The unit constantly falls out of the band. The band broke within a month of purchase. The unit said I was in light sleep when I was awake and up moving around in the middle of the night.
I would have been ok with the problems if the band hadn't broken making it pretty much useless and I'm sure not paying more money for another band given the mediocre performance of this product.
This is my 2nd misfit item purchase. I returned both of them, the flash and shine. This one, I returned thinking that the alarm would work on the shine, but it does not work on that one either.
The alarm worked on my jawbone, however the warranty was no longer valid. I gave up and purchased the fitfit flex for double the price, but it paired easily, no matter if I use android and with the version I have.
You might do better with a tracker from a cereal box. Used less than 3 months sparingly and the core tracker just died (not from lack of battery). The wristband also split in half...
The time is supposed to come on with a flick of the wrist, it comes on a lot more often than that. And that feature can't be turned off. The activity tracking I chronically inaccurate, my only thing I liked was the sleep tracking.
This tracker basically does 3 things.
It tells time ok but reading a couple flashing LEDs is no easier than a normal watch.
It's step counting is wildly inaccurate, I somehow manage to walk 2-3kms every night without knowing it. It doesn't seem smart enough to determine the difference between a step and any other movement so if you wear it on your wrist like I do everything you do will count. (eating with utensils, using a tv remote, brushing teeth etc)
Sleep tracking is ok at best. I don't know how it tracks sleep but it's not 100%. I'm a fairly active sleeper meaning I'll move about quite a bit over the course of a night so that may have played a part in it but it's just wrong most of the time. It records sleep in 3 parts "awake", "light" and "restful" but it often confuses awake time with light sleep or the other way around.
Ultimately this item is not worth the money because what it does it does poorly so even though it's the cheapest fitness tracker out there you're getting a worthless item because the data is completely unreliable making the whole point of tracking the data useless.
I got this a few days ago and was initially unimpressed but it's improved a bit with time.
The watch feature actually works really well surprisingly and I use it all the time for that.
Step counting is way off. I've just been tracking steps with my Samsung S5 for about a year now and it is always very accurate. The misfit has such a huge margin of error it's unbelievable.
It deviated by a minimum of 1000 steps on the best day and about 2500 on the worst. This was during my reading week so I maybe walked 500-1000 steps both days.
Sleep tracking is ok so far. of the 3 nights I've had it it's only registered my sleep for one of them so I think the device has to learn you a bit in order to function properly but it's still not great.
Very convenient to let it store data and only have to sync every few days, doesn't drain phone battery as a result constantly sending and receiving info.
Overall it's actually really good for the price. I'll keep it a while longer to see if steps and sleep get more accurate but it's definitely worth a look if a 200-300 price is out of your reach like most fitness trackers.
Bought it last April and by May it was already malfunctioning by either not syncing with the app or not counting activity. Since this September I have needed to replace the battery every 2 weeks, even though some days I did not even wear it, no battery drains that quickly. The band is also not very secure as there is no back on it, so it pops out often and can be lost easily.
Cheap, not reliable. Just a terrible product. I woke up and it said I had already walked over 100 steps. Stay away, spend the extra $$ and get a fitbit
I bought this activity tracker (the cola red one) last year and right out of the gate it started malfunctioning. Not synching was the most common problem but sometimes it didn't track any steps at times when I'd definitely been moving. The band also broke which they replaced for me. Misfit did finally send me a replacement unit but it didn't work either - exactly the same issues, not synching and not accurately tracking. They replaced it again, this time with a black unit and so far it's working well. It was however a huge amount of hassle and a lot of time dealing with their tech support. Also, if you're hoping this will accurately synch to weight watchers - forget it. I don't know if the problem is on WW or misfit's end but it just doesn't work. You're better to enter your steps manually. I honestly can't say I'd recommend this product to anyone. When mine eventually stops working I'll go for a different tracker.
Bracelet broke after 2 weeks and then it stopped working altogether a few days later
I had my Misfit for less than a month when I decided to use the clip instead of the wristband to change it up...what a big mistake.
I lost my Misfit and it was my Birthday gift. I was so disappointed that I lost it because I loved it. :(
It was helping me keep track of my sleep patterns and steps.
I give it a 3 out of 5 only because of the shoddy clip design that caused me to loose my Misfit!!!
I just wanted this thing to track my sleep. My sleep is my biggest problem.
This does an amazing job of tracking sleep. It is always right too. It has allowed me to try different things to improve my sleep. I have been using one for a year and a half and I know when I went to bed, when I got up, how much deep sleep I got, how much light sleep I got, and how much of the night I was awake. I find this is the information I wanted.
