Subwoofer out doesn't work

I love everything about this receiver. The price was decent and it has Bluetooth to play music. But the sub output is soo weak I can barley hear it. If you reset it it works like normal for a bit then cuts out again. I'll be returning it soon

Awesome Sound

The Onkyo TX-SR353 was purchased to replace my older Sony AV player. Installation and setup were easy. Now I can stream my music via Bluetooth. The sound is a lot better from my PSB 5.1 speakers, especially for music. This receiver was a good value and performs really well. I am happy with my purchase.

Powerful receiver, great price

I researched and purchased this receiver after my Denon stopped working. It shipped safely and quickly to the house. Easy to set up and sounds great with my existing 5.1 speaker setup (Bose cube system). I synced it up with my Logical Universal Remote without issue. The sound quality is excellent and there are a lot of different options for listening environments (movies, music, live sports, etc.) A big plus is the Bluetooth option, which lets you sync the receiver to any smart phone and listen to all of your favourite music.

does it's job

Bought my first 4 channel in 1973, first 5.1 ten years ago, and now I have this thing. I am no audiophile, I just wanna hear music. This unit does the trick and for what is left of my ears by now, it satisfies my needs completely. Bought right here on line, sweet experience.

Excellent Choice

As well featured as many amp/tuner packages available at higher prices. Easy set up. Easy source switching from Cable/Satellite to Gaming, tuner etc... Works well with Logitech 350 remote and with Blumoo. Audio streaming is better with Blumoo due to 150 foot range but that is a feature of Blumoo not a flaw in the amp. I will buy another couple of these for other setups in various rooms and for the cottage. The price is impossible to beat!

Much better than my 3 yr old pioneer. Bluetooth connectivity is awesome.

Great for what I paid

I'm very happy with my receiver so far. It's been around 2 weeks and I've had no problems so far. It sounds great. If there's a downfall I've noticed so far, it is the menu and the controller. They just seem clunky. Very happy with purchase. I got it on sale and so far it's been worth every penny.

Excellent value receiver

Over the years - electronics have simplified with regards to different connectors etc. I'm replacing a top of the line Pioneer from about 8 years ago. It still had HDMI then - but also about 50 connections for every other type of cable out there. Over the years as devices all changed, or i integrated 4 different boxes into a Xbox for example - the old receiver was just being so underused. Plus, all of the THX, multi-room etc etc settings - I'm out of that now that I have a smaller house. The Onkyo is simple. HDMI in - HDMI out. Does all the newest standards which is what i needed like 4k, HDR etc. The auto setup using the supplied microphone is straight forward, and if you've ever used this procedure on other receivers nothing has changed. Takes about 5 minutes. Just leave the room and let it do its thing. Otherwise - it just works. Bluetooth is a great addition for my daughter to pump music from her iPad to it. Cranked up - it sounds nice on my Polk's. Makes excellent use of surrounds. My scenario - I just have the receiver set to straight Lossless PCM as that's what I pump into it - and let the DTS/DD come through that way. No bitstream needed, and I appreciate it lets me avoid all that. I'm glad I bought it. No regrets.

Works well

I ordered this online and a few things were defective. I exchanged it in store and this one works a lot better. There are still some issues I need to figure out but would give it 3.5 stars.

So far this is a great little receiver and there isn't a bad thing i can say about it. At least this one works. I mainly purchased this one because my last one died. My last one lasted about 3 years and was a Pioneer VSX-522-k and the HDMI board had died. Well after contacting Pioneer i was told that they wouldn't sell me a new HDMI board. So i decided to buy from the competition. So after reading reviews on the Onkyo Receivers and even though some have had a few problems, at least Onkyo had done everything they could to resolve those problems and keep customers happy. Which is more than i can say for Pioneer.

Not bad for the money

There's not a lot to complain about. It seems to be an overall good unit but nothing fancy. The tuner works well and the sound is pretty good. I would class this as a bright sound. I don't like the digital set-up that much... seems a little counter intuitive. The other thing is; forget using this unit without a sub. Very little low frequencies go to the front / rear speakers. Without a sub it sounds like your grammas kitchen radio. In an area where you might want to turn the sub off sometimes... this is my complaint about this unit. I have a (more expensive) Marantz unit as well and it outperforms the Onkyo easily for user friendliness, clarity and power. Would I buy another? Yes, for the money this is good as long as you can run your sub full time.

Excellent value.

My old Sony receiver was getting long in the tooth so I picked up this Onkyo on sale. I'm very happy with it. Lots of power, supports 4K, Bluetooth, HDR and puts out very clear, sharp sound. Set up was straightforward and simple. This represents an excellent value given the features and the price. The only caveat here is that this is a quite large receiver. So be sure to allow for significant space in your entertainment unit before getting it. I would also use the online instruction manual as the paper manual included is rather basic. Great receiver. Glad I picked it up.
