Great keyboard with excellent feel to the keys and the beauty of wireless connectivity! However although it lasted 5 years the special rechargeable battery has now failed and is not replaceable! So instead of simply replacing the battery and carrying on I now have to discard a perfectly good in every other way keyboard and purchase another. I love Logitech keyboards will not be purchasing this type again.
However Logitech built in PLANNED Obsolescence. meaning this keyboard uses a special NON replaceable rechargeable battery with a max of 200-300 charge life. So that after 2-3 years it fails making keyboard useless and disposable. While it is possible to get this battery online. Logitech has made the battery access door one way so once installed, you will damage the keyboard to change it. Great keyboard, SOLAR is NOT Green if its disposable
I use one about 3 years by now on my job with no complaints AT ALL. Now decided to buy two more for home use since I have never had anything better. Very smooth, quiet, stylish, thin, reliable. Just regular office light is enough to have no worries about charging.
Surely, the price is not cheap, but... for a piece of keyboard art it is probably ok :)
I love this keyboard! No more worries over dead batteries or USB power chargers. Any ambient light seems to be enough to keep this solar powered keyboard charged!
The status key gives you instant feedback on the charging status of your keyboard. If you download the solar app, you can view a dynamic display of your charge status and the strength of the current light source (measured in lux).
The keyboard is wireless, connecting to your computer using a unifying receiver that allows you to connect up to six devices through a single USB port.
A for the keyboard itself, it's very thin and light weight. The key spacing and travel make for a great typing experience. The keys are also relatively "quiet" and not mushy.
Two small legs on the bottom rear of the keyboard appear to be too small but they are remarkably up to the task of providing a comfortable angle to the keyboard.
I have used this keyboard exclusively and have yet to find one that compares - at least for the type of work I do.
A phenomenal keyboard that offers great value for the price.. I'm very pleased and highly recommend this to anyone doing serious keyboarding. Over the course of their day as I do.
I have used this keyboard for a number of years and when my assistant's keyboard went on the blink I replaced it with a Logitech Solar Wireless as well. Not only is it super easy to use thanks to its logic design, but it also does away with wires and batteries. I purchased it from Best Buy because it was less expensive than at the competition. Free delivery as well...
I like it. I don't need plug in batter. If price becomes lower, it will be more than excellent.
I had to return the first one I received as the backspace key squeaked!! The keyboard is wonderful to type on and the "clicking" is very quiet but the squeaking key was really annoying. Got the replacement and it is perfect.
Best our there
Very light weight keyboard, has great feel, like the solar aspect and have found I get a good charge, even when weather is overcast. Only had for about two weeks, but so far, seems to be a great keyboard. Feel the price might be a little high, but not disappointed.
Love this keyboard. I am very, very picky about the feel of a keyboard and that was my primary reason for selecting this one. The solar feature is also really great. It has a little app that allows you to see how much light the keyboard is getting and the battery level. You can turn the keyboard off to save energy but it hasn't been an issue for me. And I really like the feel of the keys. Reasonable price for what you are getting. My husband keeps eyeing mine so we might just get another one.
If you're thinking about buying a wireless keyboard at all, buy this one. It requires no batteries (powered entirely by two photovoltaic panels) and works perfectly well in dimly lit rooms.
The form factor is slick and I like it, and it retains the layout of a standard keyboard (keys are not squished together or condensed into tight groups). It has two really small legs for inclination and the keys are contoured slightly for a bit of a nicer feel.
What I really like about this keyboard is that it has an On/Off switch, so cleaning it is really easy (some wireless MS-brand keyboards do not have this switch).
Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase!
I had the MK320 for years and I went to this one, it was well worth the upgrade!! The solar feature was the selling point for me. Theirs a feature that indicates whether or not your keyboard is getting a sufficient charge. So if you're not next to sunlight or a lot of light, just leave the keyboard near the light while you're away and you'll have nothing to worry about (I haven't gotten to that point yet, but it's a thing to keep in mind).
I've had mine for 3 years and no complaints! Best reason to buy was that it was solar and wireless. The keys are very quiet especially if you work with colleagues that are sensitive to noise. All in all - a great product. Just a bit pricy but well worth it.
Very thin, light and easy to use. Seems solid and well built.
Very thin, extremely comfortable to type, and quiet. The keyboard is full width, with number pad, and arrow keys properly spaced so they are easy to find without looking. My one complaint is that the flip out legs that prop up the keyboard to create an angle are a little flimsy and I've had one break in the past. Its not a deal breaker, but it is a blemish on an otherwise superb product.
Hi, I've been a computer consultant for 27 years & this is by far the thinnest, most comfortable keyboard I have ever used.