I had to replace the first one because it fell off my wrist. This is a common problem. The replacement one I just wear when I go to bed.
For me this was the perfect mechanism for what I wanted.
On my 4th day with the device the wristband just snapped in half. Device itself was working fine. But horribly cheap vand that best buy refuses to replace. Waste of money. Poor product and poor customer service from best buy.
I downloaded the app but couldnt get it to work
The color is different from what is advertised, was not expecting this poor quality
I don't demand much of a fitness tracker. I want to monitor my sleep and see how many steps I take each day. The MisFit does just that, and it even tells the time (approximately). I don't have any serious complaints at all.
Bought a misfit flash on JFK airport when leaving the US. I liked it, but can't use it since both the bracelet and the clasp broke. Really bad.
VERY CHEAP BRACELET!! Had to replace it twice . Last time it broke went with Fitbit and I have no problem more expensive but very happy. Should have listened to reviews ...
After looking at others reviews I lowered my expectations about this item. The wrist band is in fact crap and uncomfortable. I found the app hard to use- it crashed constantly any time I tried to do anything other than sync, which itself took a few tries (example being trying to add a photo to my profile would force the app to close). The data for sleep and steps seemed fairly accurate. I only got about a week of use from this item before I lost it (I was using the clip included attached to the pocket of my pants). If you are on a budget it is worth giving it a try- just make sure it is secured to you well using something other than the wristband.
Bought this item two weeks ago because of how cheap it was, the design as well as the features such as a battery that lasts 6 months, being water proof and the iPhone app. It was good for a few days until I realized that I really don't care about tracking my fitness. Using the watch and the app was fun for a few days until I came to a conclusion that I don't care about looking at all my activity at all. The features are still really good, but only get it if you really want to keep track of your movements and have a goal. Its useless other wise. Also, the actual watch that your supposed to attach into the wristband doesn't fit perfectly. Had to squeeze it into the wristband many times because the wristband was too small for it. Also the wristband did unhook many times. Also around a week ago, the wristband started to crack and may break soon.
Only buy if you realize the strap will crack and it will be lost within a month.
I have had 3 of this product and one of the more expensive ones...all 3 of the first ones had the strap crack and I returned them and the Shine popped out of the strap and was never found.
Great in idea but losing it was a waste of money.
I have been using it for 8 months now, it works well. I changed the battery once. I like wearing the watch strap on my anckle, this way it records walking and cycling. The software has improved ( I use the Android version) it needs another upgrade (mixed miles/km, translation is poor). But overall it is a good product. Best would be if the company open sourced the software, so the community could improve it.
I got mine for [price], at that price you can not go wrong. Also, no charging. So no excuses...
I really enjoy the sleep tracking feature. Pretty acurate. That's the big reason for setting aside my Moto 360 for the summer. My Google and Samsung app on my phone track my steps too. Not having any band issues 5 weeks in. I leave it in the wrist band most of the time. The band is plastic but comfortable to wear 24 hours. Waterproof, Months of battery life. Decent app, works great my G6 on bluetooth.
Excellent buy for [price].
I like this device. I found it to be fairly accurate with step counts and sleep patterns. Only two negatives: strap is not good it will likely break. Customer support was good however and sent me replacement bands (which subsequently broke again). Second, although it says that it integrates with apps such as Myfitnesspal, UA Record, Mapmyfitness, etc. It doesn't really connect to these apps (when you try to within one of these apps it takes you to the Misfit website - can only connect via Misfit app and not all that useful as you can't transfer step counts etc. To other apps).
Ive had my Flash for just under 2 weeks now and while I initially really liked it, I am less enamoured by it now. While the unit always reported different numbers from the step counter function of the iPhone 6plus, I was ok with the discrepancy up until this morning when I woke up.
According to the Flash, I took over 600 steps while sleeping. Although theres a possibility that Im a sleepwalker, my wife who is a very light sleeper ensures me that I was in bed all of last night.
Thus is the end of my relationship with the Flash, going to the store to exchange it for a Fitbit.
I got this on sale at the end of May 2015, it's now been 2 months I've had it. It started acting up at the beginning of July. Not tracking, turning off, tracking and then when I sync it to my phone it erases all the data and I would have to start over for the day. Not happy with the product.
It works pretty well, battery life is good and they have integration with other apps by pressing the button twice or three times.
Downside so far: the wristband only lasted 4 months and I haven't seen anyone offering replacements.
I am very happy with my purchase! I have been using this product for 2 weeks now and I love it! I haven't used the strap, only the clip so I can't comment on the quality of the strap but have had no issues with the clip at all. It has really helped to keep me on track with my activity and I have already lost 4 lbs! It shipped to me free of charge within 2 days and was really easy to sync with my phone. I would recommend it to a friend.
