More Information

Ideal for Nikon lovers
  • This lens is designed to work with Nikon FX and DX cameras, so if you've got one of those you're all set.
Excellent optics
  • When you're snapping shots during the grand entrance of the birthday cake you'll be thankful for this lens's large maximum aperture of f/1.8, which is ideal for low light shooting situations like this.
  • The advanced optical design provides excellent edge to corner sharpness so your images be full of rich detail.
  • The ability to focus down to 0.3m lets you get up close and personal with amazing-looking imagery.
Take full control over your photos
  • Choose between the 2 focus modes to get your shot looking just right: M/A (manual override autofocus), which enables instant manual switching during AF operation, or M (manual focus).
  • Adding some artistry to your photos by making the background out of focus? The rounded 7-blade diaphragm opening makes out-of-focus elements appear more natural.
Stuff you'll want to know
  • Getting moisture inside the lens can be, to put it mildly, extremely annoying. This lens features a rubber seal to minimize moisture ingression.
  • When mounted on a DX-format SLR, the picture angle is the 35mm equivalent focal length of 52.5mm

Must have lens, either with DX or FX camera

Just bought this amazing lens, I have a D90 and a D610, must say I totally fell in love with it. It's a must have even though it is mainly recommended for a DX camera, I used it with my full frame without cropping the sensor and I totally love it !

Good Prime Lens

It is a very good prime lens, capable for scenery and portrait shooting. It is also very convenient when travelling. This prime lens is enough for most cases. All I have to do is to improve my shooting skills.

Great prime lens

An awesome prime lens. Relatively cheap and excellent bokeh. If you shoot food pictures indoors then get the 35mm, if you shoot outdoors get the 50mm one. Overall very happy with this prime lens.

This lens does what it's supposed to do

This prime lens offers good low light performance. I have used it mostly as a portrait lens. I have had no issues with this product.

A lens everyone should have

Having a lens with 1.8f really change the way I take pictures. Everything is bright, colours are crispier, this lens is WAY better than the classic 18-55mm you receive with your DSLR. In fact, I don't use the 18-55mm anymore, just that 35mm.

A must have lens for your D800

This is a great little lens. It makes the big heavy D 800 manageable to carry all day. Great for carry and shoot if you want to travel light. I have the 24x 70 prime and camera and lens need a heavy duty tripod. Not so with the lighter 35mm lens. I think it is a Must Buy. at Best Buy--best price

Perfect Complement to Kit Lenses

Tack sharp, great in low light, and has the traditional field-of-view of a 50mm lens on a 35mm film camera. This lens is the perfect complement to the standard DX wide-angle zoom and telephoto zoom kit lenses.

Perfect Lens

Excellent lens, fast, easy to use, great for indoor. I have tried the DX 50mm f/1.8G, but I prefer this one. It stays on my camera all the time unless I need more zooms. Must have!

Excellent lens

I did some research before picking this up, it is probably the best lens you can get for the nikon series - specifically for portraits, and indoor lighting. It is a PRIME lens, there is no zoom! I knew that before I bought it, but with the 1.8 f stop, it is excellent indoor lighting.

Indoor dream.

If your looking for the best lens for indoor performance on a DX you can't go wrong with this one. Not as great of a performer as the 50 mm 1.8G but the extra field is more desired indoors.

great depth

I bought this lens not too long ago, but you can tell it's a far superior lens then the kit lenses that come with the D90 all the way down to the D40. It takes really sharp pics with a lot of depth. Great lens to use w/o a flash too. I'd recommend it to all the people who bought an entry level SLR cause then you can see the kewl shots your camera can really take.
