The Logitech Performance Mouse MX works on virtually any surface, so you can work and play just about everywhere you go with ease. More Information

  • Logitech Darkfield Laser Tracking gives you precise cursor control on virtually any surface, even glass tables (4mm minimum thickness) where optical and standard laser mice often fail
  • The tiny Logitech Unifying receiver stays with your laptop, so there's no need to unplug it when you move around; you can even add compatible wireless mice and keyboards to the same receiver
  • The flexible recharging system uses a micro USB cable to recharge the mouse through your computer or a standard wall outlet - even while you're using it
  • Hyper-fast scrolling lets you fly through long documents and web pages with a single spin of a nearly frictionless scroll wheel
  • A sculpted, right-handed shape guides your hand to a naturally poised position and places integrated controls for web browsing, application switching and photo viewing all within your thumb's reach

I bought this for work when it was on sale. I'm very satisfied with the overall performance and accuracy of the scroll.

UNRELIABLE - POOR QUALITY

Purchased two of them. Ergonomics are good but both became flakey. Mouse button operation became intermittent and then stop functioning completely. Usually Logitech products are good quality but NOT this one. HIGHLY OVERPRICED for the quality.

Scrol / Zoom is buggy

I have run into occaisional issues with the scrolling unable to stop. It will zoom/scroll way too far at just a touch, then when you try to reverse the wheel, it goes too far in the opposite direction, making it unusable for a time. There are forum posts about this issue on the Logitech website from 2013, if not earlier, and yet I buy this mouse in 2015 and they have not fixed this issue, which I assume is a bug in their software or driver. I'm very disappointed that with an [price] mouse I have to read forum posts and fiddle with the application settings to try and fix this. It's a mouse. It shouldn't be complicated, but the Logitech software for it is buggy.

Strong Wireless Mouse

I purchased this mouse a couple weeks ago for work purposes. The mouse has a built-in battery and a usb cord for charging purposes. The battery life is decent, but nothing compared to older MX mice that use disposable batteries. The built-in battery leads to some concerns about longevity. From a performance perspective, the mouse does what one would expect from a premium Logitech mouse. The buttons are all responsible and work well, it is comfortable to grip (but a big mouse, so perhaps less so if you have small hands) and it is enjoyable to use. The biggest design flaw in the mouse is that the "back" and "forward" buttons, which are two of the great innovations in Logitech's mice line, are located directly above the "Zoom" button, and recessed diagonally away from where your thumb rests. It makes the operation of these buttons somewhat inefficient. I gave the mouse three stars for value, because while I purchased the product at a price-matched [Price], I then had to further price match to $59.99 on promotion. At the regular price (which at the time I bought it, was [Price]), I would say you're getting what you paid for, but not an amazing deal. It's a good -- not great -- mouse at that price point, hence the three stars for value.

Great mouse when it works.

I got this mouse and loved it. I bought about 5 of them and then the left buttons started to die. The first one died and was within the warranty so I got a new one. More stared to die so I bought 5 Omron switched on ebay to fix them myself. I'm now out of switches. Obviously my experience indicates a crappy design or I have a 20 lb index finger. Not happy at all with this mouse.

I like it...

This is my second time around purchasing this mouse, the first one got a bit glitchy after 2 years of abuse. Very ergonomic, can't complain about the battery. I'l charge it every 4 days or so and I use it non-stop for about 8 hours a day as a designer. Obviously, battery life will suffer with time. Overall, a pretty great mouse.

Works just fine. Feels kind of expensive for what it is. Used it for at least 40 hours, have not needed to recharge it yet

poor battery life

Battery life is very poor. With heavy use, battery lasts 2 days. It never lasted 7 days for me.

Love this!

I've had this mouse for 3 years. It's great. It's helped with my carpal tunnel so much. When I changed jobs, they sent me a wireless mouse and after a few weeks my hand and shoulder started to hurt. I plugged in this mouse and within a day the pain started to go away. It is slightly heavy but I find I don't have to move around as much as my other mouse. And it is expensive but if you get it when on sale, it's definitely a good buy!

Expensive Paper Weight

I bought this mouse to replace my Logitech M705, which I really had no issues with, just wanted to try something new. Like others have mentioned - the battery life on this mouse is poor at best. The idea of a wireless mouse is to eliminate cords and clutter on the desk - but I found that I have to leave the charging cord out the entire time, because every two or three days I need to re-charge it. I've tried different batteries with higher a mAh than the one it comes with, but the difference was insignificant. Ergonomics is subjective - someone with small hands might find the back/forward buttons placement on it poor, as you have to reach to press them (such as myself), but perhaps someone with larger hands might find it more accessible. Overall, I really was not happy with it, and have gone back to my M705, which I've have for over 2 years now, and don't think I've replaced the battery on it yet.

Not worth the money!!!