I love the feel of the keys, how quiet & responsive they are and not having to replace or charge batteries is a huge bonus!
It even has 128-bit encryption so keystrokes remain private & hack proof.
I think this is the best keyboard I've owned. Price is a bit too high for a keyboard but I think its well worth it.
Keyboard is very nice. It works very well and is quiet. The solar panel works great and the I like the thiness of it. Definately recommend it. The only isue I had was I had to order it in because they didn't have any stock in Winnipeg at all.
Great keyboard for work.
About the product:
I wanted a chiclet keyboard for many reasons: low profile design, super quiet, very fast for typing, zero finger strain for long typing sessions. Only trouble is, most chiclets (now) are wireless, a technology I generally avoid for kb's and mice. I was worried that the solar feature would be unreliable, but I took a chance because it's Logitech and they've never disappointed me. I'm glad I did.
This is by far the best keyboard I've used in years - a full size keyboard with a very small footprint; quiet keys with a really nice feel; very comfortable for typing; eco-conscious design; amazing performance; uber-easy install. The finish does show fingerprints, but a cloth is provided, and because I kinda like polishing my toys, I don't mind this. (For gaming, it's not sophisticated, but it's fast, reliable and doesn't drown me out on comms, and those things matter to me more.)
I've been using this kb for a month and am now absolutely certain why over-priced, ergonomic kb's (supposedly for typists) caused more problems for me than they solved. They lock your hands and arms into a strange (supposedly ideal) position, restricting natural movement. I've found that the less effort required by your fingers, and the less distance they have to cross to get to the next key, and the more freedom of movement allowed for your hands, the better it is for your body and the faster you'll perform. (Some people prefer a wrist rest, but I've never liked them.) Chiclets 4 life.
About the service:
I'd been shopping for a new keyboard for many months before I found this one at Best Buy. As with most electronics stores, knowledge, expertise and customer service has declined considerably in the last ten years. It took me 20 minutes to get any assistance in store - apparently I had to wait for "the keyboard specialist" who knew nothing about keyboards, so that he could tell me they were out of stock. He could order it in, but he failed to inform me that the sale was ending that day, so I went home to think about it. Before midnight, I saw on their website that the sale was ending, so I ordered it immediately. Consider yourselves lucky, Best Buy; if I'd missed your sale, I would've found another elsewhere. My new routine: research online, go see it in store, order it online, wherever it's cheapest.
no batteries, no wires.......solar panels work very well.
Computer recognized the keyboard quickly.
very ergonomic. i use this keyboard 7 hours a day, 5 days a week. I've had good keyboards and bad keyboards. This one feels like a good keyboard. My fingers find the keys easily.
Only complaint is the hibernate button is beside the volume up button. I've accidentally shut down my computer several times. opps.
Great keyboard. Had it for over a year. No issues whatsoever, always fully charged. Had to buy a 2nd one b/c the 1st one did not survive a tea bath.
Bought one for home, loved it so much I bought one for the office and recently I had to replace my home one (did not survive a wine bath). Always charged and ready to go. Nice quiet keyboard. Sleek design. Get away from your clacky keyboard and try this one, you won't be disappointed. No Caps/Lock light but that is about the only negative remark I can think of.
I have had this keyboard for over two years and absolutely love it. Bought it for my work and am so used to it now, I am buying a second one for my home office now. Don't want to use a different keyboeard.
I got this for about 2 weeks now and I have to say I'm in love with it.... it's light and thin for traveling and with the solar panel its really Eco friendly. Since I'm a student its a great feature to have since I can save a few bucks on battery. The only down fallIi have to say is the fact it doesn't have any indication lights when Caps is on.
I would have to say that I got my money's worth, even though it is a bit pricey. The software must be downloaded, but works fine. The "Unifying" takes a while to figure out, but it works well. The "Solar App" works at a touch of the button on the keyboard-- it's really cool. Overall, so far, I definitely would recommend you to spend the extra money and buy this keyboard!
THe best ever! I have had a lot of keyboards. This is the best one yet! I have one for my Mac and my wife uses one for her PC. She had another Logitech keyboard, after using the one on my Mac she had to have one for herself. Only fault is the price.. However you do get what you pay for.
Best keyboard every. Keys click with ease with minimal noise. Best part is that it doesn't require batteries.
This keyboard is brilliant! The keys are soft to the fingertips making this every writer or student's dream keyboard. It has a very low profile and looks sleek on just about any desk. The solar panels do not make the keyboard look ugly. The keyboard looks much like that of a keyboard from a Mac computer; very modern. The only flaw is that there is no indicators to tell you if Caps lock, num lock or scroll lock are on, but that is not a very big deal.
