I HATE HATE HATE this microwave! (Even though it works very well!)

I've had this microwave for 1½ years. So far, it has worked perfectly, heats/cooks food evenly, no problem with overdone and raw areas on the same food. It defrosts meat very well IMO. HERE IS THE PROBLEM WITH THIS MACHINE: There are NO NUMBERS on the control panel!! It is UNbelievable to me that a company could market a m/w oven with this "issue"!! Did just ONE guy in product development think this up, and then EVERYONE ELSE just agreed that it was a good plan?? Does Panasonic use product testers and if so, HOW did this get past them? FOR EXAMPLE If you want to heat something up....lets say a bowl of soup from the fridge, you have to press the "30 second" quick time button TEN times to get a heating time of 5 minutes. IF you want to heat or cook something for longer than 5 minutes, you CAN'T USE THE 30 SECOND BUTTON!!. You have to use a different button, and you have to press it over and over and over to get the amount of time you want, then you press the start button. If you want to use the timer for something, lets say 30 minutes, you press the "hourglass button", then you press another button repeatedly till you work your way up to the 30 minute setting that you want. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GOOD OLD SENSIBLE METHOD OF PRESSING A "POWER" BUTTON,OR TIMER BUTTON THEN ENTER THE AMOUNT OF TIME YOU WANT THEN PRESS START?? There are so many similar scenarios that I could point out, but I'm sick of writing this. ANOTHER STUPID THING about this machine is that it has this cheery greeting at the end of the cooking time, it says "Enjoy your meal" or something dumb like that. I cringed every time I read that ridiculous greeting, while removing a dish of cat food that I had been warming for my poor old (19+ years) sick kitty. Very annoying. Please, don't try to tell yourself that these issues won't bother you, or that you'll get used to them. The problems with the control panel still annoy me every single time I use this machine. I REALLY WISH I KNEW THESE THINGS BEFORE I BOUGHT THIS MICROWAVE. Everyone, please research your product before you buy!

Not User Friendly

I didn't have a close look at the control panel when I ordered this microwave. It has no numbers! You pay a lot of money for a "genius" microwave but simpler would be my choice. I regret my purchase..

Don't do it! Not worth the price!

1) Exhaust is very poor. 2) Lights underneath continually become loose because of repeated door opening and closing and the compartment they are housed in requires it be unscrewed every time...Very inconvenient as this occurred a few times each month. We have had the microwave for almost 3 years and the latch on the door stopped working (of course when there was food trapped inside). the entire side panel housing all the electronics needed to be removed and the latch parts were embedded within all the wiring making repairing it very difficult. The parts were inexpensive but once the "guts" were tampered with, the switch to run the microwave would glitch out every now and then & after repeated attempts to repair it and multiple service calls, we were told it needed to be replaced. Very frustrating considering the [price] price tag & the service call costs! Items like this should not be built as if they were disposable. Very disappointed!

happy

A very nice product. Past experience has shown us that over the range microwaves do a poor job of exhausting cooking steam, this microwave does a better than average job. The fan is quiet as well. Cooking heating time is very good. Also has a rich appearance.
