Battery problem

The phone is great for the price. Works fast, video quality is good, and battery was ok. But after two years, it kills the battery. Tried with two new batteries, still battery discharges in four hours even in idle condition. Nokia must address the issue. My 6 yr old Samsung phone runs 4/5 days in idle state.

Won't hold a charge

This phone is useless because it won't hold a charge. I spends more time on the charger than in my pocket. I rarely use the phone. It is for emergencies only and rarely turned on. It's completely unreliable. Makes a great paper weight.

Great phone

No issues. I got it with Win8 but upgraded it afterwards. After of a year use still going strong. Honestly this is an underrated phone. It works well. Only challenge is battery life - it lasts normally 3 days with wifi on; otherwise over a week on standby.. will try to get an extended battery to see if it helps.

Great phone

Fantastic value for money plus Windows 8.1 rocks. Will never go back to an over priced and over hyped [competitor].

Worst phone ever

Bought this in July to use in Canada for texting only. The phone died! Never dropped, never got wet, battery went low and tried to charge it and it's fried. Will never recommend Nokia. Now I have to buy a new phone and switch out the sim card. Ridiculous.

This is the worst phone I have ever had. It stopped working within 16 days (1 day past return). I dropped it from less then a foot high and it landed on the back side of the phone yet the screen cracked somehow.

Best phone I ever used

With cellphones not being around when I was a kid I'm very impressed with what they can do now. I bought this for myself and for my son and we can't put it down. A pretty good back camera with 5 mp but no camera at the front which means my son can't take selfies :-( this is a great phone and I recommend it for a person with a budget. This is definitely worth it!!!!!!!!

Bought this for my 12 year old son. Amazing phone that we both like. Affordable but not cheaply made this smartphone is definitely worth it for a first phone or a person on a budget.

great phone

I love this phone, it is zippy, light, and has everything I need in a phone. Rogers offers a wide range of plans and great customer service.

phone good , software no

this is a good little unit so long as you don't need the camera function. However I will never buy a windows phone again. Going back to android to stay next time.

Good buy

Good phone for a prepaid at sale price. Works well but did freeze up on me once and had to do a reset. Only use occasionally so not sure how it would handle a heavy user. Overall I am pleased with it.

Nokia Lumia 520 Smartphone

A great smartphone for the price. Very durable. I have dropped mine a few times, once in a foot deep of snow. The battery fell out and as I was looking for it I accidently stepped on the phone too. When I picked it all up it was a mess, the electronics full of slushy dirty snow. I was sure it was done. Took it home dried it cleaned it put the battery back in and pushed the power button. It booted up as if nothing. not a single thing wrong with it. I was impressed. Highly recommended.

Pretty decent phone

It's a good product, especially for the price. I don't use my phone that often, so it's perfect for me, but someone who's more of a hipster would probably be pretty disappointed. BestBuy gets 10/10, Microsoft gets 7/10 for their Windows phone OS. I'm sure an Android would be better, but if you're already locked in a Rogers contract like I am and just want an affordable phone, this one's perfect.

I have bought two of these phones now, one for myself and another for my wife. When they are on sale they are nearly a steal for what you get, an all around excellent device. The screen looks great, its user interface is snappy and fast, There is a large selection of games and apps. The OneNote app syncs perfectly with the desktop version. I am very impressed with this low cost phone.

Love the Windows phone

Both of my kids have these phones. They use them more for the games, music, and the odd text message. Great value with no long term commitments.

Windows 8 Phone

A great smartphone for a prepaid. Bought it when it was on sale. Screen doesn't scratch, adjustable touchscreen sensitivity, pretty good speaker, cool apps included.

Great Phone!

My last phone was a Motorola Much Music phone so I feel like I've really moved ahead with this phone. It was easy to set up, has a great easy to read screen, and the phone reception is really clear. I liked the phone so well, I bought the same one for my husband a week after mine was delivered! Having WiFi capability on a phone at this price point is the icing on the cake!

excellent MP3 player!!

I was looking for an MP3 player for my 10 year old niece. So I decided to buy her a phone! Way cheaper than iPod nano plus it makes a very good budget phone!

OK phone but has 1 horrible feature

The phone itself is ok but within 5-minutes of using the phone I was really annoyed. It has this feature that can't be disabled where when you press the main keys (windows, back, search) it vibrates and makes a noise. Apparently there are a lot of people annoyed by this as well but they can't software fix it. So basically you can never use this phone in complete silence!

Great Phone

It's an amazing phone, and not just for the price. Great photos, great sensitive screen, and very fast. The Windows Phone OS is also extremely well-designed. So far, every app I wanted has been available and the free office and Skydrive is really good!

Great phone for the price.

Found this phone by chance as i was looking to replace existing regular cellphone. I found it pretty good especially office comes with it. i have not tried gps yet. Since i am with fido, i was able to use this rogers phone without unlocking (this is probably done by rogers). battery tends to need recharging every 3rd given that i had everything switched off e.g. wifi etc.

My first Windows phone and I loved it

replaced my Samsung S2 LTE so one would say it's downgraded but I like this phone a lot, especially the battery life. My S2 sometime would not last a day (and I hardly use it) while this one last me 3 days easily before I need to charge. It's also fast and for [price] (which I paid) it's worth every penny

Superb phone for the price!

I have an iPhone 4S and was looking for an inexpensive backup phone. I was a little hesitant about getting the Lumia 520 because I had read that there were not a lot of apps available for the Windows Phone OS. Now that I've got the 520 I'm really glad that I bought it. First of all, the operating system is so much smoother than Android or iOS. Secondly, I was able to find versions of all of the major apps that I have on my iPhone in the Windows Phone app store. The phone also has free software that lets me use it as a GPS with turn by turn directions without even needing a data plan! Nice screen (though it smudges too easily), free music streaming, expandable memory and a nice extra blue shell (looks better than the standard black shell). This is easily the best phone available for the price. Google "Nokia 520 review" and read for yourself why so many people like it.

I LOVE THIS PHONE, Can not speak highly enough about it. Fast, easy to use, windows 8 is great, being a Mac guy, this phone is super. I loved this phone so much that I canceled my landline to use it more and have it with me, ( I know crazy), [...] Radio streaming is great, texting is fun with the bubble format, and being a cyclist, the built in GPS is too cool, don't need a connection, has built in GPS, chip. [...] Can't say enough how impressed I am. :)

The offer is a steal

At [price] it is no brainer deal. The box also contains a lovely cyan back-cover. The phone comes with a GPS sensor and HERE map/drive/transition are available. It is worth every penny I paid. If you have an existing Rogers plan, you can just insert the sim card and it works. I'm so glad I didn't miss this deal!
