Horrible Customer Service from Paramount

I bought this insert a few months ago for a fireplace we were building. It was stored in the box unopened in a closet until we needed it. When we removed it from the box and turned it on it made a loud ticking noise. Since it was past the return date I couldn't take it back to the store so I called Paramount Customer Service. They told me it sounded like it was the flame imitator motor and that they would send me a new motor. I questioned how difficult it would be to change since I'm not great at that sort of thing and was told it was a matter of unplugging the old motor and plugging in the new one. They even sent me a link to a you tube video to show me how to do it - except the video showed that you have to cut the electrical wires, remove the old motor and then re-wire the new motor back in! I emailed them again and said I was not at all comfortable doing that and asked if they had a repair center or if they could just replace the insert since it was brand new. I was told there was no repair center and that lots of people had done this repair with no issue. I insisted I wasn't comfortable with it and since it was past the return date I couldn't return it to the store, so what was I suppose to do? I kid you not, the customer service rep told me to go and buy a new one so I would have a new receipt and then return the defective one! This is their idea of customer service. I would never buy one of their products again! Bad service and lack of integrity - not the features I look for in companies I buy from.

Looks great Not a lot of heat.

We needed to find a until to fit our existing fireplace hole and this fit perfectly. I am not really impressed with the heat it offers. We were using a small space heater while we waited to find one that fit and it does a much better job. Looks great but disappointed

I've only had this product for about a month, but so far it's been great. It was super easy to install, and looks and works great. Well worth the money.