For the price these are great. Yes the strap is cheap and both my wife and mine broke. Went on to their website and opened a ticket for each. I had put mine together wrong so when I went swimming water leaked in. They sent my wife a new band and me a whole new box. After making sure to put it together correctly it works great. Been 3 months no issue.
Hint. Don't email. Open a support ticket.
loved the sleep tracker only with wristband but the band is so cheap it broke right away. tried to email them for replacement they didn't respond. big downer and crappy customer service
I have bought several pedometers from the primitive to the smarter one like Omron. The using smartphone. Then Fitbit Flex. Broke 2 bands in 1 month. Then lost the travker due to no band. Since my exercise involve the swimming pool 3x a week, i switched to Misfit flash. No regret. Positive: waterproof, looks elegant, simple and minimalist. Sleep monitor is automatic. Negative: the fitting of the tracker to the band is loose. Have to tightened the band to my wrist.
I had searched for a wearable device at a reasonable price. This is it! Totally satisfied. No complains and won't expect it to support extreme conditions because it's not made for that. Just be rational, and don't expect an indestructible bracelet with a responsive OLED screen and GPS, for the price you won't get that, of course. Why people asks for the impossible?
It has the functions I was looking for, an activity tracker, sleep monitor, no need to recharge it daily, waterproof at around 30m. The clock is shown when you press the screen, nice, no battery waste! Good application. Easy and flexible to use.
I will be looking for more of Misfit in the future. This entry-level device is awesome.
Now I know this isn't the top notch activity tracker on the market but I expected it to work a little bit. Sure it counts your steps...but so does the pedometers you can get for free in your cheerios! This device is seriously just that inaccurate. The sleep tracker was also garbage. I was up all night tossing and turning, yet the misfit said I had 7.3 hours of sleep. All in all a big waste of money.
Oh and the wrist band is cheap and garbage.
My wrist strap broke shortly after I bought it. I emailed misfit and for no response. Good tracker for but upset about the strap!! Buyer beware.
I'll start with the only bad thing about this product, the out of the box band is a piece of garbage.
That being said this is a fantastic product. The app on both iPhone and Android are great, with the social portion really keeps you motivated. The sleep tracker is a nice touch but it isn't my main drive for purchasing the app.
The tracking is great, just remember to set it up right so if you wear it on your arm set the option of wearing it on your arm.
The support was wonderful. My band broke (which shouldn't be a surprise to anyone now as the OOB are cheap) however the support reps at Misfit went through without hassle and mailed me a new one. Less then a week from call to delivery from the US too. The new band has made it much longer then the first one(4 days) and seems to be holding up well.
You can wear this thing in the shower and no issues at all so I wear it all the time so I am getting a truer count of my daily activity.
The product is so fun and cheap that I picked one up for my wife as well (note: she also had band issue, same deal though put in request got new band) and she loves hers too.
For the price you can't beat it for an all around tracker, plus after a while you don't even notice it cause of the band and the slim profile.
"Made of rugged yet comfortable, soft-touch materials with a sporty design"
Not in my case. I bought one Flash and the strap broke within 1 week; returned and got a replacement and now this one is in the process of falling apart in less than 2 weeks. Returning this and going to re-think what i will get next. It won't be a Flash that's for sure. Like the product but it isn't rugged enough if you ask me.
I love my Misfit Flash! I find it to be relatively accurate, I use the clip during the day and the wristband at night to get the most accurate step and sleep monitoring. The clip is so sleek you can't tell its there. I am also on the Weight Watchers program and the Misfit can sync with my WW app, it's wonderful! I love how affordable it is and how great it works.
Pros: simple to use; syncs with MyFitnessPal; no charging; you don't have to tell it you are going to sleep; as accurate as any of the high priced trackers; affordable.
Cons: the cheap plastic band and no option to purchase a better one.
Both the bracelet (called "sports band") and the clasp adapters are made of very cheap plastic and did not survive a week each. If they develop nice accessories also at affordable prices it would be a great product.
Other than that the unit fits the intended purposes. It may not be the most sophisticated piece of technology but it is really affordable.
I love the simple and clean design of the sensor, so I bought 2 of these (one for myself and one for my mom). The sensor fell out of the wristband every 30 seconds on one, and the other one fell out every time it got wet (handwashing, showering, don't even THINK about swimming with this). The sleep tracker is awful if you don't go to sleep before midnight. I work odd hours and often sleep from 2a-10a. The Misfit app can't figure out how to log my sleep hours, and constantly just assumed I didn't sleep at all. Ridiculous.
