Not like the windows RT tablet

I had my first tab as my Surface RT about 3 or 4 years back, I bought that on sale about [price] canadian I guess. Now I like to upgrade again for windows so I wanted to buy one for my mother. It was working good for a while and after about 2 weeks my mom call me about this tab asking how to do that like that, now she is talking more about this tab than our family. Not such good. Getting very slow, and screen freezes in the middle of Skype calling. Broth that today to best buy. They said the one chip is [price] dollar to fix that problem because I don't have the extended warranty. Now it is just sitting in my basement. It is not worth to buy. If you buy buy with warranty to fix any single chip.

I've had issues with this product from the beginning and am ready to return it. The main issues is that It does not charge properly and freezes regularly. i've taken it in to the store about the problem and was told to not let the charge diminish. I keep it plugged in and it still goes "dark", freezes, doesn't then close properly, and doesn't recharge. I'm afraid I would not recommend this produce.

charging issues

Not sure if this is a common issue - but charging this product is a problem. First I am using this now and have it plugged in and charging using the MS charger that shipped with the device. Although connected and it says connected it's still discharging - down to 7%. So I'm assuming that it is using more power than it can absorb. If I shut down and then charge - it will charge - but painfully slow.

better than i thought

I bought this product on Boxing day for the purpose of trying a new product at an attractive price. I used it mainly for internet browsing and watching movies. It works quite good. At the very beginning, I had many doubts about its functioning; And now, I kind of like it. The technique support and customer services are also quite friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend this product and the purchase from Best Buy. Jian Jan 29, 2016

Surface 3

Like the speed. Having trouble with the Facebook app... will not scroll to the end of a picture album. Also, sound on YouTube is crackling.

Perfect for Purpose

Bought as present for my wife. She loves it. Mainly used for net access and playing solitaire type games so not very challenging performance wise but it is very responsive with very little lag.

Perfect for Retirement

I worked in the computer industry for 44. I retired recently. This tablet exceeds all my demands in retirement that include: budgeting(Excel), surfing the net(Edge), e-mail (Outlook), appointments (Outlook Calendar), video conferencing with grandchildren (Skype), and correspondence(Word). This is not a gaming computer (need a more powerful CPU). I do play solitaire, and Sudoku. It works very well for mobile computing. It is a companion when I travel. Because it runs many of the applications that I used while working, the transition to the Surface 3 was easy. A very effective tool, but not a toy.

Great product!

While I agree the price for this surface should be lower this is a great little machine. It may not have all the bells and whistles the pro versions have but its quick and does what it's supposed to. Wait till it goes on sale again and grab it you will not be dissapointed!

Perfect Companion

If you like to travel and don't want the hassle of getting check at the airport if you have a laptop with you, then this is perfect for you. Its a TABLET with almost 100% functionality of a real Laptop. It is small and light enough to carry around. Its not as powerful as Surface Pro 3 but runs just fine. Not recommended for online gaming, you will run out of memory and might freeze. Maybe some games but not the one that requires lots of graphics and network connection. Watching Netflix, you tube or just streaming videos is great. You can finish a movie without running out of battery or memory. Using MS Office is great too.

Destroys wifi

This is one of the worst things i have ever bought . If you stream to much at once it not only disconnects from the wifi but completely puts it down. Needing to reboot the wifi monitor everytime. It cant open more then one word document at a time and will NEVER update properly on the first. DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND BUY A IPAD OR AN ACTUAL LAPTOP BECAUSE THIS IS TRASH!!!

Good product, overpriced

This is a good tablet/laptop especially for those who want that productivity. However, Microsoft needs to lower the price of this tablet especially when the type cover isn't even included and is a must for most users and the specs simply don't match the current price.

Perfect for my needs

I needed a very portable laptop that I could use on the train for reading documents, annotating PDFs, working on memos, doing legal research, and taking into meetings. This thing is PERFECT for light office work. Comes with full Office installed, and with the keyboard it is a road warrior's dream. I highly recommend if you need to work and travel at the same time. This 64GB version is not ideal for gamers or video/photo editing as the RAM is small and the CPU is not very powerful.

By Far The Best Tablet

I have tried and owned many tablets over the past few years, and this the best bang for you buck. Does everything you need it to do and than some. More than enough apps available. Beautiful screen and very responsive.

Best tablet ever

I owned more than 30 tablets in the last couple years, I have the surface 3 for the last two days and it's perfect. Fast enough for 90% of your daily tasks, great battery life, fantastic screen (better than Surface Pro 3, no yellow tinted bar) and comfortable to hold with the stand extended. My current ipad air 2 and nexus 9 are on sale, will never go back to mobile OS, the surface 3 will be even better with windows 10 this summer.

Good buy, unless you're a Kobo user

I like the tablet so far. Not too heavy, battery power is lengthy enough. Was surprised how great the sound quality was for such a tiny tablet. Screen resolution is nice also. Bought the 64GB and when I first opened the device and looked at the Disc Space measurement in the settings, only 27GB of the 64 were available for use. Guess I'll be buying a Mini SD for storage sooner than anticipated. One other slight annoyance is that when the tablet is 'thinking' there is no cursor spinning or any method to indicate that the tablet is actually working. Sometimes makes me wonder whether or not I've actually clicked on anything. I like the attached keyboard, the backlight feature is nice. The touchpad works fine, although I wish it had a slider on the right side for scrolling. One other pain point for me is that I was planning to use my tablet to largely replace my Kobo eReader. Unfortunately the Kobo app for Windows 8 is glitchy and only loads about 10% of my library. Based on reviews of this app, it's been this way for about a year now and hasn't been fixed. Wish I could access all of my books on this device...

Great Product

Looks like it has all the functionality of the surface pro 3 (less powerful obviously) but for a reduced price
