Could not be more disappointed.

For about a year I have been excitedly waiting for the release of a exceptional single shot 360 camera, and with the name Nikon attached I thought there would definitely be a step up from any of the other first gen 360 cameras out there. What a joke. I guess all 4K is not created equal. I wanted to use the Keymission for stills with the understanding that the images would be of a higher quality than movie mode. Nope! The stills are terrible, the grain and low detail make them unusable. Not to mention the poor excuse for edge stitching. For the time being I'll stick to multiple shots from my Go Pro.

Fantastic hardware

Unfortunately is is dependent on a non-functioning app. last update to the software was early December 2016. No indication of any fixes/updates in the near future. Nikon abandoned ship with this one.

No one is laughing, Nikon.

This camera is Nikon's idea of a practical joke on anybody who thought that their brand stood for quality equipment, or that the 360 could offer something useful to the disappointing array of 360 cameras currently on the market. Not funny guys.

Nikon 360

Got my Nikon 360 two days ago. It took me a day to figure out how to connect it to my phone. Once I had it setup all I have to do to start using it is just run the Nikon app and it will connect it to the camera. I read abt people who are frustrated but if they spend the time to read the manual it would be the ulitimate 4K 360 Cam. I have been using the Ricoh Theta S for a year now. I like it except for it's resolution and battery life. So if you have read the manual before you return it and it is the best 4K camera. Tom

Not bad for the adventurist.

I do a lot of 360° shooting and have experimented with different rigs. As a compact waterproof 360° camera its an affordable option but don't think that because its 4K your video is going to look 4K amazing. With spherical video, you are only looking at a section of video at a time and these 2 cameras are recording a very wide shot. Most professional rigs have minimum 4 cameras and the ones I prefer have at least 10. (less cameras means more warping and distortion along the sides) By the time you upload it to Facebook or Youtube the quality will look more like 480p. You will get some noticeable "dead zones" which is common when shooting 360° video but it's more difficult to fix them because having only 2 cameras provides no overlap. This camera has a couple big pluses though - like weight and being water proof. Most 10 camera 360° rigs are fairly heavy and are not water proof so that's where this camera excels. If you need to mount this to a helmet or go underwater, this may be for you! At 1/10 the cost of other more professional rigs, it's a great way to capture 360 video.