The wristband is very poorly constructed. It MIGHT be okay if you use the clip but over all, it doesn't live up to my expectations even with the low price. I am returning them both tomorrow.
Reasonable price, does everything I wanted it to but the band broke within 2 weeks, had it replaced, broke again a few days later! Tried the clip, but it doesn't hold and I lost the whole device. It is too bad because it was just what I wanted without any useless extras.
I contacted the company - they offered to cover the shipping on a full-price purchase. No thanks - I won't be buying the same problem - what is the point of a device that breaks and/or falls off and gets lost? No matter how affordable or functional, this renders it useless.
Just make a better product! I would gladly pay the pay the extra 50 cents it would take to improve this.
Portable, easy to use and waterproof...hence why it gets 4 stars. The reason it doesn't get 5 stars is b/c it isn't 100% accurate; I've had issues syncing the data on multiple occasions ( not sure if its the device or the bluetooth)...and it has sometimes wiped my activity after sync. Also if you don't sync everyday it has trouble storing the amount of data so you can lose multiple days if you forget to sync. Other than those minor glitches though the tracking is very helpful in encouraging a fitness routine and setting personal goals. The app for Android is also excellent.
This device worked well for a few weeks, then when it was time to change the battery, the band broke while trying to pop it in. Now a week later, the entire device will not work. It goes thru a battery every 24 hours. I would not recommend this device. The price point is amazing, but the quality is just not there.
I got this to track my fitness which is pretty minimal but it has aided me in losing 12lbs so far. I use it with myfitnesspal app that communicates with the watch to give me a record of my day.
For me the watch reminds and encourages me to move more because
I hate seeing my circle incomplete!
I haven't had any issues yet and have been using the watch for just over 1 month so far. I do sometimes question the calories it relays to myfitnesspal but so long as I continue to lose weight in happy.
To any person getting one - the misfit app will show a large number of calories burned. Don't panic it isn't broken. Misfit uses your bmr in addition to exercise in its numbers.
It worked okay for ~2 weeks, off and on, and then the band broke.
Spend a bit more money and buy something that isn't junk.
I work shift work and it doesn't track my sleep during the day when I am on nights.
The wrist band broke after I had it for 2 weeks, but exchanging it wasn't a hassle.
I haven't gotten the ugly rash on my wrist I got with my FITBIT.
Can't input my hockey or iliptical exercise. Limited to only the exercise provided.
Excited to try it swimming.
This is my first experience with an activity and sleep tracker. I bought this inexpensive one to see what these trackers do. I like the activity tracker function because it gives me a sense of how active I have been each day beyond walking, running, swimming,... Everything is recorded as steps. I don't expect more details as I have a gps watch for that. What I especially enjoy is seeing how much restful sleep I get each night which is less than the number of hours I am in bed. It shows when I have solid blocks of deeper rest. When I have longer blocks, it feel much better in the morning.
This product does tract your activity and the sleep monitor works relatively well also. You can adjust your settings to your weight ad height as well as set targets for yourself and amend your daily goals.
Since wearing the device, I am a lot more aware of my activity conscious of my calorie intake versus calories burned.
However, they are not waterproof (two returned after swimming) and the wrist bracelet lasts two weeks maximum, so keep hold of the belt clip.
I purchased this on sale at $29.99 and consider that a bargain. My wife prefers this to the Nike Fuel band that she has due to the ease of syncing with the iPad
the title says it all. i actually really like the functionality of it. it tracks steps, and sleep time, which is great. it did everything it promised, and easily synced to a fitness app. the drawback, which i knew before buying it, was that the band was cheap. i haven't tried the belt/pocket clip, for fear that will break, too, and i'll lose the bluetooth piece. other than that i'd give it 5 stars for what i paid for it.
The Misfit works very well, especially for the low price. It is surprisingly accurate with sleep detection. The clock feature is excellent as I can use it basically as replacement for my normal watch. The design is also excellent and sleek. Very light weight too. The app works decently.
Only problem really is the wrist band. It kinda sucks and that is a big deal for me since that is the only way I wear it. The flash does not stay inside the wrist band socket and constantly pops out. If you tighten the band enough, it won't fall off but it is annoying to have to constantly adjust the orientation so you can use the clock properly. I tried super gluing it in the socket with little success.
If you're not wearing it on your wrist, I would totally recommend it. If you are wearing it on your wrist, I might wait until they fix the issue.
Not flashy looking but what activity tracker is? I added bling to mine. I've had it for a month and it has come out of the clip while running on treadmill a couple of times. Not quite accurate I don't think but close. It is motivating when you attain your goals!