This Mouse isn't worth the money, even the sale price I paid. The Battery doesn't last long, 4 to 5 days at best. my old mouse lasts 3 to 4 months. The software, is useless, and the recommended fix for the software issues from Logitech is to uninstall it. I bought this mouse to replace an older Microsoft wireless intellimouse. I bought it mainly for the size, I find most mice too small and after a while my hand starts to cramp up and get sore. I would not recommend this mouse to anyone, especially at the full price. I am not likely to buy another Logitech mouse or any other Logitech product in the future, as the quality is not where it should be for this company, and their customer service is some of the worst I've ever dealt with.

Best mouse I've ever owned

I've been a PC gamer for the last 20 years, and I worked in the industry as a computer consultant for 10 years. I'm currently a research scientist. This mouse has the best performance of any brand I've ever used. I've used to draw professional geological maps, to play games such as World of Warcraft, Civilizations, World of Tanks, AOE, Diablo, and a bunch of other high performance games that really require an excellent mouse that does not drift or move sporadically. This mouse has always been responsive and has always been on target. I've owned it since September 2012 and it's been one of my best computer component purchases to date. In addition, since it's a Logitech mouse, it comes with a unifying bluetooth receiver. A unifying receiver is interchangeable between Logitech components and a single receiver can have up to 6 components running off of it. This is great because I have 2 keyboards and 2 mice that I use on two different computers, interchangeably. I do this because I have a work keyboard, gaming keyboard, work mouse, and gaming mouse. I use the Performance MX as my gaming mouse, and my work mouse keeps to my laptop bag. My buddy bought a Microsoft keybaord and mouse, despite my suggestion to him to buy Logitech. After only 4 months his Microsoft bluetooth receiver shorted and no longer works. Because he only received 1 receiver for both components, he has no extras. In addition, Microsoft receivers are NOT interchangeable meaning that his new keyboard and mouse are worthless. He now has to spend time and money dealing with Microsoft to return these items to get a new one.

Amazing Mouse!

I've had this mouse since Boxing Day of 2012, and it has been the best mouse I have ever used! It is big so it fits every hand, and I do use it a lot, mainly for games, and the hours I use it it never gets uncomfortable. The back and forth tab mouse buttons are the most helpful thing I have ever had! The price is steep, but when you get it its worth every penny! Also, very durable. I have dropped it countless times and its still perfectly fine. A must get!

Great mouse

I've been using this model mouse for quite a while and it has served me well. It reacts well to my needs and the multiple buttons are easily programmable for each program I use. Very useful feature. I highly recommend it.

Excellent Mouse!

I use this with my MacBook Pro and it works seamlessly. I was in the market for a mouse I can use with blogging and mild Photoshop work and decided to go with a high performance, ergonomic mouse. The price may be a little steep, but I think it's totally worth it. I know it'll last a long time! Battery life is great, features are great, and you can actually use it on virtually any surface (I've tried it on my lap, my bed, on my dog's back, etc.). Amazing mouse.

Good mouse

Other than being a bit pricey, it is a great mouse. I had a trouble with scroll button being too sensitive when I was using a CAD program just like the comment that was posted. But I was able to fix that by pressing the button below the scroll button. It was just another feature to turn on and off the sensitivity of the scroll button. There has been no issue with battery life since you can turn the mouse on and off. When you don't use it, simply turn it off to extend the usage. It's worth the investment!

Great mouse

This is a great mouse. Lots of buttons to work efficiently. Mine is starting to die though (it's used 16-20 hours a day). Won't hesitate to buy another exactly the same.

Has to be better out there

Although this moues feel great and tracks well it has too many negatives to gain my recommendation. Battery life is about 7 hours or less so the wire is connected so often to charge this i may as well have bought a wired mouse. I had a Logitech trackball for almost a year and never changed the battery yet this mouse needs to be plugged in at least every day. Trackball problem was all ergonomics as it kept putting my pinky finger to sleep as it was always wedged against the table! Scroll wheel is WAY too sensitive. Using it in a CAD environment for zooming it will actually move by itself at times without being touched. The search continues for a good wireless mouse for me.

Great For Mac

I bought this mouse for the sole purpose to use with SolidWorks and other design programs. The programable buttons come in quite handy (pun intended), and I prefer using them instead of hotkeys. The build quality is superb and the scroll wheel is brilliant. The mouse is so great I find it's now replaced my multitouch trackpad on my Mac. I've programmed the buttons to open Mission Control and Launchpad and it's a seamless experience. Battery life is great. Strongly recommend this mouse

Great mouse

A very good mouse. I am an architect and it has made operating my CAD software much smoother. A joy to use. It is very customizable. Different applications can be assigned different settings and sit switches automatically once the application is in use. I just got it, so am in the "Honeymoon" phase. So far; excellent.

Quite Amazing!

I bought this mouse about 6 months ago and since then I have fallen in love with it. Unfortunately, when I bought this mouse, it was priced at $120.00, but I still don't regret getting this mouse. My hand never feels tired using this mouse. I can surf or game for hours without feeling the slightest bit of tiredness in my hand. The only con I have is that, to charge it, you need to plug in a cable to the front of the mouse and therefore hindering your ability to move the mouse easily. It's a bit of a stretch, so I didn't think that one small point means 4 stars instead of 5. All in all, great mouse, wouldn't have it any other way.

