it sets up easily - I had an initial problem, but once i set the hub up connected directly to my router, it set up quickly. After that, I moved it to where i wanted it on our network, and it's worked flawlessly since. It's not only fun to use, it works perfectly - i've set up certain scenes to play at set times, and a quick raise of my wrist and "hey Siri", turn the living room lights on to 50%" and it turns them on, or goodnight" and it sets the "goodnight" scene. Perfect! And if I don't want to speak (say it's the middle of the night, for example), can use the app or one of the Homekit controller apps to set it without a sound.

Had Nanoleaf for a while now

At first glance I was really excited about the Nanoleaf product, it has such an incredible pitch being environmentally friendly, revolutionary design and on top of all being app controlled. Here's the thing these light bulbs are quite expensive, and I completely justified the price due to the entire possibility of being able to control it with the app. The first two months of purchase the hub was able to recognize the bulbs quite easily, and the app was really fun, you can dim, ask Siri to turn your lights off, really easy and hands free. But after I purchased my 3rd bulb I installed it on my ceiling (requirement of 2 bulbs) and one on my bedside lamp. The app had this glitch were sometimes when you would dim it would entirely tell you it could not recognize the bulb so it would not dim, or it would delay for a while and then dim. Slowly it got to the point where it would only be able to recognize one of the ceiling bulbs while the other one would be entirely out of sync and would need the switch to turn on/off. In order to try and fix the issue I re-downloaded the app and re-plugged in the hub, to find that hey had changed the app entirely. Once I re-did the sync with the hub and app, no luck, no recognition of any other possible devices (i.e. the 3 bulbs) I've done this process countless times, and every time I search for an answer there's very vague explanations on their app helpdesk and the suggested method to fix it has been a failure. Overall the app is very simple but extremely lacking in the support/help section (Which is important to talk about because that is a big chunk of why you would want to invest in this product, or at least it was for me). The app is also very buggy in dimming effects and it doesn't seem to me like they're currently putting enough on their app/support that is crucial on this product Final thoughts: The light bulbs are very cool in design, they're green, and you can still dim them without the app (it can honestly be a very tedious process if there's 2 bulbs for 1 switch), but if you're going to pay for a product that doesn't provide you smart control I'm sure you can find other light bulbs at a lower price point that are environmentally friendly and and you're able to dim. I'm sure if I made this review as soon as I installed these it would've been a 5 star, but it stopped working quite fast and problem solving has been quite difficult (very difficult to find forum posts on how to help with recognition of devices by hub other than the nanoleaf helpdesk vague explanation). TL;DR: Light bulbs direction is great with design and being environmentally friendly, but a big reason to want to own these is due to their SMART control app which seems to be very buggy, contain glitches and in the future hub could stop recognizing light bulbs (No connection to use the app).

love this!

I've been hearing about smart products for a while now but never gave them much thought. It didn't seem like I would get much use out of it, but I decided to try this after I saw Nanoleaf at a trade show earlier this year. Once I started using this, I realized what I'd been missing! It makes my life so much easier and I love the 'scenes' function. Easy and simple for a quick setup in my house.

Easy to set up, convenient to use, looks cool

This is a great product. Very simple set up processes, the app walks you right through it. Looks very cool in the livingroom. The light is nice, and it's pretty simple to control. I set up some scenes in the App, then just tell Siri what I want the lights to do and it does it for me. Looking forward to their color changing bulbs.
