Very decent for the price

I have been using this router for the past week while I wait for my Asus router to arrive so I picked up whatever I thought would be decent performing while also being cost effective. So I picked up the E2700 because it offers simultaneous dual band functionality and gigabit ports for a great price, and I think it performs very well for the money. Not sure what some others are talking about but I found this router EXTREMELY easy to setup and install. The whole process took about 5 mins. The mobile Smart Wifi app is also really useful and easy to use if you need to make changes to the network settings. The performance is very good for a router in this price range. It allowed my maximum download/upload speeds to be achieved (30 Mbps down/5 Mbps up) without any issues. Very stable connections so far, haven't dropped once yet. My only issue so far is that the range could be a bit better and the lack of USB ports. I have a medium sized home and I get a strong signal everywhere, except when going outside. But that's to be expected with a most sub $100 wireless routers. I get roughly 2/3rds of my available bandwidth which is still very good, especially for a router in this price range. However the only reason I say it's an issue is because my ASUS router had exceptional range even outdoors and I'm now spoiled by that. But even if this router is used in a much larger home, I cannot see the indoor range being a problem. The lack of USB means no network storage or wireless printer options. On the other hand, this router offers pretty much every other feature commonly found on more expensive routers ($100+). This includes true dual band, 4 Gigabit LAN ports, bandwidth prioritization for media, device allowance/blockage, guest access, every possible security feature, and even remote access to settings via smartphones. All while being super easy to use. Now I'll make it clear that I do not work for, or push Linksys towards people, as my routers of choice come from another company. But this was a great substitute and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a feature packed, easy to use, cost effective, and most importantly, reliable wireless router. It may not have EVERY feature such as the USB ports or the highest possible speeds like on the new AC routers, but for this price, it's pretty darn amazing.

Do Not Buy!

Find another router....any router but this one. My 3 year old router works better then this one. Had it for 8 weeks and rebooted 3 times before it finally packed it in. If you happen to get power outages in your area do not buy this, it gets really finicky.

This router is good value

I bought this router to replace my D-Link WBR-1310 G router. Speed is much quicker and range is better. The install was very easy and quick via the CD. Install was done via wireless no need to plug into the router.

EA2700

Love the router's C.D. set up wizard you could just use the web bower. One thing I don't like is how you enter the guest password thought the web browser and it doesn't show a lock symbol but it is locked so I just disabled.

Weak signal, would not even install!

I thought this could replace my dead Linksys WRT300N but that was a bad idea. Great "easy setup" feature ended up that I could get it to work at all. I ran the setup program from 3 different computers, wireless or wired, and the program could never see the router. No IP address to talk to the unit directly. My PCs were seeing the wireless signal but even less than 30 feet away, the signal was too weak to be usable anyways. My neighbours' signal is stronger. It's going back to the store today.

Linksys EA2700 - Worst wireless signal ever

Rounter's wireless signal is very weak. Its' signal strenght drop quite a lot when I'm in the next room. It drop to down to 2 bars when I'm downstair. I can't stream movies wirelessly to my PS3 because the signal are up and down constantly. The worst router I've ever owned.
