Pro

Plugged into a late 2013 13" retina MacBook Pro, it runs at 30Hz via HDMI. With a little research online I got it running at 51Hz via a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable. The monitor comes with a DisplayPort cable so purchasing a MDP to DP adapter should work too. I leave the monitor at a scaled 1920 x 1080 HiDPI for normal browsing and only switch to full 3840 x 2160 when I need the real estate for video editing, otherwise you'll be squinting to read text. Control joystick at the bottom makes menu diving a breeze and colours are amazing out of the box. You might want to dial down the brightness a little. Surprisingly less wobble than my previous 24" monitor and its stand and thin bezel design are aesthetically pleasing. Now I need to get a better Windows PC for 4K gaming.

Beautiful Display, Great Size

Picked up one of these to use with my 2015 15" MacBoook pro Retina. I didn't want to shell out the big bucks for an apple display that limited the resolution. I'm running the display at 3200x1800 using the supplied HDMI cable. Allowing tons of Desktop space and very sharp text in excel and word. The PBP, Picture beside Picture is also a nice feature as i have a tower PC hooked up via Display port. Overall a great Display, thinking of getting a 2nd one just for the PC. This monitor has replaced the need to run Dual Monitors.

Best value at this price

This is the only 4k monitor with free-sync at this price point (several hundred dollars less than the equivalent g sync monitor), and it comes in a premium package, with nice bezels and stand and basically it looks great on the desk. Only problem is I ordered online and I can't easily return to get one without the yellow blacklight bleed in the bottom left corner. All high end monitors have this problem, however, but it is annoying. No dead pixels, and the colour is outstanding if you set it to the pre-calibrated sRGB mode (make sure you do that!).