Logitech MX Excellent!

im a gamer guy and just bought this mouse after my other decided to die on me after a good couple years. This mouse had my eyes tearing up just from picking it out of the box. not only does it fit in your hand like a glove, you can use it RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX, the battery does onyl last 5-7 days ( i play 10+ hours a day) but isnt a COn for me on thsi mouse, it comes with a charging cord you can plug in WHILE you are using it. for me thats an Amazing feature. The adapter that holds the receiver for the mouse comes with a Velcro strap, i strap the receiver cord and the Mouse charging together, so that they are both handy and right beside my mouse. I i also LOVED the fact this mouse comes with a wall charger, just incase your USB ports are maxed. PROs :1. for a gamer, ALL, but ONE mouse button is programmable ( it comes with an ALT+ tab button on the mouse) 2. this mouse has a alt + tab button, it seems frivilous but until you have it, you will never go back. 3. it comes with two new Logitech Technologies, Darkflight Laser Tracking which allows you to track on ANY surface, and it comes with Logitechs Unify Receiver, so if you have Multiple Logitech products that use Unify, you only need ONE receiver.4. with the Disc program that the mouse comes with you can change and customize the buttons at your own will. 5. it moovs so seemlessly over my mousepad that i actually had to HALF my mouse Sensitivity in games. Con: 1. like most people list, the Battery doesnt last long, you can try to replace it with a more expensive one but they give you a really high quality battery and wasting your money on any others is just a waste of your time/money, i believe the reason why it doesnt last long is because they only made the mouse with one battery slot. it isnt a MAJOR con its just you WILL notice it. but as i said before if you just strap the 2 cords together with the velcro strap, the Charging cord is Right at hand ready to plug in at ANY time. This mouse is by far THE BEST gaming mouse i have ever had and i am a hardcore gamer. CON:1.

Not worth the price. Not comfortable for my hand. The centre wheel doesn't woth once pressed. You have to press it in a specific angle to make it work. Works on all surfaces.

So So

I have used this mouse for about a half a year now. It tracks well, and is able to do the graphics tasks with no skipping or mis tracking. However, like another reviewer here, I experienced trouble with the batteries lasting. I purchased high quality of all kinds, recharge and the best most powerful batteries available. Only a few days even on the most expensive batteries. But I like the mouse alot so I just use it as a corded mouse and leave the charger wire plugged in. Works well, but after 2 months the rechargable batteries conked out. Still, it is the best "corded" mouse I ever used. I now going to try the Go Anywhere mouse with the same tracking.... the less expensive smaller version that uses 2 AA batteries instead of just one. To be honest, this has been quite a disappointment. It pays not to listen to those who have used a product only briefly. On the other hand I am extremely pleased with my Logitech illuminated Keyboard. (corded and stable and GREAT performance)

A pleasure to use

Its very difficult to follow the posting guidelines as a review by nature must include product comparison less its value as a review is questionable. However this being said, having used many products from this and other manufactures this mouse wins hands down. I rather like the ability to tether the mouse to the usb port to charge while being used. I and I suspect like most look at the mouse power warning with little concern until it dies at the time you need it most. So its great to simply plug in the mini usb cable and continue working away with little interruption. The mouse feels "right" in the hand which is very important as I don't want to have to consider operating the mouse to operate the pointer. The travel kit is very nice and I was very impressed with some of the fine details that they offered such as velcro cable manager and packs nicely away and for those that frequent the red carpet lounge or Maple leaf lounge understand the sheer importance to have everything organized as a frequent flyer. The biggest plus is the dark field laser technology. I can operate this mouse on just about any surface... It doesn't track in the air.. but I have the Logitech Air mouse for that...

Mouse

Bought this mouse a week ago. Used it straight out of the box without charging. I still haven't had to charge it. I also enjoyed the little carrying case for all the cords it comes with, and the button under the thumb. I am very satisfied with this product.

Wish I had not lost the reciept.

I was looking forward to the zoom button feature on this mouse. I brought it home and went to charge it expecting a charging dock like the previous version. It wasn't there. When I attempted to plug in the teeny plug into the socket it wouldn't fit. I had some identical batteries so I used one of them. Mouse worked fine, but battery life is only about 7 hrs. Also I have to reset the scroll wheel functions frequently. If I hadn't lost the receipt I would have returned it the day I bought it.

Well worth the price!!!!

Absolutly the supreme mouse on the market .This one is going to be hard to beat,Sturdy construction,Ergonomics very well studied as well as options on this beast,As for performance in wich I gave it a 4/10,the reason is the recharchable kit that come with it.;I use lithium batteries at this moment but mouse keeps eating them up evert 3 to 4 days.Absolutly a must for M.D.'s and other health care prof.who view X-Rays

The best mouse I've ever used.

This is the most expensive mouse for a reason. It's the most comfortable, highest performance, longest life mouse I've ever had the pleasure of using. When I use my old mouse on shiny surfaces (like a glossy magazine or laminate table top) it would skip and lose it's tracking. This mouse never has that problem. Too many features to list. The price tag is the only concern, but if you can afford it and you use a mouse for extended periods of time, this is the mouse for you.
